- Graffiti is an amazing art form and no matter if you catch tags outside or if you enjoy graffiti on permission walls and in the books. Now while it's true, the whole purpose of graffiti might be to "get up" and get your tag name seen, this doenst necessarily apply to people who enjoy permission walls or do graffiti as more of a pass time. No matter how you enjoy graffiti there's one thing we all have in common and thats the love for letters, and the need to learn our tag names. this is really the purpose of graffiti for all of us, it's to learn our tag names so we can learn how to do any letters in graffiti.

My tag name comes from my experiences. Not which letters work aesthetically. I wanted my stuff getting up to come from what was important to me. I use three names. One for me, one for my deceased dad and one for fun.
I remember writing toy cause I thought it was funny af to get free hitoffs from everyone
All publicity is good publicity

Nice work on the breakdown! Everything you said is rock solid advice for someone new coming into the game. It's all trial and error + fun and flow!
Loving the channel bro ! 💯
Love your content it inspirers me so much
I write to escape from life. It's a different existence where I'm not longer me. I'm the name. All of my bullshit is gone, and I focus on the paint. It's like a vacation from my own brain, which is desperately needed a lot of the time. Glad my girl understands. Much love to all the writers out there 🤙
Dope vid homie!👊
been watching since middle school, im in grad school now. the message never changes. Grim sticks to his guns and makes sure u figure it out the right way
Yoo, love the vids, I've been watching since I was starting out 2-4 years ago. I have one question though, if I look at Pinterest for letters, but I later end up making it into my own style, is it alright to do? Besides that, keep up the good work man!
Dope vid! Will there be a physical version of ur book, im not big on digital reading. Thanks!
Hey buddy! Im currently working on the physical books, Im excited to get them done for this book. Still some things I'm trying to put in order, but I do 100% intend to have physical copies, no release date just yet though.
How can i practice can control? Im a kid so i dont have a lot of access to paint, and I dont wanna waste it. I only can buy/rack paint when either I have my own cash, or at my friends house where a store doesnt lock their cans up.
I started to write so i can get away from all the drama and stress at home
I know im progressing bc i can start to slowly see the letters in simpler wildstyles

I’m here because of Jet Set Radio
Make an audio book!!!
lol oh man, i dont even know how to but ill tell ya what. if there's enough of an interest ill do it. Im currently working on making this new book a physical copy so im willing to try and make whatever people enjoy reading (or listening to) the most.
This guy sounds like a game show host
what do you think of a graffiti name in chinese?
No different than graffiti with English names. It's all cool

Lol I like when it goes *rattle*.
Graffiti was used to mark turf and send messages dude
First
"Legal graffiti"... no such thing, its called street art if its legal, not graffiti.
sorry that is simply not true. thats not at all how art forms function and thats not how they're categorized. By your logic, a tag in a black book is not graffiti and we all know thats not what you're suggesting because that wouldnt be smart.
Isn’t graff by definition “illicit” or illegal? I mean it’s in the dictionary’s lol
@@TheSkinnyPig100 I had this discussion with websters dictionary. They agreed that graffiti #1 doesn't have to be illegal, and #2 doesn't have to be carved or scratched. They also agreed that graffiti as an artform deserves its own definition seperate of the previous ones so the point still stands.
@@Theartistblock I recognize the subjectivity in this, but there’s an undeniable significance to legality. Graffiti, shaped by the defiance & rebellion defined by the OG writers, not just the dictionary, it loses it’s raw essence on legal walls. Trying to merge graffiti and street art oversimplifies their distinctiveness. It’s important to honor the definition set by the cultures pioneers rather than altering it later, as it comes off disrespectful & honestly snobby.. who are you OR webster to re-define graff for millions of people… and for what? The “proper” way of catagorizing artforms lmao, give me a break. It ain’t that deep. Legal walls face a lack of respect within the culture for a reason-they go against the fundamental essence of graffiti. No disrespect, just sharing the other side of it.
@@TheSkinnyPig100 street art doesn't categorize a specific style. Street art, similar to Renaissance describes a time, place, or movement of art. Any art created in the streets is street art, but street art doesn't tell us if what was painted is a stick figure, portrait, graffiti, abstract, or what. What defines the artform is its fundamental set, it's hierarchy, and how those relate to the elements of art. This is also something we spoke about with webster and this is how artforms have functioned for centuries. This topic has long been established. So no, the point still stands.
