Before I gave mine to my son I used mine as my everyday watch, including swimming and hiking and it took everything like a champ. I had the steel bracelet one and changed it to a black Casio strap.
Now thinking of getting another one, the black one like your one in this vid.

The black rubber strap versions are very versatile, and comfortable.
You are right, this watch design is stunning! in black it is much better and sportier than the silver version. I want one too 😁!
It sure is! I did consider the silver, dressier one (which is also very cool) but the black resin definitely has more of the “Secret Agent” vibe!
I much prefer the 1BV to the 1AV, the screen on the 1AV looks bland and the gold text on the 1BV looks nicer than the white in my opinion. I used my 1BV for camping and for other outdoors adventures, recently the Casio Duro took it's place. I modded my 1BV with a SKXmods black bezel and a black/red leather Vario strap and now it's used for casual outings.
I also own a silver 1200WHD-1AV which I used as an everyday watch but since my collection has gotten much bigger I rarely choose it over my PRX, Duros or other Casios. I think if I give it the SKXmods treatment I'll probably start using it more often. I wish SKXmods would do a titanium case for the AE1200, putting it in the steel case makes it noticeably heavier which removes one of the nice features of the stock 1200. But both of my AE1200's were quite scratched since I've had them for a long time so the SKXmods case with a sapphire crystal was almost a must upgrade for me.

@@goatreviews I'm very excited for the CA53W-1 review, it's not for everyone but I like it a lot. I'll probably get one eventually, just don't know what color to choose cause I like them all. Another review you could look into is the Casio Duro (MDV-106), it's very popular and is a great watch for 50$. I bought one and got immediately hooked and bought all the other colors and spec'd them out differently. Black one has a orange dive strap, blue one has a tanned leather strap, black and gold one has a green NATO strap but I switch colors on it sometimes and finally my green one has a solid link bracelet from AliExpress that I'm very pleased with and totally changes the feel of the watch. Another recommendations are for example: the instant classic G-Shock GA-2100 CasiOak that everyone loves, the new G-Shock GA-B001 that offers bluetooth for a relatively low price, the Casio date just (MTP-1302) is very cool for the price and now offers a tiffany blue dial version, Casio A1000 line gives you the classic look with a little size bump and uses metal construction instead of resin, Timex Q is a retro piece brought back to the modern time and is worth a look, then finally the Timex Expedition gives you a lot for your money when searching for a budget field watch.

Seiko G757 was used in the James Bond movie Octopussy- the Casio AE1200 looks similar to it, thus they call it the Casio Royale but it was never in a James Bond movie....however, if James was on a budget, he'd use it because it has all sorts of wonderful complications, he could impress nerd chicks with it in any time zone.

@@goatreviews The Seiko G757 was made in limited production and they stop making it about 3 years before the movie came out- things were different back then and movie merchandising wasn't what it is today. I would love to get my paws on a Seiko G757 but they are far and few of them in circulation today. Keep up the great videos !🙂

Is the display have the same gold tint as the B5600-SL?
Hi Dhaccm, the display of this AE-1200 does not have the same gold tint as the B5600 Sand Land. It’s quite a neutral colour. If anything, it has a slight ‘green’ tinge to it, but very minor!

My understanding is that the “Casio Royale” nickname comes from the appearance of the watch, looking like a gadget that James Bond would wear. As far as I know, he hasn’t worn an AE-1200 in any movies - though that would be so cool 😎
