Hi Professor Krier, i was planning to read on Weber and am thinking Julien Freund, The Sociology of Max Weber might be good choice. what do think ?

The secondary literature on Weber is unusually large and each generation of scholars has added to it. Freund was an early translator of Weber into French, and his book is serious and if you already have it, you would benefit from reading it. To me, the best intellectual biography of Weber was written by his wife, Marianne, who also played a critical role in preserving, editing, and posthumously publishing Weber's writings. She travelled with him through life, and her book conveys a deep sympathetic comprehension of Weber's project and the impact that life events had upon his work. A digital copy of Marianne's book is available on Archive.org: archive.org/details/maxweberbiograph00webe
