I'm in awe of the chords Brian plays behind the solo. The way the guitar sounds is really doing it for me, very chorussy and 'fat' yet still defined. Good sound engineers, to make 3 AC30's hum free in a recording though
Brian May was recently voted "best rock guitarist ever " to the expected barrage of nay sayers,,,,Awe no way,its Hendrix man etc etc,,,Simple,,just listen to this,,A power chord tone so huge and crisp that any metal head would kill for ,chrystal clean single coil rhythm parts,,,harmonies,,whammy tricks,,melody lines that compliment the vocal lines ,such an intelligent musician, not forgetting that screaming solo,,,,,Oh,and he wrote the song aswell,,,, Brian May is a British National Treasure.
@@lenny3167 he build his own guitar because he had no money to buy an electric guitar.his guitar was built from scraps...so he had a very cheap guitar.
Brian May is the most well respected Heavy Metal guitarist in history , the guy tears the house down with his guitars and nobody complains !! By the way ,I got last year my first treble booster, after 21 years playing, best decision ever !! You need one !
It depends, there are a lot of bands with a lot of potential and heavy music. Fortunately for us this is now how heavy is the music, it’s the beauty. It’s just amazing how this man doesn't needs to show that he can make a thousand notes per second, he just do what the song asks and make masterpieces. He is defenitely in my top 5 and is one of the best in history.
There are a lot of details here that you don't get to hear in the full album, because of everything that's going on. May's work on the bridge is beautiful - I don't know how he makes that "rising" thing (lasts around five seconds, from 2:54) but I had never noticed it.
It's tapping, it's on the first string starting (it seems to me) at the fret 13 to 15, 15 to 17, 17 to 19, 19 to 21, 21 to 22 and I think it ends at 22 to 24. I'm not sure why I didn't find no tablature in which this tapping appears to be heard. obviously what is heard clearly is the arpeggio that is located in a C major if I am not mistaken (now I do not remember if it was C or D). Sorry for my horrible english😂🇦🇷
Another alternative of what he should be doing is a hammer on and pull off between frets 3 to 5, 5 to 6, 6 to 8, 8 to 10 and I think it ends with a 10 to 12, using a Wah pedal, that goes up 1 or 2 octaves (I think), all in the first string. Of this I am not sure because I could not prove it since I do not have one of those pedals, but the form of the sound and the way of raising the tone of acute to “super-acute” at the end of that “ascent” that you mention, makes me believe that a Wah pedal is used, maybe to be sure and say "I think this guy is right" you should listen to the Like of Stone solo by Audioslave, that same one uses a Wah pedal that makes you notice that characteristic sound of it pedal. This rise in tone can be noticed in the 2:58 minute. My personal idea of what he does is, the hammer on and pull off that I mentioned earlier, use that Wah pedal (since it is not necessary to use both hands to do the technique, the left hand makes the hammer-on and pull- off, and with the right, which is usually used to strum or dot, set the pedal to raise the tone, and with the foot activates the pedal, to this we must add that there is a delay effect and also a kind of effect of Reverse delay, that is, it has the effect of delay, but what is heard from that delay is the delay but from back to front, I don't know if it is understood. If Brian May did exactly that, the truth is that he is the most guitarist Undervalued of all the fucking music history, it's too much genius in a single musician. Again, I apologize for my English. I translated everything with google.
@@Nada-hd2ko sorry dude but no Innuendo came out in February of 91 while Freddie passed away at the end of November so it is more and considering the tracka were first recorded then you add a month of two for mixing and mastering it's more than 6 months, probably a year or more

The power in the guitar is epic.
The part from 1:50 to 2:04 brought tears to my eyes... So touching and sad
I'm back to say that the slide on 2:04 is like a tear rolling down the cheek...

then a whammy pedal , studio tricks very difficult to bring to live shows

if by singing you mean live it's because the song was recorded around 6 months before Freddie died

Has anyone tabbed this???

I'm not sure if it's Brian May or Tony Iommi.
What do you mean? The song was written and composed by May, so of course it's him playing and Iommi would've been credited
