I watched the movie last night. It was phenomenal. Throughout the movie, I was hooked and not a second my attention was wavered.
had been hearing about this film for the past few days but didn't really look into it. saw this video, just a min or so in, i puased it and i immediately booked tickets for that evening and watched the film without watching any pre release stuff and it was completely worth it. the gripping screenplay, the casting of ashok selvan especially was so apt. sheer director brilliance throughout
Sadly this movie didn’t make it to the cinemas in Malaysia!! Eagerly waiting for OTT release. Thanks for taking the effort to promote well deserving movies!! 🫡🫡🫡

I knew about this movie when the movie crew was interviewed in Chennai Times 3 weeks before it's release and i was hyped since then... And after seeing it just increased my hype.... It's the best thriller movie in Tamil after ratchasan in my opinion and i want Vignesh Raja to continue a franchise with this after its ending
I watched this in Aruna Theatre, Bangalore. Was a decent treat, reminded me of a buddy-cop Hollywood movie 👌
Brilliant film making.. There is no movie without a flaw but the thing is how the movie engage us such that we don't notice such small flaws. One such movie is Por Thozhil. Go and watch in theaters support these kind of movies

Since it's all about psycho killer
1. New joined police hero
2. Interested in cinema/ book
3. Close relative died ( uncle daughter/ personal driver daughter)
4. Killer is found earlier but later we came to know they are not real killer ( killer mom/ sarathbabu)
5. In Climax police false predicted next victim ( twin sister/ heroine)
Its all go as template in both movies

Only flaw that i found about this movie was the car tailing/following scenes .. avalo pakathula poi follow panni kennedy notice panlaya or villain notice panlaya that he is being followed nu namba mudila.. but yeah cinematic liberty plays its part here

The reason for how the villain ended up poor from being a relative wealthy person could have been explained better with a voice over..... for me it was a bit confusing but not a flaw
I don't think the villain became poor. Maybe the shabby house might have made you think that way. In fact, even if he had actually become poor, I think we ourselves can give it a justification that his problematic personal life has affected his professional life and thus he might have lost everything he had.
Throughly engaging movie with fine performance and fantastic making. Best movie of the year. Must watch.

Many people compare Por Thozhil with Ratchasan but Ratchasan is still way ahead of Por Thozhil in all aspects, whether the way story was presented, screenplay, music suspense and unforgettable interval scene and song.
But still small movies need to be praised and applauded as the big counterparts therefore, its a must theatre watch.
As a person who watched alot of Hollywood cop stories
I did infact found Ashok sevans character and Sarath kumar's characters dynamic a little cliche. But the story line was great and all. If there was slightly more budget the visuals could have been amazing giving that serial killer movie vibes in a more artistic way? I'm not sure how to explain it but yea
Watched the film yesterday. I won't say it is flawless, there are some flaws like how the female lead could have been included in the story more often and definitely the villain's motto could have been explained in more detailed or impactful way. But the best term to describe this film was "It simply has 0 dull moments". It was engaging right from the beginning till the end. Finest film of this year

I might be the minority in the crowd here, I liked certain aspects of the movie but not overall. It was gripping at times but the overall didn’t work for me. Everything fall’s conveniently in place for the detectives and the background score takes away all the emotions. I felt like someone took the template of raktchsan and changed the characters a bit. Its not a perfect flim, subtlety was missing from the actors and dialogues.

I watched the movie today as per your suggestion without watching trailer or any review video.
I personally didnot like the movie. Normally after watching a good thriller, we will try to think if there were any loopholes. But in this case there was nothing to even analyse. Most of the things were predictable. And I felt like the focus of the script was on the character dev of the first villain whereas it didnot do justice in the case of the main villain. The part of main villain came all of a sudden and ended just like that.
So on the whole 👎
Can anyone explain whether the villains wife quarreling with him and the subsequent scene where she is seen going to a room with a man, is this happening in real time or is he thinking about it?
Not in real time, that was kinda flashback. But it did happen very recently.

Idk this film did not work for me at all.
I feel like it was trying to be too smart and the plot basically moved itself and spoon fed the plot deep down our throats.
The protagonists' way to the antagonist was way too convenient Everyone was basically them everything.
I had a feeling that the flim is vastly inspired from True detective season 1
