The issue with this is the western powers played big games on this party from assassination of their leader to funding people to divide the party because it's ideology is the biggest threat to imperialism..but it still held strong. This party needs to get out of Lebanese politics and start working on the ground instead of trying to win votes that's the only way this party will come to rise again because the ideology is amazing and can never die but making the wrong moves will bring its support down

So they believe Lebanon and Syria should be united along with other states. As for the relations with Syria under Hafiz al-Assad and Bashar al-Assad, they are complicated as on the one hand they have common enemies and on the other they have different understandings of nationalism and of socialism. Just one difference is that Assad's Ba'ath party follows Arab nationalism, it believes the whole Arab world should be united in a single nation, while the SSNP wants a new Assyrian Empire. Still, they can coexist, greater Syria could be a state in a future Arab federation.
