- In today's video, I am going to repurpose and recycle an old bike wheel. I couldn't believe my luck when I stumbled across an old bike wheel when I was out walking recently. I had seen lots of repurposed bike wheels on Pinterest and I was dying to give one a try. I decided to turn my wheel into a decorative wreath. This was a really quick DIY and it only took me a morning to make. As I was recycling this wheel I thought to myself that it would make a great wedding DIY. So, if you know any brides to be then please share this DIY with them.

Those pink roses look so lovely with the copper wheel.
It was a very lucky wheel.... lying there hopeless and unloved....then suddenly rescued .... and made pride of place.
Life’s like that sometimes.... you think your going nowhere.... and hey presto...your luck changes 🍀

Yeyyy it turned out lovely 👍🏻. Have just watched it on the new big tv. Husband is now gutted that I’m watching videos on the tv instead of my phone 😂. I’ll have him picking things up in the street in no time 😂

I have to do this. My son has a few old broken bikes that need to be discarded. I can just use one of his old wheels lol. I love it, so cute. And I love the idea of using floral wire so you can change the arrangement. I would change it according to the season, or upcoming holiday. Great video, thank you for the idea, and for sharing 😊😊😊😊.

I've already commented on both your instagram and facebook pages, but I couldn't help but comment here too. This is so pretty Catherine, it's the prettiest wreath I've ever seen and so quirky. You made me laugh when you said you couldn't stop thinking about it, as I've done exactly the same a thousand times. Last week I saw a chair by a bin, came home, dropped Andrew off for his siesta and went straight back out for that chair. Came back with the chair (it's a mid century upholstered rocker chair) as I wanted to try and paint the fabric, it's good to use freebie finds to experiment. Also picked up a small wicker plant stand/side table (from another bin as I passed), an old battered bedside table from a skip, I did ask the owner, and a metal white chair from another bin. He hates it when I go out alone lol.

The rose gold paint is outstanding! Beautiful project. I've had some faux flower stems so thick and tough to cut that even my husband has struggled to cut through them. Crazy!

have you thought about hanging the wheel horizontally and hang from the spokes small mason jars with candles, use flora wire around the top of the jars to suspend them would make a cool out door chandelier under a patio or gazebo..... would be cute painted white with colored mason jars. just a thought.

@@DaintyDiaries hope you film the diy when you get another. if you can't find any more on the road side you may can find a lot in the junk yard, here in the states that's where I'd look a car junk yard. they usually have all kinds of old stuff from cars to motorcycles to bikes. can't wait to see what you come up with. one more idea, a mobile. a cute mobile with miniature tea cups, you love those so much or cute birds or kitty cats suspended from them even a mobile for a baby's room. ok enough with the crazy ideas. can't help it they come at me at warp speed all the time.

Looks great. Also consider using small zip ties. They might be less apt to scratch painted surfaces. Cheers.
