- My sister came over for the big game and made her famous Green Papaya Salad. It’s a Loa’s version of papaya salad, but we did change it up a bit and added cilantro. You can also add shrimp, peanuts and rice noodles. It’s a great side dish to serve with grilled meat and sticky rice. My mom makes a similar salad but she uses super green unripened Mangos instead of papaya. Also no shrimp paste for her version with just Lime/lemon,Fish sauce, crushed garlic,pepper flakes and little bit sugar. Thinking of this is making me crave it now lol.

Stopped at a very popular Mexican style food drive thru in my area tonight to get one of their awesome burritos, they put a ton of cilantro in our burritos & we were so happy. I could eat cilantro every day no problem.

One of the first things my mother taught me to make and taught me how to balance the ingredients for my preference of flavor. More lime, more spice, more bitter with padeak. I love it ❤

Don't ever apologize for tweaking papaya salad. I'm in Thailand at the moment and there are countless variations of this famous salad.
That is my favorite too. I tell everyone to try it. Ask for it sweet or spicy. I knew someone from Thailand who threw the gnarliest fish into it to. A Laos thing I'm told. Cleared your sinuses right out and best if you were sick. Rock on ladies, we love it

I make that with cucumbers i saw a lady from Cambodia make it i did not know that was the same as the papaya salad she probably said it was but i cant speak her language now i know i can make both the same way yummy
Yes you can make it with cucumbers, green beans, green mangoes. I’ve even had it with cabbage and noodles as well! So good!

@@heyitsfiiiii ingredients for the sauce are sugar, fish sauce, lime juice, tomato, thai chili pepper, garlic, and shrimp paste (optional). You can use with shredded green papaya, green mango, or cucumbers.
Get the papaya shredder, mucho easier

Yoooo. Here in India it's not recommended to give pregnant women papaya. Like it's bad for both of them.
Mind explaining? Never heard this but then again I never eat papaya, not very common here.

@@charitys.3862 Raw papaya has latex which is an abortifacient. It causes early contractions leading to miscarriage or pre-mature deliveries.

Some people clean their dogs on a regular basis, some dogs are non shedding, you’re not eating the food so why does it matter, I bet you that dog is cleaner than some peoples fingernails that have prepared your food.
