LEGO Technic Summer 2023 Sets Unveiled! NASA Perseverance 42158 & John Deere 948L-II Skidder 42157

- The LEGO Technic NASA Mars Rover Perseverance 42158 as well as the LEGO Technic John Deere 948L-II Skidder 42157 have finally, been officially unveiled! These are part of the LEGO Technic Summer 2023 August wave of sets. First, it's amazing that we are finally getting another space vehicle in LEGO Technic. The last one we got was the space shuttle of 1996. Hopefully, there will be many more LEGO Technic space vehicles. Also, the LEGO Technic 42157 is awesome due to it featuring pneumatics! LEGO Technic pneumatics are always legendary!

Corrections:
Blue Bolide will release on June 1st; not August 1st
John Deere is $200 USD but €190
Perseverance rover is $100 but €95
I am honest the blue bolide is kinda sad it's just a recolor after all it should have released in way more colours with the yellow bolide in janurary
these sets look great, I want a smaller set additionally though feels like they were both medium-big sets
Summer is always for the big sets, while winter is for the smaller sets

Altough Technic only in constructin and not in theme, 7471-1 - Mars Exploration Rover seems to be the "predecessor" to the 42158 NASA Mars Rover perseverance. It would be awsome to see them compared.

As someone that worked on designing the actual 948 Skidder, not the Lego, I can say the actual Skidder does not have suspension, so the Lego probably won't either. The engine frame axle oscillates, and that functionality was shown in the promotional video.
I almost never buy lego anymore sadly, but i do watch all your videos and enjoy seeing my old hobby of lego technic still being so alive. I am gonna get that Mars rover though in August, I have to!

I hope the John Deere will be available on the free market and not exclusive to Lego. With let's say a 30% discount it sounds interesting. The Rover sounds ok in terms of price. Will be exciting to see the reviews. Is that all for this year or can we expect to get the Liebherr Crane later this year?

I think the John Deere will have a functional suspension. Look at this photo 3:07. The rear wheel is bent.
We are also getting these dark gray pneumatic cylinders from the LEGO Technic Material Handler set. I think I'm more excited for the new LEGO Technic John Deere because I'm a big fan of John Deere machines. But of course I'm glad to see another LEGO Technic space set. It is finally something different than just cars.

The mars discovery rover from 2003 was pretty awesome! Wasn’t a technic line but every part was technic. Got to get this one

My 42110 axle is aligned correctly but the engine has a MASSIVE delay. How do you fix it?
I am not sure. Try reducing the friction in your gearbox

While the perseverance rover looked supremely ugly, I think it will make up for it for it's functions!
And the tractor looks absolutely amazing and I will definitely be getting it because of the differential and pneumatics!
I don’t think that the perseverance rover looks ugly. I think it looks great. Looks are subjective though.
@Unbrickme OK, not ugly per se in my opinion just doesn't look good with all those gears and shafts hanging out but like I said, make up for it in functions! 👍

The Perseverance set is so cool and the John Deere tractor is really cool too although it's quite overpriced. I think Im gonna pick up the mars perseverance set instead

John Deere looks awesome, but that price is terrifying. I'm just finishing the 42128 heavy tow-truck now - that also has pneumatics, but has 500 pieces more and a MSRP 10€ less.

@@Unbrickme I'm rather new to lego and don't currently plan to buy everything or buy things immediately on release, so I can wait until I know more before getting excited :) But right now I'd give the edge to Perseverance, if only on account of the price/part ratio.
