There’s negative swing. Hold function while you change the swing to get negative swing .

No shit? Damn, I didn't even know this and I've had my Sample 2 for like 2 years. Nice!

Swing is just shifting the timing of every other step to be closer to the non-shifted steps.

Nice video, one thing, the difference between reverb and echo isn’t whether you’re inside or outside, the difference is time. If the reflection is late enough, it’s echo, if it overlaps and resonates with the origin, it’s reverb.

thanks, it was easy and simple to understand the basics of this machine. have to check some info about those extra functions as well (if you can recommend a good place for that, please share a link).

Nice tutorial thanks - Do you know if the vocal sample (in many places but sayer example) at 16'23" onwards is taken from the IOS game "Papers Please"? I'm just curious, Cheers. Lee

I believe it is actually a reference to one of KORG's older devices, maybe the ESX-1? Its kind of an easter egg. I haven't heard of Papers Please, but maybe they got the sound from that older KORG instrument?

Can you pls explain me regarding odd time signature how I can manipulate using Volca modular and Volca sample
    Pls help me brother
    Budha Volca you are

That's going to be difficult with those two. The only way Volcas can work with odd time signatures is with the 'active step' feature, and I don't believe either the Sample or Modular have that feature. So you may need an external sequencer to accomplish it.

Reverb is pretty week to my taste. It is doing something but the volume of the reverbed sound is super low.
