The scene where geralt tells Regis that they defeated the Wild Hunt isn't actually a bug. According to notes you can find in Blood and Wine the DLC takes place in 1275, three years after the main game's quest in 1272. Hearts of Stone is set at an indeterminate time but blood and wine is definitively set after the main game is completed, regardless of if you have beaten the main quest or not.

Fun fact about Toussaint in general, there are many easter eggs about french culture. For instance the name of the cemetary where Regis lives is a reference to a very famous cemetary in Paris where many celebrities are burried, like Chopin. Some that are buried in this cemetary in Paris have their name on a tombstone in game, like Antoine de Saint Exupéry and Jim Morrisson. Other NPCs are named after influent french people like one of the victims of Detflaff, Delacroix, whose name is a reference to the french painter Eugène Delacroix (who painted Liberty leading the people) are even the hairdresser Jean Louis Ludovic who is a reference to a famous hairdresser that started a big brand of hairdressing that is present in almost every cities in France called Jean Louis David.

As a book reader, I can actually explain to you the inconsistence about higher vampires.
Basically, witchers divide bloodsuckers in two categories:
    - lower vampires - the primitive animal like creatures,
    - higher vampires - magical, intelligent monsters that can assume human form.
Then there is a third category - high vampires- Regis an Dettlaff belong to them.
The point is, no one knows that they exist, so they don't have an official name. In the books, the only person alive, that knows that Regis is a vampire is Jaskier/Dandelion.
Even if some wither takes a contract to kill a vampire and it turns out to be high vampire, there are only two outcomes:
    - Witcher dies - Witchers die very often fighting vampires, so no one will suspect anything. Half of witchers would actually abandon the contract and run, if they confirm that the monster is indeed higher vampire.
    - Witcher surprises the vampire and "kills" it - It takes the vampire few weeks to regenerate. In that time Witcher already collected his bounty and went somewhere else looking for coins, not suspecting anything.
High vampires are like skavens - they don't officially exist.
It is just one of the many things that the games made incorrectly and contradicted books canon. The games often contradict the previous games canon as well and the story is often a mess, so it is not point nitpicking such a small detail.

It seems logical for him to do that soon after finding out she's gone or after a while of wallowing in sadness of her being gone, but not after years have passed, everything seems back to normal for Geralt and he gets a place to live.

something else you should take into account, corvo bianco translated from italian means white raven, in my mind that name's an amalgamation of yen and geralt, raven being ofc yen since she's using enchanted crystallized raven skulls as her weapons and her hair is referred to as raven black or w/e, and then bianco or white is geralt ofc.

Ok, I know that I'm a bit late but there are 2 possible explanations for this (well, 2 that I can come up with):
    1. Oriana doesn't really recognize men as "males" but says so anyways to keep herself disguised. She is in the company of Anarietta (who already knows her) and Geralt (a stranger witcher) after all
    2. This one is less likely to be the reason, but maybe the keyword here is "HER", as in "HER males". This one is less likely to be the answer imo because it means that Oriana still recognizes people as a spicie

The actual missed thing is that you can win. The cutseen is scripted as losing the fight anyway. I actually won the first time and when detlaff was at like 5% hp it goes into the cutseen that is usually geralt executing the boss in a cool way, to find out I got to be saved by regis.

I remember dying every once in a while in witcher 2 and getting annoyed with myself since it broke immersion so when I started witcher 3 I decided to play it as if I was actually Geralt, ie one life. So I picked the highest difficulty and played it safe. Quen sign, undying as early as possible, going for max resistances and vitality, always having healing from food on (the 20 min skill), greater green mutagens etc. When I got Mastercrafted ursine gear I finally relaxed and re-specced into attack power mostly so detlaff got spanked very quickly. And then I died miss-stepping from a roof because Geralt was in auto-run mode :(

I would guess that the whole “are Katakans higher or lesser?” Is a bit more like they’re middle ground-ish in a way. Higher compared to those other ones he named in Blood & Wine but to common folk they’re more dangerous and smarter so they’re close enough
