I keep coming back here trough all these years and just don't understand why we don't have these kind of soundtracks on TR games anymore. This is such a piece of art.
Madbuk101 From what I hear the PS2 and Wii versions were just as bad. Instead of just simply carrying over the Legend/Anniversary engine they tried to show-horn in the same clunky, stumbley engine into it and it performed just as poorly.

We scour the world in search of a weapon that can take down a god, the original nemesis from the original reborn and we don't even get to fight her with it wtf? She just throws it at her, what a waste. And could that ending in Nepal have been anymore blueballs? THAT was the big finale!? Mum's a dead zombie, Natla gets kind of hurt, Lara and Amanda don't work it out. If you pay full retail price for a finished game you have every right to bitch about bugs. It's not for us to accept, it's for them to correct. But it was never even patched.

This is epic... ridiculously good soundtrack! I am busy playing Anniversary at the moment on my recently acquired second-hand PS3 (a bit battered, but still working) and have now reached Natla's Mines. Can't wait to progress to Legend and then, finally, to Underworld!

Pedro Granja Hi Pedro! I definitely miss the older Tomb Raider games as well. I own ALL of them, except Angel of Darkness, which is why I still don't know about the Kurtis character. My favorite one would be TR: Anniversary :) It had the dinosaur, Egypt, Ancient Greece, etc. And, the gameplay was pretty long and had a lot of different elements. I love legend too, but I would say that Underworld was a little better :) I remember when I was waiting for that game to come out, and the website was showing the fan art and the new character model.

Kendall, I know a lot of people that love Legends but I personally find Legends to be the worst TR game ever. The game was soooo short, easy and linear! I was very disappointed...Anniversary on the other hand was amazing!! It is my favorite TR after the second, the first and the third one from the old days. Because I grew up playing TR since the first one from 1996, I had a hard time "accepting" this new TR that just came out last year, but once I accepted the change I had a heck a lot of fun with it!! It was the best game I played last year, together with Bioshock Infinite and Resident Evil Revelations. I just hope Square Enix implement more element from the old TR games, make more intelligent bosses to fight and more creative puzzles to solve you know?! I cant wait to see what they are going to do on the sequel.
I so agree! I liked the TR Reboot once I finally gave it a chance. I hope that they next one gives us the classic puzzles, and the bosses like you said. I haven't played Legend in a long time and forgot that it WAS too easy. I am open for new kinds of enemies, but I actually really miss the enemies like one of the bosses from Anniversary: the Minotaur, as well as the jackal mummies, and the things from Underworld.
This music almost makes me cry lol. This game was an end to an amazing generation of gaming that I am so thankful to have been a part of. However, the new Tomb Raider I believe was a new beginning into another great generation of Tomb Raider!

I think that the lara in the reboot is the daughter of the old lara xD I mean its pretty logical to me. and a good way to end the mommy lara croft :D
Having entered the Tomb Raider franchise thanks to the the Survivor Trilogy i must say that both Underworld and AoD have some great music pieces. Frankly Underworld is probably my favourite sountrack in general. The Survivor have great ost but is very much used just to augment the scene, not to stand out so it comes out as less impactful on its own. which is a pity when the score is sacrificed that way. OST should be loud and roaring not just used as a companion piece, I really like some of Rise ost, but still falls short of Underworld. But is a fault in a lot of media tbh
Honestly, there was something really amazing about Ruins, it bugs me that it wasn't played consistently throughout that map, just one area. Even throughout the game would've been great.
Order of the NEWER tomb raider games in terms of best to worst: Tomb Raider Anniversary, Tomb Raider Underoworld, Tomb Raider Legend....then the latest TR reboots don't count as they are not TR games in my opinion.

I've been guilty of not fully appreciating just how aurally beautiful Underworld's soundtrack is.
