Would you buy any premium boards such as keycult, tgr, or duck? (And many more ofc)
@@mynt017 stay tuned
@@HipyoTech Lmao thx for the reply; I've taken a glance at your channel, and most of your videos regards to keyboards are more on the "budget" side. And would you rather own a LZ or a Duck board? Just wondering
@@mynt017 I might look into some of those, once I have more free time later in the year I have a ton more options for reviews
I tryed Roger the PCB and plate out of the case and mu USB port broke can i fix it ?
They gave you $150 to spend on their site and you called them out for carrying those keycaps with stolen designs/artwork. Legend.

he called them out from stealing after they gave him 200 bucks omg I'm subbing to this dude
solider fall!
another switch option anyone trying to emulate a build like this could try out are akko cs rose red switches, theyre fairly smooth (my batch was around the same feel as gat yellows) and are pink so they will match the keycap set, they are also ridiculously cheap coming in at about 30c a switch (abt the same as the feker milky greens). hope this helped anyone trying to decide on what switch to use for their budget build!
i have no idea what half of what you said meant but your video was so soothing that i watched all of it lol

Most there stuff is like wish. Just a lil more better and not made to always last. Keycaps on there look low quality but they look nice.
3:32 yeah I changed my switches for the first time and when I got done resoldering them all, I tested it and half of them didn’t work...
Took a while to fix but was worth it
I just got into building my own keyboard and your videos have been awesome and super entertaining! Excited to catch future streams!
with these keyboards you usually pull from the bottom right first and then kinda slide out the top and up, that's how I have always done it and I've taken apart my gk64 multiple times without issues
Hey thanks for making these vids man. I’m looking into building a mechanical keyboard that has Bluetooth. You make it really easy to learn about this topic.
Glad I can help!
Glad we all got to hang and watch you build dude.
Dude, Ive got those exact same keycaps. I love them so much and literally everyone who watches my stream says they like my keyboard.
I got a Keychron C1 instead, which is very similar to this but it supports 5 pin hot swap with ALL switches. I'm probably going to get some Glorious Pandas and lube them myself for my first build. It's not my first mechanical keyboard but it is my first custom one I'm going to do. I'm excited!
i was looking at all those keycaps and they're really nice
I just got the skyloong gk61xs board with pink purple and turquoise keycaps and novelkeys cream switches and im so far loving it. this is my first build and the switches arent lubed yet but i plan to do it soon. I foam and bandaid modded this keyboard and it sounds godly.
I'm almost finished modding my first 60% mechanical keyboard with blue switches and these videos have been helping me through it all so thank you.
BLUE CLICKY SWITCHES!!!???
@@garry1859 yes I'm a saidest for having blue clicky switches lol
@@WRPG how do you even mod blue switches lmao
@@garry1859 It wasn't the switches I modded but the keyboard it self that gave it a better sound and I will do it with my current tkl as soon as I can get it stripped down to do so.
@@WRPG oh k but i dont think its possible to make blue switches sound good but you can prove me wrong
I just got into customizing keyboards last week and I took my brand new Redragon k530 60% apart to check everything out and snapped the power switch nub off in the off position so now I have a wired keyboard when I purchased a wireless one. I can tell this is gonna be a real fun hobby. expensive and fun.....
Great video Hypyo!
I have $200 invested into a GK61 optical. Foam under the board - Krytox 205 g0 lubed Gateron optical blacks - Zeal gold plated stabs - Razer shine through PBT caps. The end result is incredible. Worth every penny. My fav. part of the board has to be the Zeal plate mound stabs. So crisp and precise even without lube, but mine are lubed with a bit with Krytox 205 g0. Now all other stabs pale in comparison for me.
looking forward to more budget builds from you man! any plans on reviewing Akko switches and keycaps?
I just found your channel and binged the hell out of your vids, I gotta say, I like your content, since not all things about custom keyboards should be crazy expensive, I used to mod the shit out my old Redragon k552, I moved on since and built my new sub-$150 build.
Thanks so much!!! I'm really glad youve enjoyed it! Welcome to the channel
What mods did you do? I also wanna nod my k552 like switches and stuff
Soldier fail. Also thanks so much for this video! I’m planning on building something with this budget. I was looking for a nice case/pcb, and I was unsure about gat yellows but now I’m decided. Thanks!
Glad I could help!
Yes, highly recommend a switch opener tool. My fingers went numb for a day after man handling 68 switches with my own fingers.
P/S: managed to stab my fingers with the switch's pin couple times and bended a couple pins in the process as well :(
sameeee they so sharp almost bled in my krytox
cut my left thumb open trying to open switches manually. also broke a switch. switch openers are much better, and id still buy spares incase u break some
I built this the other day but with different hey caps and used durok teals. 100% recommend
Would be nice if your typing sound test program incorporated space and enter to hear how the stabilized keys sound
I have the aluminum version of this board and is also really good. The stabs are pretty ass but those aren’t too hard to replace if it’s unbearable
I've seen a few people who superglue the connection between USB ports and the PCB just to make sure that it doesn't snap off, which is also a problem on pro micros.
I LIVE THESE KEYCAPS AND I LIVE THE BOARD IF IT HAD ARROW OR FN KEYS BUT BESIDES THAT I LOVE IT
0:23 THERE IS HAIR ON THE KEYBOARD
OMG I had that happen to me 3 weeks ago when building my first build. I didn’t know how to fix it so I just bought another one 😅
Oh no!
Anyway
just a quick tip
if you don't have a switch opener like me, you can get it open use twizzers, which is way easier to do than screw driver :)
You are super underrated, keep up the great work
i love how he is so profesional doing this
1:21 when the keycap pullers are not what you expected
Hipyo Tech's 2 yr old videos do be hittin different
I have this board actually. It, some Gateron blacks, and Matrix Keycaps were my Christmas present. It has me hooked on the hobby. I actually took the day to work on the stabs. Trust me, these stabs are pretty bad if you leave them factory. I clipped, and band aid modded them, and they are LOADS better. Aside from the 2 stab housings that have broken on me. Good thing the split space bar comes with 2 extra sets. I'm gonna say, it's not bad, but the NK61 might be (probably is actually) the better choice.
i freaking love the world tour keycaps but my 8 year old cmstorm tk has a 6.5 spacebar layout :(
this is so soothing
Howdy hey
Thanks for the vid I built my first keyboard with the gk61x with gateron milky yellows and this really helped
Hi Hipyo. I think i've settled on this both because of a current sale going on, and... it being way better than the prior option I was considering even without that sale. All the reduced price does is allow me to get some key caps and o-rings to go along with the neoprene mat i plan on putting i nthe bottom of this thing.
My personal daily driver is a gk61 with Gateron optical red switches, and I could not recommend this keyboard enough as an entry level board
Ima gonna build thx thx for the tip ❤️
can you please for a video try the method that wildcat used with grinding the switches? i want to see how well it works :)
really nice video, I think you deserve more subs
the same thing happened to me, my usb-c connector snapped off and i tried to superglue it back on but i guess it was a blessing because im now getting a bakeneko 65
47k views but under 10k subbs... feels bad man, but at least u know u do interresting and high quality videos
5:33 exactly the same happened to my gk61 (it didn't have bluetooth)
I’m planning on following this sort of tutorial, but buy some other caps and stuff, but I was wondering if I NEED to put in foam and lube the switches. Answering this would help a lot. Great video btw, very in-depth’❤️
Edit: nvm just saw the end of the video, but do I still need to lube them?
I love those keycaps
My USB-C port also snapped off, it happened two days ago. I have ordered a new one so I hope when I mod it the port won't snap off.
Lol I bought a normal sk61 and I filled it with some like 25mm foam that compressed really well so it worked great
That do be a good soldering job though.
I'm building my own board its a mix of different sites buttt everything comes in Friday I'm so excited 😊
That keyboard is amazing
I'm just waitin for the face reveal stream
e
Ya
try the akko jelly black switches for a budget smooth linear switch
I Like the Key Caps :)
when i pressed f to pay respects, i just went in fullscreen lolol
It was a fun day. Glad I could join in! Just waiting for the face reveal + tux
Wait so without any editing or doing something on the keyboard, can you straight up put the milky greens on gk61?
2:49 those 2u keys almost made me fall out of my chair because I have the gamakay k66 😬
We have the same soldering pump
The usb c thing happened to me to so I cut the usb cable it can with and the cable with the battery and taped them together, and now I use it Bluetooth
This would help me alot as a beginner
Then buy the stuff and build it
i’m not even a week i just really like this design
i had absolutely no problem getting the pcb out tho... ive built 7 of these keyboards btw... just remove all the screws and slide up the bottom of the pcb, then it comes out fine
great vid, I watched the stream!
Also solder fail
Glad you enjoyed!
the exact same issue with the usb c port also happend to my gk 61! but i was luckly able to get a replacement keyboard
:(
Really Enjoyed the video while eating my lunch , I don't really like how the Feker Milky Green sound they are scratchy and sounds altoghether weird for my taste. Soldering Fail😁 . Maybe next time Hipyo..... maybe next time. lol
great vid
7:34 hes not kidding, i was spring replacing my tangerines and at the end my fingers were hurting so bad
i would kill for these keycaps
I was debating on whether i get those switches or not
That one hair on that feker milky green switch threw me off so hard.
these are some cool fekers
every 10 sec in the stream "are those tealios"
I have a keyboard with those caps and was thinking about making a keyboard of my own, saw this video thumbnail and had no choice but to watch
i want to get into custom builds but nervous im nawt gonna get all the right things especially the board
A year or two back I was able to get a prebuilt Skyloong GK61 varient for like £20 off amazon when looking during a sale on a whim, and while I have enjoyed it a lot the degeneracy of the keyboard modding community have corrupted me into doing my own custom build today
11:42 the fn and control keys are in each other's position lol
Just FIY, these switches are called TTC Vatican ;)
YOU DESERVE SO MCUH MORE HYPE
thanks!
I had that same keyboard and also had the same problem with the usb-c port breaking off. I tried seeing if my dad could help solder it back in but he then said that, “there was no solder holding it.” An absolute bruh moment now
My stabilizers came very good stock so i think it varies between board.
i had the same problem with my keyboard with the usb c, i am saving up for a idobao id67, because im not ordering this board again
This is a pog video
Those keycaps do be clean though
Usb c port snapped off on mine as well
6:32 that little text that I think was an oopsie but i took like 3 minutes to try and see what it was lol
6:41 rip the same thing happened to me and had to get a new keyboard gamakay k61 and kinda regret it
Nice build man! I also made a build video with similar keycaps and I just have a quick question regarding them. I noticed on mine that the RGB tended to shine through the pink parts of the keycaps on my one and was wondering if that's the case for you also. If you're not sure what I mean by this, it's 2:27 on my video. Just want to know if it was my keycaps only that had this.
I have about the same issues
Laughed when you broke the usb port same thing happened to me when I tried dampening my gk61 and couldn't use it for a month
I am having trouble taking my top plate off to dampen the sound. It feels like it is stuck on the usbc what should I do
@@theorowe6441 If you are on a gk61 like me then first unscrew the top plate off the pcb and take it out, you're going to have to use some force since it's pretty hard. Then what I do to take the pcb out then is to flip the keyboard upside down and let it fall out, make sure to catch it though. You can shake it a bit to make it easier to fall out.
that keyboard is just music to my ears
i want the milky greens over the gat yellows just because of how good they look + green is my fav color
i would be willing to lube and film either one, and I'll use them for gaming. which one would you guys recommend?
damn, that's pretty danggood
oouhh those fingers :3 i can see that you're a fast typer
