- In this video, I share my first impressions of the Ulanzi 120W Bi-Color LED lights and how they performed at a recent wedding! These affordable, high-powered lights significantly improved the lighting at the dark reception venue, and their V-mount compatibility and versatile app controls made them a game-changer.
Ulanzi LED Light: amzn.to/3LUqGzz
Affordable and Powerful: The Ulanzi 120W Bi-Color LED lights are cost-effective ($100 each) and provide strong illumination, ideal for dark venues like wedding receptions.
V-Mount Compatibility: These lights require V-mount batteries, making them more powerful than typical LED spotlights but necessitating additional battery purchases if you don't already own them.
Impressive Performance: The lights performed exceptionally well, significantly enhancing the visibility on the dance floor and during the wedding ceremony, even at lower power settings (20-40%).
User-Friendly App: The accompanying app allows easy control over the lights, including power, color temperature, intensity adjustments, and special effects like lightning and candle flicker.
Versatile Attachments: The lights are compatible with various Bowens mount attachments, enhancing their versatility and allowing focused lighting without blinding guests.

Mine is coming in tomorrow. Picked up 2 from amazon at around $100 a piece.
Been eyeing these off since they were announced. Thanks for pushing me to check them out dude! Legit the first lights with v-mounts built-in. 👏👏
Thanks for watching! Just wanted to share my experience with them.
I guess those are rebranded Tolifo lights, sk-135 vr. A lot of light for the money. With Tolifo the reflector and plug is included. Also avaible with NP-F batteries.
Great video! These look like a great light.
No complaints so far
i am actually thinking of throwing my older quite enormous (in comparision) 200W lights away and use the ulanzis instead. for the jobs i take the 200w lights i normally dont need them at full power anyways and even with a bunch of bigger v-mount batteries this would be so much more compact and flexible. also, they would work perfectly in setups with one bigger keylight without the need to tape cables away etc. - interesting product.
Just bought their 200W and their next day shipping on Amazon. Hope to follow up with a review on then
Pls I need to hear your impressions of the light as the price is tempting.
thanks for the review. what do you thinkg about the 200w model? i heard someone sayng that is just half stop more powerful.. im thinking about buying 2 of this instead of the 200w one, wich are also way cheaper
I love it. For my use, for weddings, it destroys my small led panels that I showed in the video! But for my other production stuff I have my aputure and amaran lights!
I got myself both the RGB version and Bi-color version. Loving how much you get for the price. The only minus with mine is when I use my reflectors I get a black shadow in the middle of the light. I dont see it on your video, not sure if they managed to resolve that I got mine 2 months ago or I'm just unlucky that all of my reflectors don't work that well with that light.
That is a bit weird. Is the led pattern different because it’s the rgb version?
@@PatrickRamdialit happens in both versions. I think the reason is the design of the white part surrounding the led compare to my other lights it is tall and it’s not angled so it produces shadow on the reflector dish which results in a shadow in the middle of the spot. I use them with soft boxes so I can work with it but still it seams it could be a problem. I do see it in yours actually you are close to the wall so it is not so obvious.
Edit*
I just checked with my other lights and one massive difference is that here the diode is extruded much more from the bowens mount point so that probably doesn’t also help
@@TomislavMozeCould you show what it looks like?
@@vicenteramoslizarraga1738 it’s a black spot in the middle of the it is visible if you point the light into a wall from at least 1m distance.
Is the L bracket strong enough to easily hold a lantern or larger softbox?
I’d say yes. The bracket has teeth so once tightened it will be hard to come loose.
How long do they last with a 99w vmount? If you use it for weddings, what percentage do you use it at?
I kinda went over that in the video. I’m not fully sure on the size of the mounts I was using but I had the lights on at I think it was around 30 percent for an entire ceremony, and then I used them on and off for the formalities of the reception. They lasted the whole night.
you can pretty easily calculate that by yourself - at full power they will draw around 120W - so around 45ish minutes on a small 99Wh V-Mount battery. or around 4 times that at 25% etc. (if the power setting is linear that is).
@@Digi20 this mathing fr, ur the GOAT
What vmount battery are you using? Can you post the link pls. Someone mentioned in the review that the light is loud, is it quite loud for wedding ceremony?
I was actually using a vmount that came int he kit with the RED gemini that I have. I beleive it was an IDX battery. I havent even heard it make any noise.
How are they holding up after a month of use?
No issues dude
Hey, do you know where you can get the AC adaptor for this light? Or what type of adaptor that is?
On the website I believe you can select “us plug” and it will come with the cable. But for me I got the lights without anything because I have the vmounts already
Does it have any glass protection over the front diodes?
Hey! It does not, it does come with a bowens mount cover but I dont use them. I have a couple aputure and amaran lights and those dont have any protection over the LED either.
@@PatrickRamdial Wish it came with an umbrella mount for quick setups.
