Director Shankar movies are partial like that. The movie has a lot of racism. Not just this movie, he has done in all of his movies. The movie has made fun of Angavai and Sangavai who are King Paari's dauthers in Reality. In reality, She was so beautiful that the 3 great Tamil kings Chera, Chola, Pandiya fought to marry her. But in the movie, Shankar would have made fun of them by painting their face with dark black paint and Rajinikanth rejecting them and the comedian commenting and making fun of their skin color. But the same comedian Vivek will say Rajini's color is great when it comes to man.
If you ever watch this movie, you need to do a watchalong... because there's some ... interesting stuff let's just say. It's probably the most over the top superstar flick and sometimes it goes on weird tangents like this one. Essentially the context is that there's a long stretch of the movie where Rajinikanth is trying to woo Shriya's character. After being exhausted by his stalking (basically), she tells him that his dark skin is the reason she doesn't like him. Rajinikanth goes through extensive processes to become white, this song happens, and then Shriya reveals that she wasn't actually being serious and she just told him that because she didn't think he'd actually be able to do it (there's also another reason why she says this but it's kinda spoilery)
The song is about a person who is black in nature and the actress of the movie insults him that he is a black. Hero goes through a series of washes to his face get himself white, it was just a comedy song.

Okay here's the context of the song.... the sequence leads to the song is - The heroine rejects him stating that his skin colour is dark and he comes back looking like a white guy and pans out to the song, they did CG for the white texture for the whole song, I think there is a BTS for most of this Movie "Shivaji - The Boss" - Note: its a fun take on how he looks white and the end is back with a black superstar stating to the white guy "who the hell do you think you are" - The narration of the movie will be in RRR style, over the top yet enjoyable, This was last movie ever which got screened for 175days in cinemas I believe. You will have a blast watching it.

Context is Heroine rejected rajni saying he is black (but actual reason is hero will be dead if he married to her. She knew it through some horoscope prediction). So Rajni tried so many fairness products and try to get fairness. Then heroine tells the actual truth and says colour isn't the matter
The context of the song, the heroine who was in love with Shivaji (Rajanikanth) suddenly goes against the relationship in the pretext that his skin color is dark and she wanted to marry some one who is fair skinned. That's when this song with Shivaji in different getups fair skinned. This is in context of the film story but interesting aspect is the how filming done on this song by Shanker with out Rajanikanth on a whiteskinned make up but lots of VFI used for it. This is what I heard I'm a Shanker interview.

Its a Shankar film. Until you watch a few of his films (you have seen alot of songs) its hard to adequately explain 'context" Shankar films are so unique. Add Prabhudeva's choreography and sense of quirkiness and you get this. I can't wait to see what Shankar does with Ram Charan's film with him. He is one of my favorite Tamil directors.

So, he would try his best to lighten his skin thru various techniques and this song is an imagination of "what if he is fair skinned" and he is mocking his older dark skinned version in the end saying now he is fair and more stylish and westernised.. Hence the song. this song is supposed to be taken in a lighter tone. Later in the film , he realises it was stupid and goes back to his real skin!

The concept is Rajini is a dark skinned guy in real and the heroine rejects him comparing her color with him. He is a very rich huy in the movie and he tries all sorts of treatments to become fair. In India fair skin is preferred than dark skin. After trying all the treatments he feels he become fair now and dreams that the girl will accept him. The dark Rajini in the end is the actual him who got rejected and the fair skin guy is what left with the girl. It is a satire on the dark-fair skin and self punching on himself all together. A hero of his stature need not do that but he still makes fun of himself and that's why people love him.

I'll try my best to explain the song's context, the lead actress / female character rejects him because he's black. so he'd do a lot of things and treatment to become white / fair person. so they placed this song in that situation. that's y u kept seeing him in black and white guy in that song. "I was pure black back then, now I became so fair"
About that ending: His past version (black Rajni) came back, but the newer stylish one (White Rajni) telling him to go away and then leave with the heroine. 😅
