- Gayle from BERNINA of Naperville shows you how to thread the bernette 68 combo serger/cover stitch machine for a 4-thread overlock stitch with integrated safety seam and 4 thread coverstitch. Conversion is easy when you follow the process and sewing on this machine is a breeze with the airthreading feature on the upper, lower and coverstitch loopers.
Excellent video! It answered many of my questions. Very good explanations and the close-up video is exceptionally clear. Thank you!
Thank you so very much! This was very helpful.
I am taking this slow and rewind and watch. You have opened a whole new world of sewing with my new Serger. Great teacher.
You are an excellent teacher! I just love listening to you teach, very clear and concise. You convince me to buy one and I can't wait to work on it. Thank you and P.S. your video deserves a million likes!
Best video on the internet re the b68. Watched it twice and now I’m up and running. Thank so much!!!
Thank you for explaining it so well. I look forward to more tutorials on how to use my new bernina with other projects! thanks !
Gayle, I really needed this. I just bought one in March and I am stilling playing and learning it. FYI, don't back out the screw too much like I did and lost it!!
Excellent tutorial Gayle! Thanks so much for posting this.
I’m really being tempted to buy this machine.
Thanks. This helped so much.
SUPER film!!!
Thank you ❤🎉
Thank you!
Do you have a tutorial for the b64 serger? I have the L890 that I love love love. But I wanted a sergerfor the room where I have my Bernina 570qee which is downstairs. My Bernina 790 plus is upstairs with the L890. I am a lucky girl!
Nice!
i will use that basting tip right now..
Thank you for all your helpful videos! Can you tell me if this has a DC motor? I haven't been able to find this info online. TIA
@@tuustotus9635 no, all bernette sergers have ac motor. The only DC motors are the BERNINA L 460, L 850, L 860 and L 890.
@@BERNINAofNaperville I appreciate your prompt response. You know your stuff!
I have a few questions & I Love your videos.
I bought a B590 with embroidery module. I realized a serger overlock combo is a nice addition for a professional look in clothing & saves so much time.
I am wondering if the b68 is noisier than L890.
Also is there much difference in adjusting to sewing ease? I waited for this one to be sold in Israel because it's more economical.
Other question is how necessary is it to have a blade? I a serger not a serger without a blade? Why I'd choose b68 rather than another brand combo which doesn't have a blade!
All sergers have a blade to beaten the edges. The bernette 68 performs well with proper instruction. It is a little bit noisy. The L890 is a dream and there is no comparison. It is quiet, easy to use and the guided access is so easy to follow.
Thank you! I will save up them! In half a year I can invest for my retirement! There is one company that sells a serger coverstitch combo & I won't say the name! It looks nice enough But when I looked up the machine, I saw it has No Blade! Or you can write to me by message privately & I'll tell you, Gayle. It was same price as B68. I noticed that the B68 was noisy. So Thank you for your honesty! Love your detailed videos. I learn so much!❤
How would you thread Woolly Nylon through the air threader for Cover-stitching?
@@JulieRStitches you don’t. You use a thread cradle. But wooly nylon is awful and we don’t use it. We use softloc from Wonderfil and it goes through all of the air threading serger models , plus it can be ironed without melting.
Where can I get that shirt pattern?
Does this machine have automatic tension with the option of adjusting if we needed
Manual tension only.
Does threading order matter
Yes, like i said in the video, blue, red, yellow, green.
