    Agree with other comments - not a chance I could have done this repair without your step-by-step tutorial. I've never attempted appliance repair before but I was able to do it after watching your video! Thank you so much! The mounting of the drain pump in my washer was slightly different, but thanks to your explanation of the parts and connections as you were working I was able to figure it out. The only trouble I ran into was trying get the door boot strap back on by hand the way you showed, so I fashioned a spring expander from a reversible ratchet clamp and some nylon string (courtesy of another appliance repair website), but I'm ordering one of those tools right now to have for the future. Much appreciated!

    wow, i have been looking for a video like this where the front panel is one unit that has to be removed. you made this daunting nightmare so easy to understand and accomplish. thank you for the details. Not that complicated except the round wire door thing, several tries and frustrating. Manufacturers need to make a better design for that.

  • @RobHnasko
    @RobHnasko Před 4 lety +8

    To anyone about to do this simple repair, if you have the space to safely tilt your machine, I highly recommend doing this repair from underneath. It might require a 2nd person and sufficient space, but it is so much less work. The bottom of the washer is wide open so you can reach in to access the pump without disassembling the top, front, or remove the tub seal. You have better access to get pliers on the hose clamps and you will also have the opportunity to take off and clean out the black rubber drain pipe that gets clogged with gunk.

    Great job. I just did it. Probably isn’t too big of a deal, but I did also transfer over the drain pump motor cover (white) from the old part. Also a good tip for people with this issue, is to check all the drain hoses for build up. Mine were gunked up with soap buildup, etc. Flushing the drain hose will prevent strain on the new unit.

    • @MikkoRantalainen
      @MikkoRantalainen Před 3 lety

      Yeah, I was wondering that, too. I guess that cover really doesn't do anything because if your washing machine starts leaking water to that area, you'll have much bigger problems but just a failed pump motor. If anything, that cover could cause the pump to overheat easier because it cannot dissipate the heat because of the cover.

I like to add something else I have the same washing machine when i was tiling the bathroom I removed the drain connection from the sink at this time one little pieces fall from this stoplock system and I didn't noticed .So when I connected washing machine back I was sure all ok so afew days after machine wasn't working properly, stopping just before drain and error code was displays Than a few time same thing happen .I watch youtube decided my pump is need to replace then I order one pump but I remember something.. Is there any way to test the pump before replace to it . Then what I did .I pull the little drain tubes next to draining filter on the lowest part of the washmachine (use e container )and I set the MACHINES knob to drain and I started the washing machine I sow water was started flowing powerful so that's the way I understand my draining motor was ok no needed to replace .I check the sink connection I founded the missing part IN THE STOPLOCK that is a valve with a stopper spring wasnt opening the way When machine IS draining the water.Short cut before you change your pump test it if the pump is faulty as I explained .Could be some blockage on the waste pipe as in my case. My LG washer has the same OE error. I took mine apart, drain pump was testing 14 on the multimeter so it was still good.(I think at least) I took the propeller out of the pump itself and it was filled with dirty black gunk. Besides that, I can't tell or figure out why I can't get it to drain and not get the OE error. I do know whenever it does drain, it smells awful like sulfur. Not sure what to do. I took the hose that drains into the pipe out of the house off and tried to clean that out too, still getting the OE error. Is my pump the only option that would make it not drain then? No kinks in hose, it's clean & the filter at the bottom is clean.

      It is not stupid. I don't have the room to tilt it back far enough. That's the first thing I tried.Machine is in a very tight location. Had to be lifted and carried about 2feet high and 2 feet back to be installed. Very goodvideo
