The reason he looks like Fry is because Fry's clothing is modeled after James Dean's clothing from "A Rebel Without a Cause," and I believe that the farm scene at the beginning is a reference to "East of Eden," the first hit movie that James Dean acted in.

It's been many years since I last watched this, and I think I was too young to get it because this is surprisingly good. It also looks like it was made in Flash, which would be awesome since I use flash all the time. Sure gives me more hope of making my own series and getting it on TV.
