- Wow! Can't believe I'm moving for the second time in a year during a pandemic! I couldn't be more happy with my decision. Let me know what you think of the new studio apartment and any space saving tips you might have as I prepare for the move!

Aww, I just watched your previous apartment tour looking for inspiration & now you’re already moving on to a new one! :( I hate being a downstairs neighbor bc of that SAME reason so that’s why I make sure to be on the top floor if I can! An in unit laundry is A MUST during COVID. You live & learn though! Wish you all the best 🤍

@@kirsten-ashley unfortunately, no. My space is smaller than yours. So I got a double day bed so I can also have room for a desk and dining table. Im sure you’ll make it work !

Wow, this is one of the best NY apartments I've seen. I can understand about the upstairs neighbor. Mine were terrible, but they moved after only four months.

I completely understand! I am also moving out of my place after 10 months because of the neighbors and neighborhood safety. I love my place very much but as my Mom said "you can make any house a home" get a air mattress, your coffee maker and your toiletries and move to your new place now!!!

Online I've seen amazing Murphy beds, with storage on either side, that when folded up have a sofa. Something like that would be perfect for that space.
Yes! I actually love the idea of a murphy bed, but I was really hoping to keep the furniture I have currently since I just bought it. Hoping it works out!! Thanks for watching 😊

@@kirsten-ashley My daughter recently changed from a one bedroom 850 sq ft apartment to a 540 sq ft studio because she was not happy with her landlord and constant maintenance issues so she moved. She down sized because it was the only way to afford an apartment in a high rise. She could not be happier and she also now has a dish washer and washer/dryer in her unit. And the view is breathtaking. The pros sure do outweigh the cons.

I love how everything is new.
Yes it is small but be creative by using dividers such as a bookshelf or curtain for separation from your bed and your living area. Love how you have beautiful fixtures with modern cabinets and appliances. The shower stall I love too with the warmth of the color tiles plus the door too.

@@kirsten-ashley try using Joy hangers from HSN this will give you more room in your closet for your clothes and jackets.
A Shoe Closet that sits on the floor and folds out from Ikea. Maybe a room divider bookshelf to hide your bed with books or vases. If you have room a small island with backless stools for your kitchen. Be creative you're doing well so far.

Love the apartment!!!!! BTW I feel your pain with the upstairs neighbor. They have kids and they let them stay up till 1 and 2am sometimes jumping around. And not only that but this lady is OBSESSED with vacuuming. She does it throughout the day and late at night (1-3 am) all week. She’ll be moving furniture and vacuuming. Keeps me up till late. Can’t wait to move in the spring. I’ll be the upstairs neighbor this time.

If you can fit it, the Ikea Kallax shelving units are great at breaking up the space -- I personally have the 5x5 to separate my bed from my couch and it really does make it feel like they're two separate rooms. Either way, a measuring tape will be your best friend over the next few weeks as you get everything situated, trust me! :)
Yes, IKEA really is the best! Once I'm in the space again and can measure everything I will see if I can fit it. Thanks so much for the tip!

You can also buy one of those big totes or tins to place inside the shower as a makeshift tub.

Your studio is beautiful! The kitchen design is soo pretty and luxurious looking. 🤩🤩I had to keep reminding myself that this was in New york since I am used to seeing old outdated apartments in New York haha. You even have a washer and dryer? Lady that is every apartment renters dream, go you! Happy for you and cant wait to see how you will design it.

Girl I feel u on that loud noise, I also recently moved and had to complain about the noise level next door, this one also definitely has studio equipment because my walls would rattle from the heavy bass. My brother said I was a Karina (Spanish Karen) for complaining lmao!

This is why I can't do apartments! Same issues living in my studio in San Francisco. Just NOT worth the stress. I'm currently renting a room with a six hour day commute to work while my tiny home is being built. Thankfully this pandemic has allowed me to reevaluate my life goals and money is NOT so amazing when you don't own your own space. Good luck and stay safe. I know exactly what you mean when you're explaining your obnoxious neighbours, I live in a split home so my neighbours are on the other side of the wall, and always sound extremely loud and incredibly close!
They are a young couple who are incapable of considering others and have two young kids, one of which is two but screams out and tells all night long and neither parent gets up to take care of it, so I have to deal with continuous around the clock noise, so I very much get the need to move if you're not able to get the peace and quiet you deserve.
Sorry to vent so much, just can relate so much to what you've been going through! 😡😒 All the best for you in your new home, may you get the peace and quiet you deserve and have a nice serene existence in this beautifully designed new place. The kitchen and bathroom are stunning, well done! :)

This may be small, but everything looks newly upgraded. A studio with both a dishwasher and laundry in-unit is special indeed! I know practically everyone in NYC has a queen-sized bed, but you might consider a smaller one. The place will be cozy, but if you can avoid decorative clutter you'll have room for everything you need. A building with higher-class apartments like this will hopefully have higher-class tenants and no party animals. Enjoy!

Oh my sweetheart 😲I've been having similar problems with my upstairs neighbours for many years, having constant parties for their children...while I was complaining so many times 😪😫but I own my place and it's a big process to sell it. Plus I have renovated it to raise its price..during the pandemic the parties stopped and their kids have grown so magically the noise got reduced 🤗I still feel upset about their future behaviour, but my work is close to the the area I live..I know how it feels though to commute so far. I think you made the right decision to move. You'll find your peace and since your taste is exquisite..you'll decorate your new place perfectly 👌I can't wait to see it furnished 😊

Im moving into a studio too and I was worried about fitting things in. I highly suggest getting that measuring tape and drawing the square space on paper and figuring out the measurements of your items. Makes your life easier. Like measure the current space you were living in and compare it.

This is fabulous and I'd move in myself even tho it is smaller than mine. The finishes are wonderful and I am happy a artist designed the interior. I had rotten upstairs neighbors and people did move out until they were asked firmly to leave. Happy for you and have a wonderful new year in your new home.

What a great way to start the new year in a new space. Blessings on your new space! When moving into a new space 1 thing that helps, especially for a studio is using a floor plan app. Both Bob's discounts furniture and IKEA have them. I am sure there are others. I look for free ones. That allow me to create a room the size and configuration I have there add and stage the furniture exactly as I want. The great thing about ikea is it allows you to view in many modes and both 2d and 3d.

Wow, I JUST watched your prior video on the other apartment! You are not going to have a fun time consolidating, but with the issues you mentioned the move is totally understandable and wise. You’re so right about the finishes in this apartment being better, the kitchen and bathroom are much nicer not to mention the convenience of modern appliances, think of the time you’ll save! With your taste and design sense I’m absolutely sure you’ll make the smaller space really work for you and be charming.
Ahh I've already gotten rid of so much! It's working so far - the only thing I'm overwhelmed with right now is clothes and shoes. You don't realize how much you accumulate over time 😅 Just gives me an excuse to continue to donate them!

My upstairs neighbor was loud but that was because he hadn't realized someone had moved in (I'm extremely quiet even with a dog). He apologized and also did a formal apology. No problems since
