This is a GREAT VIDEO!!!
I like the swearing when you couldn't get the breaker in the first time lol

informative video , thanks Kevin

Are all the circuit breakers in the circuit breaker panels In the United Kingdom Europe and Australia double pole circuit breakers
Hey can I down size from a 40 amp double pole to a 20 amp double pole? (I got rid of my range and now was to install a mini split)
Absolutely, yes you can 🍻
hi Kevin. my dryer is rated for 30 amps and 240 volts. Is a double pole breaker marked 25 amps on each pole acceptable? i was going to install a 30 amp 4 prong outlet for the dryer. thanks in advance
Hi Jamesley. The answer is, it "could" work. "But" your breaker could trip once the dryer needs or requires more power than 25 amps. So you will have to see if your dryer will trip the breaker or not 🍻
Tks for sharing. Question - I haver a 110V panel, and 40 amp breaker in place. Question, I have a baler that takes 40 amp. Do I just plug in one hot wire to the breaker?
I am going to assume there will be 2 hot wires. 1 red, 1 black and the neutral possibly? Have to read the specs on the baler. If it's 240V then you will need a double pole breaker. Two hot wires that plug in the breaker 🍻
Actually the baler is 110V and thus only have one hot one neutral and one ground. So hence my question, if I hook up to one screw on the breaker with hot wire, that gives me 110V. Question is would this get me 40amp (and breaks at above 40amp?).
Yes, you would get up to 40 amps 🍻
What awg of wire you use? What gang box for you use for the other end?
Different applications uses different breaker size, different gauges and different boxes. Example: 15A plugs uses 14awg wire, 20A plugs + 12awg, 30A dryer plug + 10awg, 40A range + 8awg, 60A Tesla faster charger use 6awg 🍻
I like the way you teach class clear concise
I was just going to comment the same thing
Hey yah
Hello. Are those gloves made of any specialty insulator material?
They are cut resistant Nitrile gloves.
@@KevinPon. Thanks!
Great video. Red and black is covered, Im just wondering what to do with the white wire and the ground now though
Thank you! Sorry about that. The white will be screwed down on the neutral bar with the rest of the white. The ground with be with the rest of the ground. Here's a more recent video czcams.com/video/pTq6NmAdJSk/video.html
@@KevinPon. I figured it out today thanks!! installed my first breaker in my shop!
@@SlickWorks that is awesome! Congrats on your success! 🍻
Is that for a 115v or a 220v? If for a 220v what do you do for 110v?
@@daddywoofdawg Double-Pole is for 220-240V. For an example an oven uses 220v for the heating coil and 110v for lights and other components.
insulation an 30 amp breaker ..so the white is grounded??
White/neutral not grounded
I see that you connected the red wire on the top terminal of the breaker and the black on the bottom. Do they always have to be in this order or are they interchangeable. Black on the top terminal and red on the bottom?
Thanks for bring up that question. On a double pole breaker, either color can go top or bottom. It does not matter.
@@KevinPon. Thanks, I was able to connect a new 30 amp breaker for a new water heater.
@@knaightmare9598 You're very welcome! That is awesome!
Is there supposed to be an either white, green or non insulated ground wire, too? All the other vids I've seen on this subject have it but I don't really understand it. I'm just interested in how it all works.
@@zackpercellvo7923 Yes there is! I should've put it in the video too. The white wire is your (neutral wire) it goes on the neutral bus bar. It connects all the wire wires together. The bare or green insulated wire goes on the ground bar with the rest of the grounded wires. Hope this helps. Cheers!
So both wires connect to the breaker? No wire connects to the panel? Like the white one usually does
Correct both red and black is connected to the breaker only. And the white wire to the neutral bar 🍻
why does my uncle only have positive to the breaker and the negative not connected to the breaker at all but to the ground side
Where were you placing the wires your hand was in the cameras way
Sorry about that! Hope this video will be better czcams.com/video/qWhul3Pa6mA/video.html

Hey brother, is there a way I could DM you and ask you electrical related questions? I really need some advice.

Jus shut the main off. They make really nice flashlights these days.
Can you put the wires in first then put it on
Yes you can. But make sure the breaker is in the off position
Is it possible to make a mistake and install the white and black wires to the breaker the wrong way? Meaning r they interchangeable. The white where the black used to be and vice versa.
Mistakes can happen but just have to pay attention. They cannot be interchangeable 🍻
@@KevinPon. but the air handler and condenser started working and the 2 pole 20 amp breaker did not trip. Maybe that’s how I should be wired? Black on the bottôm and white on top
@@unassailablefacts check out this video czcams.com/video/qWhul3Pa6mA/video.html
You never put white and black on the load side of breaker
You can sometimes use the white as a load wire, but you should indicate that with red tape on the white wire.
Was there no ground wire in the circuit?
There is one. I've made a newer video with the wires with demonstration. czcams.com/video/pTq6NmAdJSk/video.html
@@KevinPon. Came in handy today! Thanks for the upload.
My pleasure 😎🍻
@@KevinPon. Earned a sub too!
Thank you, thank you! I really appreciate it Shelton!
Step 1: Have a decent panel.
What's that red wire? Where are the grounded neutral, ground wires?
Hello, there's a red and a black wire. For a range for an example (black 120V) + (red 120V) = 240V
Here's an updated video czcams.com/video/pTq6NmAdJSk/video.html
Where is the neutral wire? (It's white for anyone else reading this that's wondering)
Which is which with the red and black?
Which or where is the ground wire? (Green)
Know this, electricity is color blind. Don't trust color, trust your intrustment of testing. Voltage with travel through any wire no matter what color. In a perfect world colors help, but don't ever trust the person that works on it before you.
Electrons are color blind USE YOUR TESTING INSTRUMENT. IF YOU DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT YOUR METER IS TELLING YOU. CALL A LICENSE ELECTRICIAN.
@@josephrostkowski674 I know how. I'm certified for this. I just think it should be in the video. This comment for for the content maker. It doesn't take a licenced electrician to do this. Good content though, and good comment comment from u 2. Never trust the colors lol both our comments should be in the video for educational purposes.
I like the way you explain things. But you said nothing on how to uninstall a breaker. Not even explaind what the wires are or where the red and black wires go.
Sorry about that, this is for installation. But to uninstall a breaker all you would have to do is follow the steps backwards. Where the red and black wires plug on to, either top or bottom works. It does not matter.
@@KevinPon.You did a good job. I just figured adding that to your video would be a helpful tip to your viewers.
Yes, you are definitely right! I'll have to make another video.
@@KevinPon. did you make it yet?
@@-smp-scientificmethodpersp838 unfortunately not yet. Hopefully within the week
Supposed to be torqued at 30in lbs
Where was ur ground?
Hi Ram, sorry about that. The ground wire is on either left side or right side near the edge of the panel. You will see it. All with your ground wire together. Here's a new video that has the ground wire showing around the 10 minute mark. czcams.com/video/qWhul3Pa6mA/video.html
Appreciate the tutorial but there's no way in hades i'll do anything without turning off the main breaker first. Electricity takes the path of least resistance through the body, and a lot of it will actually arc around your body as it heads toward the ground. It will not be a good day for you, and likely your last day as well.
Yes, better be safe than sorry 🍻
