Apologies for the ruckus in the background... Roger was pretty excited about this new kit, too! 😅🐕
Nah keep Roger he chill💀
No need to apologize.
oh n worries! this kit is very clearly Roger approved!!! :)
Unlike some model manufacturers, quality matters for Tamiya. Tamiya still has the best box art.
Was just thinking the same thing re. the box art. And I remember the Tamiya kits I buit in the 70s - they really set my expecttations very high when I was a kid. Their quality was what I compared all others against.
@@rszanger Some early Tamiya figures were a bit “squat” in the ‘70s, but their model tanks were by far the best at fit and finish. Still are. Recently built the M51 Israeli Super Sherman and it was perfect.
I think the older Dragon kits have the best box art.
The box art and poses are really giving off late 70's vibes, an instant classic kit.
When my wife asks me to go shopping with her, I always give her stock Tamiya facial expression look.
😅
I'm an aircraft modeller just building a complex diorama of a Messerschmitt Bf109 having an engine change. Hoist gantry, engines, mechanics, welding crew .... a very busy scene as you'll imagine. Apart from the plane itself, there's also a 1/35 L1500 Kfz70 troop carrier (by ICM) - and a Tamiya SdKfz 2 Kettenkrad in the scene (the Luftwaffe used these to tug their smaller planes around). I build only a tiny handful of these 'incidental' vehicles, and the Kettenkrad's my first-ever Tamiya kit. The difference between the two kits is absolutely staggering. Just everything about the Tamiya kit (design, thought, parts fit, ease of construction, tech tips, instructions - literally everything) is in a totally different league. They even supply a specially-moulded part to bend the PE engine grilles to the right shape. Just wow. The ICM instructions by comparison contain (so far) 18 serious errors which would stump an inexperienced modeller. The parts fit is bad, some of the parts are on the sprues but missing from the instructions, the parts location pictures are little more than guesswork, the decal-placement page is printed back-to-front (mirror-imaged) etc etc etc. But having built my first-ever little Tamiya model - I almost wish I was a Panzer guy instead of a Luftwaffe guy. I have another diorama in the works - a refuelling scene. I'm sure that my newly-acquired 1/35 Tamiya Opel Blitz fuel truck will be equally as lovely to build.
I think the opel blitz is a reworking of an old italeri kit be prepared for some work. Tamiya have shared some moulds with them the crusader 3 opel blitz and a couple of others spring to mind the original kit is a 1970’s vintage and for the time very good just not 2020 good.
Excellent video. I really love Tamiya kits. I hope they eventually get around to releasing a German Fallschirmjager figure set. I definitely plan buy this set.
I'd also love to see a couple sets of Japanese and US Marines.
Oh yes please tamiya God some new german paratroopers.

Building one up now… they’re phenomenal 👍
Amazing, Tamiya really push hard with new figures 👍
I built the original Tamiya German MG team…in the early ‘80s.
Memories.

Yes i pick it up to,aswell as the new motorcycle and figures by tamiya, and i got tamiya new leopard 2 kit, hail tamiya.
By far, in the 1/35 scale, they are the best.
I preordered mine and it arrived last week. Can’t wait to make a diorama with this. Very good quality kit. Really looking forward to watching you paint these figures
You share my love of the new era of Tamiya figures, now bring on the Fallschirmjäger and British infantry !
This kit has also just arrived is Australia. I've put in an order for it immediately!!
Great looking set of figures! I'll be getting it for sure.
YEP, I want one …..
I wonder if my local
HOBBY TOWN will have it in already….
Even the BOX ART looks great
These figures will go well with late war vehicles TAMIYA Is putting out ….
I’m happy for you getting them, THANKS for sharing and taking the time putting this together…
I see a few little VIGNETTE DIORAMAS in the future with this kit…..
MODEL ON …..
CHRIS 🇺🇸
Thanks for watching!!
Yes I have 2 on order.
Looks great. I’ll be happy to grab one. However, what I’d really like to see is a new German observation group.
Now I NEED this!
Right??
@@SpruesNBrewswhere you get yours????? I wonder if I can get anywhere near me!
I ordered mine yesterday!
I'm glad to see an update for German machine gun team but I'm hoping for an American figure set.
Their late-war US Infantry kit from a few years back is pretty great!
@@SpruesNBrews it is i have that but if you recall Tamiya released an early war figure set then the late war figures and now the machine gun team. I'd like to see an early war U. S. figures set in summer uniform. Or even Marines in WW2.
@@jasonmckendry1708
That would be great.
I will probably add it to the stockpile of military models that I will complete someday!
I just ordered mine after watching this video. Thank you❤
cant wait for the build!
I always love your enthusiasm - it's addictive. All the best from down-under!
"... entrenching tools... Nothing groundbreaking..."
I am impressed!
😅😅
Got mine too .. and the new KS600 road sign set 💪🏼👍
Nice! I haven't picked up the bike myself yet. Enjoy!
@@SpruesNBrews … cheers, from the UK .. thanks for the reply, can’t wait to see yours painted up 😍
Received mine yesterday
Nice!!
Just picked up this kit from my local shop after seeing this, love the videos and paint tutorials
Sweet..looking forward to ordering these😀😀😀😀😀
It is a superb set with highest standard
of details, facial expressions,
weapons and accessories.
I think it is equally compared to
Verlinden figures with much lower
prices, in same level.
It exceeds the first edition many miles.
The cover is a brilliantly artwork.
Glad to see you excited! Hope to see a build/paint vid?
Working on it now!
I'm sure it will make a good tutorial video, keep up the good work. Greetings from Portugal.
Thank you very much!
Looks so nice. thx for showing
My pleasure! Thanks for watching 👍
My Dad got these for my brothers and I in the 70s. He built and painted them for us.
My main memory as a six year old was the German soldier on a horse wirh a soldier on foot.
Sadly when my parents divorced we were daft and my older brothers had an air rifle.
Figures put in the garden by me and my brothers shot them to bits
My Dad also got us Samurai figures - Tamiya? They were awesome. Any clues anyone?
YYYEEESSS!!!
Even Roger knows!!!
Last Friday was on Spru Brothers as well as Scale Hobbist online stores. At both sites I saw this kit listed and their new 600cc motorcycle kit, and that Academy kit of the panzer I with motorcycle and side car. I didn't buy any of them as I'm doing some 1/48 scale USMC & USN aircraft from the south pacific November 1942 into, well into 1943. I just finished reading 53 days on Starvation Island. A great read in my opinion. Anyway Tamiya & Academy maybe later this year I will pick them up.
Ordered today
Very nice kit 👍
It sure is!
definately on my list to pick up love your videos as well
I just got mine yesterday!! It's awesome, can't wait to put it together
Nice!! Enjoy 👍
Update: Andy's HHQ already sold out 🤪
It would be nice a comparison with the old machinegunners kit.
awesome as always from tamiya
Indeed!
Looking forward to seeing more on this kit. Plus if possible a video on that laffette(?), mount. I wonder when that new German motorcycle kit is coming out? Nice video, & thank you.
Would like to see a side by side with the original kit that's been using the same mold since 70's. Curious how the faces look.
Oh I’m sure that would be wild!!
Love the ammo belt with it hanging and I don’t have to cut it! What also would be cool if you have a spare MG belt round you could use it for the ammo guy I know I definitely will try that!
I agree on the faces for sure, especially the molded cheek. I'm very disappointed in the helmets though, are rivets too much to ask for?
Great video sir 🍻
Hank is it just me but have Tamiya cracked how to make world class figures there last few sets are up there with the best better than 4 or 5 years ago
Are the MG barrels open, or do they need drilled out?
We need an American and a British machine gun team now. Way too many German WW2 subjects. Anyone would think no other country was involved during WW2.
Totally agree.
Yeah I have MG42's coming out my butt.
They produce what sells well, your personal opinion has no importance to Tamiya
ครับพี่ลู่คนแรกเลยที่เราไปแล้วครับน้องกุกก็จะ
What watch do you prefer? Just curious I see the tan line 😂
Great figures…typical Tamiya quality, but sorry, it’s hard for me to get excited over yet another WWII German figure set.
How about some more American figures doing something besides sitting or standing around, or some Brits, or Russians, or USMC figures?
I don’t know, maybe a little variation.
