Love the build, especially love seeing the water test at the end!!!
j'adore, c'est typiquement ce dont je rêve. bravo très belle réalisation !
Very nicely done, a really good fabrication of a well constructed craft.
Thank you for sharing.
Thank you :)
well done.. love to see another video of your masterpiece in any design of boat.🤙🏼
That's the satisfaction of building with your on hands your own design ❤
Wow beautiful, functional. Great video too!
Thanks Meg :)
Nice lines, and she rides well....... good job mate!!!
Ничего себе сколько много времени и труда в основном у сварщика. Сварщики вы молодцы
I spent about 120 hours on it, and I had a helper for pulling the hull together and bending on the strakes, plus a few other parts. Probably around 30-40 hours of welding.
Extremely impressive 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks :)
I must Say A Perfect Job & Beautifully Done.
Thank You.
Plz plz post more!
such a lovely piece of work.. very inspiring
Thank you :)
Thanks to you
Lot of time put into the boat, looks like a quality build.
Thanks!
Super impressive build.
Wonderful. And I love the studio welding shop.
I sure am lucky to be working in such a fine shop!

Beautiful work 👏
Beautiful!
Gorgeous! So rad!
Thanks Sara, looking forward to seeing you up here again sometime soon!
Anyone building these
Great design, very solid boat.
That's pretty incredible, dude - as a lifetime boatman, I'd be damned proud of myself if I burned all the wire to put something like that on the water someday!
Wish I could have all the skills you have to have made this.
Pure genius. Would be cool to see a bass boat made from scratch like this.
That would be cool! I fished bass as a kid, but there aren't any around here ;)
@@EM-hu2bj do you sell these as build plans for international DIY boat builders?
Do you pretty much spool gun everything? Or what percentage is TIG? Does that do well for making the seams water tight? I tend to get pinholes when I MIG seams. Just started a 13’ skiff build last week!
Nice work guys! I recently build 2 of Rick Welin's boats. (metal boat kits) I love your custom designs. Well done!
Nice! I'm building a Bruce Cope design next month - it'll be my first build from purchased plans.
@@EM-hu2bj what one are you building? I have been looking at a few on Specmar myself. I also like the cope designs too.
@@gregepp3082 The winter harbour 23
@@EM-hu2bj yup that's suppose to be a great boat. Hope you make a video of that one. It's on my list.
@@gregepp3082 I've built a Cope 11' mini jet. Things a ripper and geos together well. I design boats myself using solidworks. If you would like a look at a couple boats i designed check the link below. plans are free for now because the software im using is a student version and i'm not allowed to make profit until i buy the software which cost 5k plus.

looks soooo much more comfortable then fibreglass!!
It is!
Really nice work, and the finish is a nice boat
Thanks for the video! Well done!
Glad you liked it!
Nice and strong, nice work. 10 thumbs up.
Cool work 👏👏👏👍👍👍
GREAT JOB
Very nice build.
I'm fully jealous with your talent, skill keep it up, nice job 👍
Absolutely amazing
Please let us know when plans are available, I'd love to buy them when they are!
very awesome project boat built 🤩👍👍👍
Nice job on your build of that boat
Thank you, love it. For me, ideal would be higher rails--and I would love to see it on a dual axle trailer, why? Not weight bearing so much, yeah, I get this is more than enough. But with a dual, you can carry extra things in the boat without thinking about it--AND, when you have a high speed blow out, and it can happen, even with the tires maintained, you have an extra level of safety. Again, ideal world.
Thanks!
Higher rails are definitely an option.
Tandem axles are nice, but this rig will be going about 2km from the launch ramp to storage twice a year, on a rural road with a 60kmh speed limit, so no high speed blowouts for this one :))
Cheers!
@@EM-hu2bj I hear that, you if you can get 90 percent plus of your needs, you are great. I just always think about ideal designs, IF one starts hitting the open road, maybe to camp and fish, dual trailers can't be beat. Mine is on a single too, and I keep tires in top condition, and a spare; still in that ideal world I would take a dual any day. Fantastic boat, thanks for posting--and you can't beat that engine.
@@jimquanticI’ve been towing a single axle boat trailer for 18 years and not had a blowout. 2200 kms return trip from Australind to Shark Bay annually, we change bearings regularly, trailers been serviced and fixed as required
and I for forty years, and I too have not had a blow out. That said--and in line with boating in general a "back-up" for everything is a good idea. I carry a kicker engine--and needed it only ONCE in all these years, but still "best practice". SECOND is weight bearing, you simply have way more with a dual. @@boikebeagle
I love to have a boat someday...nice build..
Thanks :)
Awesome job
A real work of art…
Great video
Wow. That is very cool.
Beautiful boat ,
Very good, nice job
Thanks :)
sick saw skills!!
Beautiful boat❤
..it looks beautiful and tough
Beautiful boat
Nice speed boat ❤️❤️❤️
i believe this ol dude built the boat that was strong enough for the Italian Job movie.......
Nice job 👍
Thanks 👍
I love this! Salute...
your video is great
thanks for yor information
Glad you enjoyed it
I saw so much opportunity for storage before the floor went in, I want one!!
Ficou muito show parabes pelo seu trabalho Deus te abençoe tamos juntos. E o meu sonho de possuir um barco de aluminio
Interesting to see this built, well done. I am curious, why is the floor so high? and that space under the floor not used for storage? Just seems like the center of gravity is a bit high on this. But perhaps there is a reason for this..or this boat has a specific function that I am not aware of.
This is amazing
Nice boat.
wow, impressive
How did you find 16’ long aluminum sheets? Awesome job btw , looks deadly !
Great job
Great build!
Do you sell these plans?
Thank you very much
Klasse gedaan
BADASS !
Yeah that boat came out nice.
The gunnel handles are inspired. Nice and wide and stable. Draft must be very short.
Hermoso la verdad muy novedoso. Haría uno pero con chapa galvanizada. Pero el modelo ese!
I like it amazing
dang this awesome
awesome 👍..
Great looking design. Did you stagger the longitudinal stringers from the strakes or try to put one on top of the other with the hull sandwiched between them?
Sandwiched them :)
Great Job, is that your own design or did you purchase the plans for this somewhere? I’m interested.
Bagus banget..pembuatan perahu 👍🤝🇮🇩
Wow fantastic bro
Thanks for the video
Est. hrs to build?
Grade aluminums used?
XR gun or push pull gun, or?
Thanks!
I think this one was about 120 hours. I just had a spoolmate 3035, and I drilled the tips out for 3/64 wire, which worked just fine with a millermatic 210. Now I’ve got a Lincoln powermig 350 mp with a Miller XRA push pull, and a 360 mp with the Lincoln magnum pro AL push pull. The pulse migs are amazing, but the old Miller got the job done just fine.
It's wonderful
Thank you :)
AH WHAT A FIND! So stoked I came across this. What does a boat like this cost? Inquiring from Victoria BC
Looks like a Lifetime boat I have one 14 ft skif 9000+
Nice, very good 👍
HADIR OM PAKET KOMPLIT, mantap bisa buat kemana saja
Muito top show de bola ⚽️
this is why I am in welding school I get to do this eventually
Great video. May I learn what type of aluminum you used for boat building?
It's in the info for the video, hit the down tab.
The plate and sheet is 5052, and the extrusions are 6061. Cheers!
Great job. How much did the boat weigh without the motor?
How many prise and speed plz tell me thank
Very nice work my man!!! Aluminum is not cheap these days but that thing turned out awesome. What size Honda did you put on it as I never saw the size?
Thanks! It’s a 50hp Honda
Where can we get the plans for the boat. It look amazing.
Hi Bruce, I will have them available on my website once they are ready
@@EM-hu2bj are they ready yet? I am also interested
Hey man great video. What settings did you use on your machine voltage and amps. I’m about to get started on my boat.
I built this one with a Millermatic 210 with a spoolmate 3035 running drilled out tips and 3/64 5356, and a Lincoln squarewave 200 with 3/32 4043 filler. I don’t know what the Miller settings actually correspond to as far as voltage and wire speed, but I had the voltage set between three and four, and wire speed at 4 to 6. Just experiment on your off it’s till you get it running the way you want it. On the tig I was mostly starting maxed out at 200A and then tapering it back with the pedal as the work piece heated up. Have you welded much aluminum before? What’s your setup?
@@EM-hu2bj I haven't welded much aluminum before, got a spool welder on a single phase 200A wire feeder. I'm going to be welding 1/8 5086 as a majority of my welding, mostly butt welds, doing an aluminum boat. I come from a welding (management) background so I'm learning all the time.
Nice! What boat are you building?
12 foot skiff utility.
good job
Wow very nice
Looks great. What does a boat like this cost? And do you offer drawings/parts list? Best regards
About 3 dollar a lb
Respect for being able to build this with just the two of you. What tool is used to make the crease on the hull sheet?
I cut a partial depth score (later welded up) and pulled the edges in with ratchet straps and chains
wow well done
Lovely work .. but just a question I thought aluminium was a really soft metal ... how thick would that have to be to be safe to use as a boats hull .. thanks
Thank you!
It is certainly softer than steel, but it’s highly corrosion resistant, and widely used for boat building, including commercial fishing, patrol, law enforcement, and pleasure craft. The required thickness depends on boat size, design, and intended use, and the alloy used. This boat has 3/16” plate on the hull bottom, 1/8” sides and deck, and 1/4” for the transom.
@@EM-hu2bj thanks for the reply.. all the best from England 🏴 .. look forward to more videos
Good job
красота!!!
What would a boat like that minus engine cost if you were to build one for sale ?
Hi Randy,
I would be happy to come up with a quote if you would like to email me at efm@elegantfabricating.com
Cheers!
Very good construction of the boat here in Brazil, this boat would easily cost 25 thousand dollars. My family has a tradition of building large fishing boats measuring 10-15 meters out of wood, I'm interested in building this boat
How do you know what angle to cut the hull out when you first start? I saw you cut a curve, but how did you know what that should be?
simple pero bonito😉
wow
amazing
Adorable!
Awesome video. What was the cost of this build?
