    Hi I'm Mattsuki and WELCOME to "CALL OF DUTY IS DEAD!!!" Or just "the Dead Era of COD we find ourselves in currently 😅" Call of Duty will never die in player count, it has name recognition and going free to play will also revive it if old cod fans drop off. But that's the point! We die hard cod fans are expendable if it means gaining a new childish audience(with lots of money to spend)that doesn't value any integrity cod used to have. So many things have been taken away at this point, the meaning behind camos is gone, knowing how to play cod maps(skill) that aren't the size of shitment is brain rot(people don't want to improve, and that's not just due to sbmm), etc... but today, there is a new growing problem. Each year they are making the last cod extremely unappealing to the point you are encouraged to play the newest... which should NOT be the case with a call of duty hub app. So yeah, Call of Duty is Dead, here's why

      I agree with basically everything you’re saying, plus my own personal thoughts about this modern era of COD. But there’s no way you enjoy MWII more than MWIII. That game has so many unforgivable flaws and cements IW as the worst studio in the modern era. MWIII is better in most ways, especially multiplayer

MWII at least feels complete rn. But yeah, I will get back to you on that answer in my next vid

    I think that cod is dead inside, just an empty shell, because of the new wave of players who are just kids who don't care about anything serious, just pretty skins, adrenaline from killing anything that moves and, well, let's just say that the old players are just in the nursing home worried about changing their geriatric diapers, so activision, well, doesn't care

      "Buy the new best shiny skins, buy Blackcell, play the newest cod only, play tiny maps 24/7, get xp, get camos, repeat"
      Cod is in such a bad state which is why I will be holding off my purchase of the next game. I don't care if it got 4 years of dev time, I'd rather buy it at Black Friday/Boxing Day so I can't support it as much. If it's worth supporting, well I might buy a skin that's priced like this is a free to play game anyway

      After bocw, they made 1 map for Vanguard(literally just 1 new map for the entire year...) for mwii, ranked play(which is nothing hard, it is banning most stuff in the game, watering down what already exists), for mwz they modified a BR map. It was said a small fraction of the mp crew worked on Vanguard zombies. I can't imagine ranked takes long to make. Mwz I have no idea but it also reused a lot of DMZ and BOCW assets. Mwz, ranked and 1 Vanguard map combined is so minuscule when compared to a regular full release. Treyarch are still on a 4 year cycle and have no excuses imo.

    I feel the same way, I have pretty much become apathetic towards COD now.
    In a way, I feel similarly towards most new multiplayer games, they all look and feel the same to me.
    Recently, I switched over to story-based single-player games, mostly because these games are actually focused on creating an experience and not on cheap micro transactions.
    I wanted to make that switch for a few years now, and with the release of MWIII, it felt like a great time to do so.

    • @Mattsuki
      @Mattsuki  Před 3 měsíci +2

      What single player games have you gotten into if I may ask?
      And yes it is a pretty good time to move away from cod rn. I hear it's really not doing that well on youtube in general this year(unless you're one of those bundle showcase channels...) and I sure as heck ain't enjoying it like I used to. The new maps are good(that aren't 2v2 sized) but I can't with these mtx anymore and awful strategies to ruin the previous games on this cod hub...
      R6S has been treating me well. Yes there's some silly skins buuuut in practice, most players aren't using them because being hidden is actually the meta. Recently got helldivers 2 too and it's decent fun so far(haven't played much yet)

      @@MattsukiThe Division 2 was honestly a lot of fun and has a satisfying gameplay loop. I wouldn't expect much in terms of MP possibilities though. Pretty sure the player count is super low.
      On PS5 the game Returnal is probably one of the most addicting shooting games I've played with satisfying gameplay an intriguing story and an awesome arcade mode. It can be a bit Cryptic and difficult at 1st but a super slept on PS5 exclusive (released early in life cycle). Doom Eternal is an awesome single player FPS and the DLCs for it are super satisfying and challenging. Helldivers 2 is probably the most fun MP I've played recently. Really just depends what time of games u like. If u like CoD though I fogured shooters wld be up ur alley.
      I really just keep COD for Zombies now and I was really excited with the direction it went during CW. A new story, refined gameplay and better accessibility (especially for solo play). Since then though they leaned hard into Outbreak which just feels like Warzone Zombies and that initial excitement has really died down.
      I'm with you on CoD dying. I dont know if any specific moment is all to blame. Probably Warzone but still that added something fresh, new and exciting. It's really just the monetization at this point. Everything Is made with the goal of micro transactions and money. The passion just feels gone. WaW made the entire.Zombies mode just for the fun and excitement of it and hid it behind the campaign. You wld never see anything like that today. Like the video though and got yourself a new Sub. Sorry for the long post lol.

    I'd argue there are two "dead-eras" in COD:
    - Infinite Warfare to BO4 (Worse)
    - Vanguard to MWIII
    Franchise interest at an all time low during Infinite Warfare and BO4. Horrible ass games

    • @Mattsuki
      @Mattsuki  Před měsícem +1

      Ww2 to bo4 were definitely a dead era for me and I really tried playing those games too. Cod iw is honestly an underrated gem, it got hate from a reveal trailer instead of people actually hating the gameplay it offered(it's close to bo3 minus the pay to win aspect for the most part) and iw appeals to the BOTG crowd cuz it has a tactical moshpit for no jetpacks. It was designed from the ground up too(new movement system).
      And yeah Vanguard and mwiii for sure, even mwii/cw to some extent I'd say

  • @zekothedraco333
    @zekothedraco333 Před 3 měsíci

    I could list hundreds of things wrong with cod these days but I'll only list a few.
    1. Vaulting gamemodes just to add them later to make them seem & feel "new"
    2. Heavy focus on microtransactions instead of releasing new content
    3. Buggy gameplay (this one is more for campaign, certain missions not having proper lighting and other similar issues)
    4. Weak Campaigns (I can't speak for the new mw3 but the new mw2 was a complete let down in taking risks by killing off main characters, although I do still enjoy the new mw2 & believe it plays out well I do still think the original will always be better)
    5. Open World Zombies (they really thought we would like them to remove everything from zombies we enjoyed but leave outbreak with only one map, it just seems extremely low effort to me when you note that cold war had zombies & outbreak zombies with multiple maps for both, Idk about you but I would've prefered the original zombies style or maybe a mesh of special ops & zombies in one)
    6. Multiplayer (honestly multiplayer is the only thing left that is solid but is it worth purchasing the whole game just for that? Along with that do you really wanna be forced to play a specific meta you may not even like? Or deal with pay to win players that buy darker skins to be less noticable or buy gun blueprints/ the battlepass to have an early edge with the new meta
    7. My final point is the cheaters it just gets hard to want to play a game when every few lobbies you get in someone is just lazer beaming your whole team through every surface.

    I am going to give one LAST chance to the new Black Ops since now they're free from Uncle Bobby's tampering, but if they manage to mess it up too then i'm out.
    I played COD religiously up until 2017 with Zombies Chronicles and WWII, and i stopped playing until MW19 which showed genuine progess and improvement, just to be completely thrown out of the window with Cold War and Vanguard, the new Black Ops is the LAST STRAW for me, if it turns out as yet another mediocre Warzone DLC then i'm quitting COD once and for all, Black Ops 2 is still completely enjoyable on PC with Plutonium either way.

    • @Mattsuki
      @Mattsuki  Před 3 měsíci +2

      I should try out bo2 Plutonium someday, that sounds like a lot of fun!
      And yeah, all of my irl friends that enjoyed zombies are saying this is Treyarch's last chance too. 4 year dev cycle for this next game... it's the most any cod studio has ever gotten, there's just no excuses for it being bad... I'm already checking myself out of the multiplayer side, I'll be getting cod on sale from now on and if it's good, I might buy 1 bundles but that's it. The constant metrics chasing is just squeezing all the life and personality from cod and it's hardcore fanbase. Next zombies needs a crew, not more generic operator skins. Multiplayer needs a theme to stick to. Campaign should stay away from zombies, don't connect them cuz it devalues everything going on in the campaign, zombies are just a bigger more interesting threat.
      Here's to hoping it's good 🥂

    i think the one thing that will save cod is just cod itself listening to the fucking community, this is the reason fortnite hasn't died yet

    • @Mattsuki
      @Mattsuki  Před 3 měsíci

      I mean they do but also cod is just too large. The cod community covers 2v2, 6v6, shipment 24/7, s&d, 6v6 all the way to 32v32 ground war fans... then there's who they try to appeal to every year(for mw19: immersion fans, classic cod enjoyers, all playstyles are viable... for bo4: competitive players + small cheap kills for noobs with op specialists). The Cod community is spread too thin to listen to everyone. This year with mwiii they tried listening to all the negative feedback towards mwii and implemented it into mwiii.
      Fortnite on the other hand only really has Build Mode, No Build Mode, and Creative Mode. Pretty easy community to manage.

  • @theladthatknowsstuff9901
    @theladthatknowsstuff9901 Před 3 měsíci +1

    I think its too early to tell if they're making old games obsolete. The only 2 games that didn't get DLC after the next game (Vanguard and MWII) were both failures, and were not pulling in the numbers that MW19 and BOCW were. If MWIII keeps going strong, and still doesn't get any updates, then maybe.
    And the Warzone era was weird. I liked all of the games, all for different reasons, but none of them felt like they were in the same franchise. One was a slower and more tactical modern shooter, one was a more old-school and faster arcade shooter, and the 3rd one was a mix of the two, a faster paced shooter with the opportunity to go fast or tactical, and succeed either way. (You'll never guess which one I liked most...)
    Also, Activision didn't take down the Boiii client. They only took down clients that had MW2 (2009) maps and content in it (Right before releasing a game with all MW2 (2009) maps in it... 🤔) Every other client shut down just to play it safe.

    • @Mattsuki
      @Mattsuki  Před 3 měsíci

      I actually never heard mwii wasn't doing well. I heard Vanguard underperformed sales because people were bored of ww2 pre-launch. Mwiii I've heard has underperformed by 30% but I can't verify that 😅 maybe people were using steam charts to compare mwii to mwiii? Which would make sense cuz if the player count is even lower this year, that's bad(cuz the cod hub app includes players still on mwii on steam, not just mwiii).

    • @Mattsuki
      @Mattsuki  Před 3 měsíci

      I loved mw19
      I loved bocw zombies. Mp had pretty good gameplay too when people didn't outgun you with cheesy stuff that negates the longer ttk
      Vanguard was alright imo. I enjoyed the gameplay until the cosmetics started getting weirder(same case this year for mwiii as well). Then people started using the automaton all the time so I tried it too and it's just essential 😔 there's a lot of good and bad I can say about Vanguard, even cw and mw19 but I'd argue mw19 has the least problems of the 3 for mp

      MWIII has undersold, but the player counts are going strong, at least from what I’ve seen and understand
      And it’s clear they wanted everyone to move from MW2 to MW3, like it was DLC. It’s very similar to the situation the Pokémon Company had with Sun and Moon, and Ultra Sun and Moon. People thought SM were underwhelming, and when they released basically remakes a year later, people said that they made us buy a Beta for full price, only to release the “complete game” as another full price game.
