I think he felt Canelo’s power and probably thought he got hit by a brick. When he let his hands go he was able to catch Canelo at times, he needed to outbox Canelo if he wanted to win. But if he did that he’d give Canelo chances to counter. I think he made up his mind early in the fight he’d fight to survive. There are weight classes for a reason.
