  • The Labour Party under the leadership of Kier Stramer won a massive victory on Thursday 4th July with a huge parliamentary majority and the new Labour government wants pursue a progressive realism foreign policy.
    The new Foreign Secretary David Lamy sees a more volatile world and has pledged to make Brexit work by establish closer ties with the EU by seeking an ambitious security pack with the block.
    He wants to take a full audit across all government departments on the UK relationship with China to wean itself off China. Labour is also committed to recognising a Palestinian State and to push for an immediate Israeli cease-fire in Gaza.
    The new Labour government has stressed its constraint support for Ukraine and Starmer is due to meet President Zelensky in the coming weeks. How this new Labour administration deals with these world problems will determine their place in history.
