You dont have to only use a dropper to give them water. I just mist the cage every few days and make sure to mainly mist the sides so they can drink the water off the glass.
It reminded me of those little water bottles for hamsters and mice 😛 In the last video when he put drops of water on the moss, I thought that Giuseppe would drink from that. 🤷♀️ Never thought I'd find a mantis adorable.
You do manage to show an apparent quirky nature to the mantis which many of us humans find charming. And then if we are temporarily bored, your handsome blue- eyed cat adds interest as well
I used to own a praying mantis when i was in highschool. Mine had wings. It was part of a science project my teacher did. He bought hundreds of mantis eggs and when it hatched. Each student took a baby mantis home to care for it. Great memories.

Fun Fact: Spider are helpful to the environment since they keep the moth, mosquito and fly population down. So next time you see a spider dont kill it just be grateful that there isnt a swarm of flies and mosquitoes on your yard.
I once raised a female black widow. I regret I did not record videos, because it was awesome to watch her feed. She was very methodical. And I named her Itsy. She died during the winter because the local pet shops ran out of crickets and she starved to death. But she was quite beautiful.
When I have had my first mantis whith me, I was 7 years I think ! Lot of photography and admiration, lot of mantises... And after : freedom for mantises !! 😊
"Mantises can grow huge compared to his current size." Yeah, no kidding. I've only ever seen one wild mantis in person, and it was even longer than that millipede was. Even then, I've seen footage of mantises even larger than the one I saw.
That's the smallest mantis I've ever seen. A Mantis will eat anything it can grab. I had a pet one when I was a kid and grasshoppers were its favorite.
I have had a few mantises and never gave them water, they can actually get the water they need from the bodies of the bugs they eat. I had one that actually lived for over two years which is something since they are not supposed to live that long but weird stuff happens in captivity.
I also raised a couple of mantids. It started when I noticed our Christmas tree had lots of tiny light green specks. I raised a bunch of them until they started attacking each other, so I then let them go except one. I fed him/her for months, then set it free to fly away.
My dad told me when he was my age , I’m 10 btw , he told me that in his traditional country kids in his traditional country like him would collect insects and watch them battle.
I just wanna remind next time soak the plants that you found in anti bacterial solution in case you forget. I want to see the mantis vs cockroach (not malboro) in next episode please
Before you get too worried, remember that there are millions of mantids and other insects that live their lives in environments rich with bacteria. They do not worry about washing the plants they live on. We are the only organism that worries about sanitizing everything we sit on or eat off of.
When I saw the Giuseppe skin, I just smiled as Slivki freaked out, as I was used to it from my old pet grasshoppers, scared the crap out of my when it moulted.
@@wahid28 Well, Marlboro would be dead when Guiseppe is already an adult. Also Guiseppe is a male and adult males are usually a lot more timid and they can be easily scared rather than females.

Sad thing is, Guiseppe has probably passed away and there's been very little updates since these 2 videos of him. Their life expectancy is usually 1 year. I love your videos, but you have tendency to start a series and never finish, sadly.

I really need that sound effect

except the eating part - 🤮
That is a Geophilidae centipede, NOT a millipede.
Scary 😰😰😰
I assume they dont get eaten by mantises very often
Who cares
I was looking for this comment lol. I don't know much about insects, but I knew that was a centipede

Thats how we should still teach kids
Like all insects, mantises grow wings when they become adults!
Giuseppe's Embrace sounds like either the title of an Italian romance novel or a euphemism for death by asphyxiation.
Ok mantis, your next opponent is fighting with panda.
