#TalkToMe #A24 - Krátké a kreslené filmy
This is easily the best part of the movie. The music, the acting, the chaos, the highness, THE SINGING. All of it is perfect.
Honestly. This legit was the best part of the movie, tho I wouldn't call them high. I'd say it's more like drugs since Im pretty sure the whole possession thing is an allegory for getting addicted to drugs. The euphoric high before the dependency, especially from the MC.
I love the music and when the back girl trips lol. Did you see her try to bite him 😂
I LOVE the singing
@@Cy-Fiso high?
When ever I feel the need of this vibe I come here ! addictive :)
This scene was clever. Aside from the shots and edits, it makes you realize that this is just dumb fun and it made me feel that if I was actually there, I might actually try grabbing the hand. Sets up the next scene perfectly. Don't do drugs kids.
Yea, this was a great little movie. I'm on methadone, I definitely understood very quickly it was doubling for drug addiction.
My only qualm is the "euphoria" of having a dead person habituating your body. I just can't get that logic to work for me - but still a very good movie.
Also I think it's more realistic you'd just stop at the first request - talk to me. I find it odd nobody seemed curious enough about the afterlife to actually talk to the dead, outside of the little girl.
It's was not a little movie
fr bro
Unless they're free
I find it very unnerving how the kids are super playful and upbeat, yet the spirits that possess them are angry and terrified.
Fr one of the spirits was angry and probably threatened to kill everyone at 1:25 and other spirits cry for help at 0:43 and 0:57 and the college kids don't even care they treat it as a game it's sad because they're playing with spirits who are in pain and terrified or just straight up evil and vengeful
@@tiannalogan9712that’s the point college kids looked at it as dumb fun
theyre getting high from it so i guees they don't care xD
Yeah. It’s such a good portrayal of young people. 😢
@@LoneWulf278no it's not, I have never been that stupid
imagine being summoned from the after life and you,re forced to stay strapped in someones body while high teens laugh at and record you lmao
I'd probably smash my head off a table multiple times
I'd make them feel hell for this, scare them shitless and torment
Yeah I’d probably try to bite them too
f*ckin stupid teens and their peer pressure
@@turkeyleg1I saw your comment before watching the movie. And made a hell lot of sense after watching it
This scene lives rent free in my head now. Everything about it is so good.
Same. And actually I would want to have that hand and to be in that vibe with friends 😁
This is hands down the best edited scene of of 2023. The timing of each shot in tune with the beat of the music, the movment of the action matching the melody of the song. This is an example of competent film makers having fun with the editors.
You get it !!!
love rackaracka so much. they deserved the success of this film
Whoop whoop
What is ellen degeneres doing in this comment section
Couldn't agree more. This was a sick scene, it's been in my head ever since I've seen it. The music and lip syncing is phenomenal.
This scene was even better in the movie theater when the bass was bumping and the theater was shaking. Such a fun ride!
Ugh yo I really wish I went. Everything is better in the movies
the way mia's singing perfectly overlays with the rest of the track,,, omg 😍
For those curious about the music; it’s actually the music that accompanies the French song that Mia is singing. It is “ La Foule” by Édith Piaf.
Ow thank u i really liked it, and wanted it
Gringos enjoying La Foule? Weird
@@francescomartini8837 I would say “Someone being judgmental about someone because of their race? Weird.” But, unfortunately, that’s not very “weird” at all. Judgmental people are a dime a dozen.
@@joejones8776 Imma Say u right
@@francescomartini8837 Great music transcends language and culture! If people can’t bond over music (or food) then there’s something wrong with them!
I want to talk to the ghost who decided to use their possession time to have a mini french concert lol
Lol this spirit seemed to have fun
What i love about this scene is the music that somehow described what's happening in this scene pretty good which is happiness, anger, sadness and probably anxiety, the "spirits" action was also very funny but some of them were pretty sad in my opinion like this one 0:43 which i assume is a grown person who pretty much figured out that they were dead and decided to pray with the fear of going to hell
i just noticed that! it's so freaky
Yeah translated shes saying “please please” in Spanish and after at 0:57 another one is crying saying “my sister”
@@trish2528 that just made it even sadder :(
Yeah the end of it she becomes a spirit herself
Shot in a 4 hour period. Rackaracka said that they were insane enough to film all this scene portion in a short period of time.
The nods to substance abuse in this scene are captured very well, like tightening the strap on the chair how heroin addicts do on their arms, slamming the hand on the table like you do when you down shots etc - excellent scene, all fits together perfectly
When you realise the spirits who made them cried werent malicious, but stuck in limbo, and probably got confused when suddenly faced with a bunch of laughing teens holding devices with a bright light in front of them
You can hear Hayley begging for her mom while doing the cross. It's a game to them, though.
This scene was insane! Yes it has amazing editing, and incredible writing, music , acting but Jesus what it does best is mirror how teens now use drugs/vapes as toys and are purely in it for the high and fun/fame that comes with doing something everyone else is doing. We yearn for human connection and feeling like we are a part of something. It’s human nature and this scene perfectly encapsulated that! The kids did it cuz everyone else was doing it and it looked cool and they got a rush/ thrill out of it they kept going until they couldn’t go back
I swear you summed it up perfectly I was like yeah it's all fun and games until these kids get lost for good and boy was I right😔 This movie was crazy
Plus the recording of eachother to post online the same way teens would to someone who is really drunk/high at a party.
Mia would be an awesome villain if she’s in the sequel.
I think the directors are planning to make one
but mia dead
@@DaPinkBratzdoll obviously.. but as a demon.
@@MikeNapoli1989 coooll
@@DaPinkBratzdoll they’re probably going to bring a new cast of characters, maybe one one them will be possessed by Mia
One of my favorite bits in the movie! Really immersive and gets you comfortable with the hand just like the teens who either don’t realize it’s true danger or willingly ignore it for the sake of having fun. Really makes you feel like you’re in the room with them, and your energy changes right along with them when Riley starts violently bashing his head on the table. It’s such a fun scene, but sad to think about how Mia ended up just like them and are just scared spirits trapped in limbo looking for anything but the voids they’re trapped in. Great film.
This scene works so well because this is the party montage in all party movies except for drugs and alcohol they playin demons 😂
Another thing I feel this movie has done very well is the title. Not only is Talk to Me the name of the game, but if her friends just sat down and listened to her (like in the beginning when Mia was desperate to talk about the Kangaroo) she might have gotten help. I’m not saying it’s her friends fault, but much like the gamble with letting the kangaroo live to maybe heal and hop away, maybe this could have naturally prevented Mia from relying on such dark methods of comfort.
Talk to your friends, especially when something like death in the family happens. They tell you they’re fine but in my case it was because I didn’t know how to admit I wasn’t okay, and that nearly took my life.
I hope you're doing ok now (Espero que estés mucho mejor ahora. Mis fuerzas para ti :3)
@@tuquequeblindado8161 thank you for the comment!! I’m doing much better and have a much easier time communicating with my friends. It’s a two way street, letting them know I’m struggling lets them know to keep an eye out and check in on me more.
They're using the contacting the spirits as a HIGH
That's very original thinking from the writers.
Not decades have passed, and this scene is already legendary.
Music. Message. Both intoxicating. Let yourself loose with friends, relax into the abyss of the mess and then seek the consequences. Beauty and poetry in motion.
How many of y'all love how all the scenes top max drama with the clap beat in the background!!!???🤣🤣🤣 ESPECIALLY Joss part clapping with the beat then pop locking to the clap beat!!!! I love it this scene was so we'll put together!!!!!!
I just realized that blowing the candle is basically removing the orienteer for ghosts like was shown at the ends when she was lost in complete darkness and saw the light of the candle but we also see that space and time don’t work there same as in our word - she was on the road and then in the hospital and then… she was in Greece.
Can’t tell who’s scarier, the kids or the demon at this point.
A24 never disappoints me honestly and this being rakaka twins first actual horror film damn was it enjoyable A24 really let’s people give their full on visions with no strings attached
A24 don’t really produce film, they buy them. They had no input into the production of this film.
They never disappoint in the films they buy and distribute. a FACT@@missm1548
A24 Distributes not Make them Lol
@@AmbroseAretz In most instances, that is correct.
yeah sometimes they make hem but 9 times out 10 they distribute or fund them@@missm1548
20 years of watching films and this is the hardest montages I have ever seen
0:43 left me so damn disturbed just thinking about all of the implications of that short scene that I could not sleep for like a week afterwards
this movie was honestly so much better than I ever expected, hope to see more from them
This movie is amazing, a great original horror film that takes tropes we know well and turns them on their head! I think this should be regarded among recent greats like Hereditary and Get Out.
This scene is fantastic and also the last fun thing to ever happen lol
This movie rocks.
Im not saying like it was the best acting but truly this scene was weirdly beautiful, the music, the tone and the concept of this movie was unique. A24 NEVER FAILED 💥
i feel like the acting is the best it could’ve been for this scene specifically
Everything about it this scene is amazing! The music, the shots, the acting. Just wow.
Hands down one of the best parts!!
This scene of the movie got me so hyped up. I was laughing with them 😂😂
nah fr 😆
Nah this scene had me smiling ear to ear and made me want to join in ngl.. especially when Mia started singing in French i lost it! It goes so well with the music playing and now this instrumental will be on repeat for me 🤭.
The song choice, the cinematography, the makeup, the acting, the sound fx I mean this scene told me everything I needed to know about this film, such a clever premise and execution, I've seen it now 5 times!!!..
I legit bought the 4K steelbook of it
The French ghost that decided to do this is totally talented. 😂. Mia is a gem.
The way they make everything line up so perfectly from :17 - :27 is pure gold
This scene, through it’s editing, music and energetic acting really makes you feel like you’re alongside them just feeling overwhelming joy. It’s a very thrilling and well made scene which was much needed to get that real punch in the gut once things go south.
I actually didn't feel much joy when watching this. I had an odd ill feeling. All I could see was a bunch of people fooling themselves into thinking what they were doing was fun and harmless. Best I can describe it is like... watching a delusion from an outsiders perspective.
@@chrischristiansen7384 Your feelings are valid in this scene. In my opinion, we're supposed to feel ill and worried about what's happening in this scene. It was meant to be that way. I have the same feelings when I first watched this. In the scene, they're having fun and thinks that it is harmless to mess with the spirits and all they can think of at that moment was "Wow this is fun and hilarious" while in our perspective, we feel ill about the situation and what they were doing. We know that what they were doing was wrong. This scene is brilliantly made. If it makes you feel this way than it's perfect and I believe that's what the directors wants you to feel while watching this scene.
This movie reminded me a lot of those videos of people doing Salvia. Everybody filming someone tripping and laughing, while the person tripping is having possibly the most life altering, profound or terrifying experience of their life. Not only that, but the blatant disrespect towards the plant, treating it like it's a joke. I remember I did salvia and my friends filmed it, and I pleaded with them to delete it, as the experience was so personal to me. The whole time I was watching the movie I couldn't stop thinking about the hand being a metaphor for Salvia 😂. And yes, that drug can really mess some people up and ruin your life if you're not ready.
That's exactly what I was thinking, too! Except I had dmt in mind. 😂❤
@@adamafam4412I also thought of dmt
One of the coolest scenes I’ve ever watched
Sophie Wilde reminds me of Eartha Kitt when she starts singing.
This is such a perfect movie and should end right here without a sequel... But i'd be lying if I say i wouldn't be excited if they manage to release the sequel
You want the movie to end after this clip? Kinda dumb ngl

Excited? 🤔
@@Leoprincess3038 yes, and?
@@muzibal66 it's hilarious that you're getting smart, and can't spell 😂..."I'll edit my comment and then reply to her" genius of the century here lmao
The boy wants to play with the hand when he know he’s going to get possessed felt like a very stupid idea
But this scene managed set up that decision, they make it so fun, addictive, funny, etc. That you, the viewer, would probably joins them if you’re with them
The editing and acting was on point 🔥
The music 👏🏾
The message 🏆
Can’t stop rewatching this.
being on a movie set multiple times and knowing it’s just all acting and just flavored air makes the scene so much better for me
OH MY GOD I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS SCENE TO COMNE OUT SOMEWHERE. I LEFT THE MOVIE THEATRE MONTHS AGO AND THE FIRST THING I SEARCHED WAS FOR THIS MONTAGE!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
My favorite scene I’ve seen in theaters all year.
Fr 1:26
I came to the movie late (it's March 2024 currently) and after watching it I am convinced it was the best horror movie of 2023. It's smart, frightening, clever and unpredictable. Held my attention like a vice might do, and filled me with a sense of dread the whole time. Good film making, and a perfect ending.
Plus, I was already familiar with the old song by chanteuse Edith Piaf (it's on a playlist/mixtape I had once made of retro standards and gems, inspired by records my Dad used to have back in the day) ... so imagine my surprise when _this scene_ comes on--- when you already know the tune. I was grinning ear to ear. So fun.
Can't get enough of this scene!!!
I assume Mia summon the spirit of Edith piaf ( the original french singer of the melodie 'la foule' 1:02) clever and realty fun 😊
This scene was done beautifully big ups
They put so much HEART into this scene!
This montage was well done can’t wait to c the movie
my favorite scene in the movie. just so much fun
last words "that never gets old", very befitting
Definitely a gem. Easily the best paranormal/supernatural movie I've seen in years, very clever too, fun how you notice things differently..a little more clear, makes multiple watches fun! 😊
Perfectly parallels teenage drug use and the situations that invite escalation until someone overdoses.
Movie making storytelling is alive - brilliant scene! 🔥
Perfect scene
this scene is art. everything fits together perfectly
this scene was amazing
Bet you didn't notice this. The spirit didn't need an invitation anymore. She jumped in and out of her when she wanted to. 1:07
how?
Literally my favorite part of the movie!!!
i didn't expect this at all! what a cool scene
The level of energy and realness from the character Joss, is unfuckin' believable!! I love it!
It’s crazy this is there first films as directors cause it’s shot like they’ve been filming big budget films like pros.
I wish all horror movies were like talk to me
Dentro de 10 años esto va a ser icónico de esta época
Probably one of my favorite scenes this year
