The physics of these waves is frightening when one thinks that each cubic metre is one metric ton of weight. There are a huge amount of tons in each of those waves.

That said, I’d love some more Portuguese being spoken in the video (at least for the interviews with Portuguese).
I guess, subtitles provided, it could really make the documentary and interview parts much more authentic and enjoyable. Fully aware that Portuguese speak English super well a lot of the personality gets lost in translation.

Really crazy, 30 years ago there were very few vacationers in Nazare at the lighthouse. Nobody could imagine what is going on there now. We spent a week there with our VW T2 Baywindow and had a wonderful time in solitude.

Been to Portugal last summer and rode some "big" waves for my lvl (around 2.5-3.5m) however they are infinitely stronger than most waves I encountered in France (even with the same height). I've been ejected by a wave during a strong set and I felt drowning like insane, never before.
So now when I watch you guys riding big wave monsters like these and fall I get crazy anxious I feel my heartbeat spiking. How do you guys manage such crashes ? Honest question it's like IDK how you do it, I think you don't fear death but even me I was quite chill about that and after my crash it made me realize it's not as simple as that.
I would love some feedback on the subject because I admire you guys riding such waves it's a whole new world, I think nobody can understand what you go through. Cheers !

I saw the waves on Facebook and maybe CZcams from 2010: I’m not sure about the date but it’s when I started to find social media and CZcams providing a content which was rather new.
Thank you for taking us to town. I wonder about the local opinion of the tourism? Obviously, some are capitalizing but what about that 50 year old fisherman who has been living there his entire life?
