- Saddle Trees - How to get a Broken Saddle Tree Fixed and Repaired - Precision Saddle Tree. From time to time a saddle maker will run into the problem of a broken saddle tree that has been brought into the saddle shop for repair. What do you do? May I suggest Precision Saddle Tree Company they offer a service of fixing and repair broken saddle trees.
This is great news because you will be able to take the saddle tree out of the saddle send it in and have it fixed and when you receive it back from Precision you will be able to put the saddle back together with minimal new parts.

I used them to fix a tree for a customer with a circle y reining saddle. The bar snapped in half and they guys over at Precision did a great job. Saddle went back together like nothing.
I hope we'll get to see you fitting the leather back on it.

I see. So they can just Kevlar over the existing ground work? thanks for the timely response Bruce. I got one for them that is just cracked.
You will need to strip all the leather off of the tree. Talk to Thomas Stevenson about it at Precision before you send the tree in for repair.
would you have to put new strainers and ground seats in the saddles after the Kevlar rebuilding process is completed?
John, Yes you can use your same groundwork and they will repair the tree for you with or without the strainer. Bruce
What kind of material is it Bruce ?
Trailtraveller The trees are made of wood and covered with Kevlar. The cutting horse saddle was originally covered with fiberglass and the roper tree was covered with rawhide. For me this is the best option to get the trees fixed. Bruce

Are you going to have to take the leather apart majorly before putting it back together?
Louise Florida I stripped the saddle down to take the tree out of it. It should go back together fairly easy. I will have to put a new horn cover on it and a new cantle piece. I think Precision Saddle Tree did an outstanding job. Bruce
