- The earth explodes mod is a mod for Keen 5 and a complete remake of Keen 2, in creation by Dr. Colossus since 2017.

The mod is still unfinished, so there are some slight glitches with some creatures, bad tiles in some places, and a missing ending. There was also no new music originally, so I replaced it with the NetKeen Vorticons maps tracks for the purpose of this longplay.

8:41 - this music suddenly took me back to the early 90's, that stage is not NetKeen Vorticons music, that's original music from one of Apogee's sister games called Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure!!! 😁 It was the final level in the final game of it's respective trilogy ❤
Indeed, they took most of the NetKeen music from Cosmo and similar games.
A appeciate that Biomenace soundtrack, it fits well to CK 🙂
it's funny because in the OG game the vort-kids didn't cause you to die and here they are...i wonder why
because this is a modded version of the game, usually the modder would replace the sprite of the old monster with a new one, but the behaviour is harder to change

Not to my knowledge, it seems abandoned, unfortunately.
Having watched the whole video now - 1:18:20, isn't that a non-completed level? If so, is that why the ending is missing?

@@IS4Retro Thank you! Unfortunately it didn't work. I placed the 3 files on the Keen folder, but when I start the game it says "MM_GetPtr: Out of memory!". Thanks for trying tho 🙂
It looks like you missed out 1 of the Tantalus Ray....no wonder there's no ending scene after all 8 Major Cities were saved.
Which one? I think I went through them all, although the level names are a bit of a mess. The ending is simply not implemented (yet).
@@IS4Retro Well it seems i've spotted quite alot of errors in that overall Vorticon Mothership, at 31:36 "Moscow Tantalus Center, destroyed despite the image showing New York", at 42:07 "Washington Tantalus Center, No Tantalus Ray except with Vorticon Elder", at 1:06:42 "room name bugged (nter)", destroyed with the image of Washington", and finally at 1:12:43 "another Moscow Tantalus Center" (real).
Of course, you did destroy all 8 Tantalus Rays, but to be honest, the level names was a mess...
