- This is my first official CW key; I show how I unbox and connect the cable and make some adjustments to work with the FT991A. I review the settings for a straight key into a FT991A, the Pitch setting and how the BK-IN works allowing you to practice CW on your radio with headset or the speaker.
The key is a little high on the rubber mounts, so I had to use a note book for easier access. I also demonstrate some early code attempts.
There’s also a program I found on my phone that allows your phone to act like a key and you can practice transmitting by tapping your iphone.

Hi Scott, thanks for the message, it's taken to some work to get use to it but I am very happy with it, let me know if you need anything else and have a good weekend 73!
whether its break in or back in, proper hams know what you mean. very informative clip. keep em coming and ignore the correction police.
Encouragement goes farther than criticism. So keep at it, we should all be trying to gain knowledge. I’m just now taking interest in code after being an operator for 18 years. 73’s
Good evening and thanks for the message, good to hear interest in the CW I've been working it for about 8 months, the sending is easier then the copying I listen to a bunch of pre-recorded wav files I put Apple iTunes and listen to them on my iPhone all then time starting to copy about 50% I find 15 WPM Farnworth about 12 to 15 works pretty good for me, good luck and let me know if there's anything I can help with 73
it's Break-in NOT back-in.
Thanks realized that after the video and I knew that for some reason sometimes whets in my head doesn't make out - apricate the message I'll be more careful in the future not to cause any confusion 73 sir and thanks
Keep up the good work, I enjoy your videos on the FT-991 since I just bought mine a few days ago.
