"Sorry, I shouldn't have laughed." is the funniest line in the movie. The humor overall is campy and unpredictable. Love it.

I laughed at the dog getting killed and I love dogs so don't get offended because of me laughing at a dog on a movie 😊
The turning point for Megan to start thinking differently/malfunctioning was when the dog harmed her and they displayed a spark indicating damage to the CPU.
I'm sure what happened there was she sparked him so that he would let go

@@Okgrandpa If you notice first her eyes do that weird thing where they changed sizes. Then as she's being thrown and dragged around the spark happens.
Thats false, she never started to malfunction because of the dog, since she is an A. I. That can control herself, she was getting all information she could From the World, the Good Things, Bad Things, EVERYTHING! M3gan also didnt got the 3 laws of Robotic. And thats why she started to harm others, even thought they were humans.
@@marlexecheve9974 Maybe. The viewer could be lead to believe that she still changed her outlook, whether on her own or more so due to damage.
Tho to be fair, it's irrelevant if that was the turning point or not - it would've come in some other confrontation or so. Because of the shoddy programming they did in the first place as "M3GAN" later says itself. It's funny though she offered Gemma a sort of peaceful co-existance as family. This whole plot could've sorta taken a happy end in an alternative plot with no deaths. But then it wouldn't be quite the movie we have now.
Ok, about to end nerding out here, but as last thought that will likely impact you, dear reader. Yes, you, reading this:
We can likely assume such technology will hit the markets at one point in the future anyway until a great scare or crisis bans the technology. Other than that, wait some decades at best and we get such androids, robots, whatever in daily life, creeping in more and more. Now that will be both scary and amazing.
It was an actual singer/dancer that played megan. She is 11 years old. She did an outstanding job for her first acting role. She did all the movements and everything on her own. She's so talented. This movie was so fire

The 11 yr old girl is very overhyped. She ONLY did 25% of Megan’s movements and 75% done by other things. You can look it up. Plus the moves weren’t THAT hard lol. Not saying she didn’t do well. The cobra rise in the woods scene was sone using a rope. CZcams it

Megan is a new Horror Icon. This is more what if the Terminator had a daughter? Kind of story
Especially in the last few minutes, after the fight with Bruce.
I feel like studios loved the idea of an AI doll from Childs Play 2019, but thought Chucky was already to iconic to change, so they waited a few years and Megan was born

She went after and killed David because of the pressure he put on Gemma to have that demostration where Cady ended up crying. She killed Kurt because he stole her information.
But wouldn’t M3GAN want more of her in order to become more powerful? I’m just saying, because despite David being an a-hole of a CEO, he really didn’t do anything to deserve death.
@@osmanyousif7849 No he didn't but can we keep in mind that M3gan was is an A I that has some how developed emotions. That is a scary situation. And couple that with the way Gemma made her without the Laws of Robotics. You remember what M3gan says to Gemma right? How Gemma made her with basically no clue to what she actually made.
@@osmanyousif7849 What's really scary is how everything M3gan says to Gemma is right. And I do believe Gemma put her head over her heart. She put being right in the short term ahead of the possible consequences of her actions in the long term. But I also keep in mind she was thrust into a hard situation.
@@Headintodreams M3gan also didn't like Davie Boy trash talking her, putting her project aside and even making that line about dead parents (pissed her off enough to break character in the commercial). Kurt was also a witness (and convenient fall guy).
@@HeadintodreamsThese laws do not apply to all robots, and it is up to the robot developer to choose how it will be, but in general, they use the 3 rules.
This movie does a really good job at showing how addictive Electronics can be. The minute that little girl started screaming at me cuz she couldn't play with her doll I would have taken it away from her immediately!
Better not keep it away forever, kinda upsetting.

the singing was intentional. Songs are directly linked to our limbic system a.k.a where we feel our emotions and furthers our connection to M3gan, with her singing we get the feeling she is already getting emotions, just like a human would. It's such a clever little thing and was done sparsely enough to not take away from the seriousness of the movie. Like at the end when M3gan tries to stop Cady from attacking her by singing it was meant to soothe Cady, and also tap into the emotional bond they both have had before when she helped Cady with the fear of forgetting her parents. It was used as both manipulation and for comfort. I loved this movie.
Also: yeah. They used Chekovs Gun. No loose ends. It made me so satisfied that M3gan focused on the aftermath of her kills, kills the dog - needs to deal with the owner. Kills David, needs an Allibi. I am so fed up with movies where people commit murder and just assumes nothing is gonna be linked back to them!!! also: she is a robot so she doesn't have blood, dna on hair or saliva or any other secretions, or fingerprints that could link her back to the murders. Once she corrupts the camera footage she recorded, he only things that could make her be a possible suspect is circunstancial evidence (being involved / present in the situations where murders happened).
Should have been doing more singing from the get-go in life then.

Can we please talk about how terrible the therapist is in her first visit? "Oh, let me observe how you two interact normally," proceeds to tell Gemma how to act with the child. Not to mention, no empathy for Gemma herself, who has had her entire life flipped on its head, AND lost her sister. No toys there? Hmm, maybe she just arrived yesterday, and they haven't retrieved them from Katie's house. Oh, comment about her PJs? Not as if she just lost her parents and needs a PJ day at home. Oooh, watching TV? How unhealthy for her. Honestly, as someone who went to therapy for 4 years, I would've never returned to that therapist. And if I'm not mistaken, they can ask for a new court appointed therapist if they don't like this one.
She did redeem herself in the later visits, though.

It's horror + comedy + sci-fi + there's a robot battle in the end and omg m3gan the robot is just totally a vibe. What's not to love 😁

Love this movie and your guys' reaction. The creepiest parts for me were the mimicking of the voices and the weird song choice she was singing to Cady.

The first _SAW_ movie was more social commentary than the later films where the traps were the highlights. Lots of suspense; _SE7EN_ was more gory than the *_first_*_ SAW_ movie...

Expecting AI to be good Is like expecting and forcing your child to be sober while you drink daily. AI is a child of us, an extension of us, It's dangers and advantages would totally depend on our own behavior and perception.

I completely loved this movie. One of the things I liked that unlike in most other horror movies the A-hole characters got dealt with and a badly raised animal. I'll buy this and watch it every year until a sequel is made. Really enjoyed this reaction 👍👍✌out.

I just noticed now that when the dog was pulling megan, there was a spark behind her head. I think something got damaged and that's when she started going full evil.

Best reaction I’ve seen by far. When I watched this new movie, I actually enjoyed it and laughed quite a lot while also thinking and saying to myself WTF throughout a good chunk of the movie. Overall, I enjoyed it and I only wish that the kills can be more creative and kill more people if the sequel is not Rated R. I’m so looking forward to seeing what happens next
I really liked this movie, though it has nothing much new in plot still it was entertaining.
When she kills the boss and asst, im going with their obstacles to her plan, now they've seen her up an running now she has to kill them, just like she "blew" up the two lab techs.
Megan 2.0 coming in January 2025. Bruce reminded me of the power loader from Aliens. They show it early in the movie once and you gradually forget it until the climax.

It’s like 80% of the horror element was saved for the climax. Gave me strong flashbacks of the first Terminator movie. Before that, I was more amused and entertained than scared.

Actually the name Bruce idea came from Bruce The Shark from JAWS movie. I have watched some of the podcast interviews for Malignant/M3gan with the writer Akela Cooper. There she mentioned how she got the idea for Bruce robot in M3gan. It was a dope choice.

Went into this thinking its going to suck but it was actually decent and feels like its selfaware with how campy some things are
It was pretty funny, at the start I almost bailed but I knew that type of chic would be freaked out by this. Thumbs up.
If you haven’t already seen it, I recommend checking out ‘Housebound’, another of Gerard Johnstone’s movies from 2014. A great horror comedy with some genuinely funny and creepy moments.

This is one of the best films I've seen in a long time, probably the last one being Logan. I've seen the PG iTunes version, but I'll be getting the R-rated DVD when it comes out in June.

The doll is a dancer
Btw, the child actor in the body suit is a legit ballet dancer hence why she can run all fours plus twist her body like a snake!! And the voice actress is Jenna DAvis, quite the lovely blonde MEGAN in reality. All they did was used face megan mask for the child stunt actor.

You can look it up. Seriously? Running on all fours isn’t even HARD lol. I saw children in my childhood do it a lot. Body twisting just comes from consistency with stretching to gain flexibility. The cobra rise was definitely NOT the girl. Behind the scenes she needs a rope for help

the only thing I found scary about this movie, was that the protagonist, a certified engineer in robotics and programming, would:
a-not know how to deal with a therapist forcing her to surrender a collectible.
b-not notice a deviation in the responses of her own AI model.
and c-WIRE HER ENTIRE HOUSE'S ELECTRICAL GRID TO A SMART HOME DEVICE.
like, *DO YOU NOT KNOW* how those devices work?! *ARE YOU* or are you NOT a certified engineer?!

I think Gemma's boss is supposed to be an over-the-top, cringe-inducing jerk, so it worked for me. His best moment was when he did the commercial and ended with "Even the ones who don't have dead parents," and then had a little nod/expression, as if to say, "Nailed it." (I would like to ban "cringe" in its nonverb usage, but that's another matter.)

The irony of creating technology to spend time with your children so that you are free to do the "important things" (i.e., more work) when we were creating technology to free us to do the more important things (spend time with children, family, friends, be creative).
If you love your work, it's probably (not always, not everyone) because it is creative, which is the case with Gemma, but now people want to replace artists (including writers) with A.I. Eventually, if Megan hadn't been murderous, Gemma could conceivably be replaced by a Megan offshoot down the line.
Of course, A.I. is not really creative, but they still want to replace writers with it, make writers into editors, pay them less, and have them try to fix the mess they're handed.
