I keep cutting my fingers on my benchmade 51, I really should invest in a trainer, but as you said I would get used to the light version and have a hard time flipping the real thing so I’m not sure if I should just stick with trying to flip the real thing or just say fuck it and start having fun with a trainer and not have to worry about grabbing the bite handle on a sharp knife

Something else to consider is that balisongs are super illegal in a lot of places. So in an environment like Australia, most of the negatives you mentioned don't count because they're just in comparison to real edged knives we just don't have. I love how comprehensive this review is though and i'm getting a squiddy B right now so that the sound of it doesn't drive my housemates insane.

Definitely a decent start to Balisong. Although I just got a GlidrCo Artic and just got my Girlfriend a Mako v3. Soooo much different to flip a real trainer and I can see myself getting so much better now. #SquiddyGAW I'd love to get a squiddy for my GF's youngest sister. I’m a teenager and I really like balisong flipping. The first and only balisong I have/made was out of Lego technik. After using the Lego one for a short period of time, I looked to buy a metal trainer. That’s when I discovered you’re channel with the amazon cheap knives. I couldn’t stop laughing the entire video because both of you are perfect entertainers together. So about the metal trainer : I did quite a bit of research and finally found out that any balisong/butterfly knife made out of metal is ILLEGAL where I live 😭 even trainers(Switzerland btw). I like the original squiddy look the most, and I think a blank white is nicely customizable. and I like is 2 dot eyes with no nose although the cat blade is the only one with a nose I'm a fan of. I ordered a squiddy from squid industries and it'll come soon. I'm looking to draw some on the plastic, maybe using permanent markers, or acrylic paint, I might spray paint it a blue color and use some matte clear coat I just bought.

I bought the Squiddy G for my girl, and she loves it. I got to flip it, and it's not too bad, but it's just not my cup of tea. They would be more considered toys, and if we as a collective start calling them toys, it would bring out the balisong community more to the public, and all around gather support, and more demand. That demand would bring even more ideas and interest into investing more in production. However, it cannot slip away as most would probably just move on to the next trend. It's got to be life changing, like teaching someone discipline and honor or something. It is an art form like Flow Arts, and their own flow skill toys. I personally don't like trainers,(I'm more purist) or the toys, but I do see their limited/unlimited use. I remember when squid industries gained traction in the community, and I basically refused to get one of his trainers. I said to myself and in comments of the past, that when he makes a knife, I will be first in line. Sure enough I did get a Krake Raken first production. It's a good product.

The balisong realistically is still a newer art form, or even as a weapon compared to many other weapons now used as skill toys. I found Ken Hill with nunchakus, Tony Burns has some fire katana work that is beautiful. Dalton Sessumes has some good levitation wand work too. Balisongs, are just another flow arts form. Balisongs are also quite new in terms of history. It makes me think that trainers are the way of the future, but personally, I don't see that as the right time, right now. Our community is quite large given that we are still newer to the flow arts, but is probably a staple in skill toys in general. We are only at the beginning of this transformation. I found a way to make my regular squishy nearly silent with very thin insulation foam that I just cut to fit the inner lining of the handle so that the blade doesn’t stick to the handle and what not
My first balisong was a lego one it was made from thise sticks that you put the lego pins in and it worked like a balisong a real one and I learned so much from it
I have been flipping for 3 years now i can do must tricks with my eyes closed and I can say plastic is much better yes I have learnt on metal knifes but once I got it it’s just so much better since u can do tricks 10x faster and it’s much more fun

Hey Will so I just received my squiddy yesterday I am a beginner flipper I love my squiddy so much but I have only been flipping it for 1 day and the screws already loosened and almost fell out I thankfully caught it before it fell out I have only been doing ricochets and a few very simple tricks I can’t keep the screws tight now I don’t have a t10 which I need to get I flip for a few minutes and they are almost out again I don’t have loctite but was told it came loctited so I wouldn’t need it what would you recommend just get a t10 and tighten her up ? Or try to loctite it myself (or both 😂?) (edit just got a t10 and some loctite worked poifect!!! Flips like a gooooodest now I used loctite blue 242 for anyone wondering worked perfect 👍🏻)
I know that this is a really old video and that you guys probably won't see this but. I have the normal white squiddy and i really enjoy flipping it but I would really want a heavier steel trainer because. The white squiddy sometimes can be a little tooooo light for me. But that's just my opinion.
another thing about the squiddy atleast for me is that i dont have to worry about uk laws, plus with some other trainers i cant flip them in public because of the way they can look at first glance

well the squiddy balisong is a fidget toy like handspiner and you can take it everywhere even in school or in public where knives are illegal and don't have problems with cops or other and the metal trainer balisongs sometimes they're pointy at the end of the blade and can by considerate like a dagger.

I found a way to make my regular squishy nearly silent with very thin insulation foam that I just cut to fit the inner lining of the handle so that the blade doesn’t stick to the handle and what not

My first balisong was a lego one it was made from thise sticks that you put the lego pins in and it worked like a balisong a real one and I learned so much from it
I have been flipping for 3 years now i can do must tricks with my eyes closed and I can say plastic is much better yes I have learnt on metal knifes but once I got it it’s just so much better since u can do tricks 10x faster and it’s much more fun

I’m getting the Squiddy-B for my birthday and am really into Butterfly/Balisong knifes right now
These are pretty much my best option since in the UK, a balisong with a blade is actually illegal meaning that this is pretty much my best option
I just got one this vid was the best you explained everything so good I bought of squiddy cause I’d look and white colour I can nearly do a wrist bump I have only done it 3 times I also bought my brother a squiddy u it’s really good but sadly one of the silencer o ring fell out at the park so now it’s lost keep up the good work!

Hey Will so I just received my squiddy yesterday I am a beginner flipper I love my squiddy so much but I have only been flipping it for 1 day and the screws already loosened and almost fell out I thankfully caught it before it fell out I have only been doing ricochets and a few very simple tricks I can’t keep the screws tight now I don’t have a t10 which I need to get I flip for a few minutes and they are almost out again I don’t have loctite but was told it came loctited so I wouldn’t need it what would you recommend just get a t10 and tighten her up ? Or try to loctite it myself (or both 😂?) (edit just got a t10 and some loctite worked poifect!!! Flips like a gooooodest now I used loctite blue 242 for anyone wondering worked perfect 👍🏻)

I know that this is a really old video and that you guys probably won't see this but. I have the normal white squiddy and i really enjoy flipping it but I would really want a heavier steel trainer because. The white squiddy sometimes can be a little tooooo light for me. But that's just my opinion.
my og squiddy used to be cracked like that one, but one day both handles snapped off while i was flipping. it was a sad day.
you should review the squiddy CCC. It's the squiddy C, but clearer. Squid industries has a video on their channel about it.
another thing about the squiddy atleast for me is that i dont have to worry about uk laws, plus with some other trainers i cant flip them in public because of the way they can look at first glance

well the squiddy balisong is a fidget toy like handspiner and you can take it everywhere even in school or in public where knives are illegal and don't have problems with cops or other and the metal trainer balisongs sometimes they're pointy at the end of the blade and can by considerate like a dagger.
I love the squiddy but the country i am living in will take 10 to 16 weeks to arrive, and there is a risk of not receiving it😥
