The production and editing was good too. I have subscribed.
I use Docs quite a lot and now I shall be more skillful in using it's features.
Incidentally, you can change the filename taken automatically first line of the document just by clicking on the filename next to the blue docs icon while the document is open.
I use docs to compose emails with pictures embedded within the text, my yahoo mail won't let me do that so I select all, copy and paste into yahoo text body. Job done. I shall look into other formatting in docs to apply to yahoo mail too.
I am pretty much stuck in yahoo mail as at the dawn of time I could you a distinctive personal address there and all my contacts remember it well, also storage there seems to be unlimited.
I'm going to look at your other Chrome apps tutorials as I have pretty much moved away from Windows to ChromeOS these days using Asus Chromeboxes bought cheap on Ebay in nearly every room in the house.

Just one thing. I have never understood how to create columns once I have started a document. So I was excited to learn how. But I still couldn't make it work. After some trial and error I learned something that you didn't specifically teach. Let's say I wrote two paragraphs and I want the second one to be in columns. I can't just type the second paragraph and without hitting enter, highlight it and create columns. I have to hit enter - getting past the second paragraph - and then highlight it. Then it will work. (hope this makes sense.)

Hi, is there a way to duplicate a Google Doc and change the name and some content, for the document. I am used to using Word and using "save as".
When my daughter is sick, I send a note to the school with the only changes that are made is to each note is:
. the date I sent the note
. each day and date she was off school sick for that period of time
when I save each note, I "save as" with the heading - absent 1, absent 2, absent 3.........then place each of these notes in a folder name for that year - 2011, 2012, 2013
This way I can keep track of the days my daughter is off sick and keep track when the school contact us of a missing absent note
I suppose this would be the same when you are doing a letter for work/business and have to send the same letter , but just change a few details (and possible to keep each copy)
With Google Docs, it doesnt have the "save as" option, as it saves your work as you go - but what happens when you need the "save as" option, same letter but to change small sections of it
    Thanks Sean

I want to use Google Docs, but is it safe? There is no log in or passwords that I've found. Thanks

If it’s not requiring you to log in, then that means that you are already logged into a Google account and it’s using that. Docs is as secure as your Google account.

Very informative! I wrote a book in google docs. I did everything you said but it won’t let me justify

Does it let you change the alignment at all? Make sure you hit return at the end of each paragraph.

It's not really designed for that, but if you wanted it there, you could make a shortcut that points to the URL of the file or you could install the program that syncs Google Drive to your computer.

That's more of a Google Drive question than Google Docs. Maybe see here (it's a long video though) czcams.com/video/YPbWTG6LM84/video.html
