he didn't k!l! himself because they were fighting, but because she clearly wanted a divorce. Police assumed it was about splitting things, however he clearly said his life is over because she is leaving him. No matter what the officers did, the result would have been the same sooner or later.
They were trying to do that, but he escaped upstairs instead of going outside as she instructed.

She really couldn't have known he would react like that. He rushed upstairs and she walked to follow because in her mind, he was being rash and like most people is either going to lock himself in the room or start trashing the place. As soon as her partner called out he had a gun you can see her double-timing up the stairs as fast as possible, but he already had too much of a head start on her at that point. She could have avoided using protocol to enter with gun drawn to save two minutes by barreling in and she still wouldn't have made it in time. You can't predict irrationality, as it is the nature of irrationality to be unpredictable.

If they’re ready to go, nothing you say or do, caused it or can stop it. You can delay it sometimes but they’ve always wanted it. Most of the time, they go when they want anyway.
There are definitely ways of talking people off of that ledge it’s just incredibly difficult. The issue is that they waited outside the door because they thought he had the gun to try shoot his way out, then he turned the gun on himself it’s an unfortunate situation that was basically unavoidable at that point however there are many situations where you can change the outcome and save a life

We always want to assign blame because it makes things more simple, we also always wish we could have done more to prevent tragedy, it’s easy to blame yourself when there’s a trail of your actions that end in a tragedy even if the final tragedy was not your fault.

Legally speaking if his name is on the title he cannot be forced out of the property. Men traditionally would leave the house because that was socially accepted. But if it’s your legally speaking police cannot force you out

Im wondering.... If he was willing to go that far, was he trying to work on the marriage? Was he listening to her grievances? Or did she become selfish and wanted her space? Did she work on fixing herself for the marriage? I don't know how or why they got to that point, but i know that you have to make a valid effort by listening and working with your partner. You never know if it can't be fixed if you're not actively trying to listening to make things work.

@@killagriz And women know this, even 50 years ago when men were supposedly so bad to women, for all human history the woman was given the luxury of staying at home while the man went out and worked his ass off 50-60 hours a week in grueling back breaking work to provide food and a home and clothes for his wife and kids, there's a book literally called the manipulated man. Initially the wife says she can’t keep doing this, but also knew he had a gun and most probably would take his own life hence why she knew he would run to his gun…. But she should’ve kept that same energy after the fact… not start showing remorse and state that she should’ve given him another chance, coz that 💩 dont seem genuine at all.
