My best friend Gary and I used to listen to this after school. He died in Afghanistan, here's to you Gary.
I am so sorry. Your friend didn't die in vain.
Peace and Love to you and Gary
To Gary 🍻
Here's to Gary.
Im so sorry peace to you Gary
It’s sad because you don’t understand what an incredible gift being young is until your youth is gone and autumn is closing in. It’s 2023 and I’m 59. How did that even happen?
I'm 67 and I've asked myself that same question.
73,here…where the hell did it go?
Live every day to the fullest .The more memories you put into your brain the slower time seems to pass .
Try 73.............so many lost chances, lost loves..............

This song just came too mind as I was out there watching.

“One of the greatest rock writers of all time Samuel.”
Literally just watched this episode😂👻
Is Sam...
Its sam
One of the greatest scenes form, not only the show but TV in general.
It's Sam
"I used her, she used me but neither one cared" - the innocence of youth and how I wish I could rekindle those bygone days. One of the best tracks and albums ever made.
“ innocence” 🤣
You got that right brother.
Those are the lyrics that capture teenage life probably the most
bro you making me feel sad
Doesn’t sound like you’d have that much of a stable relationship
I’m 21 and this song makes me feel nostalgic for a time I never experienced
You were there. I'm sure you were there on every clap of thunder
For some people, music is hypnotic - every time you hear that certain song that gives you a lump in your throat or gets you pumped up or angry, that's the music cutting through all the layers and touching your soul
Brotha I’m in the same boat as you, I’m 22, and I’ve got idea why but ever since COVID I’ve felt nostalgic for all these years that I’ve never experienced, looks like one hell of a time to grow up in the 80’s/90’s
I'm 59 and I'm telling you from experience that growing up then was one beautiful part of my life, nothing like today, thank God for the great memories
Reincarnation, past life
In 3 days, I turn 50, this song makes me sad, I was too introverted as a teen to go out and...live, but at the same time, this song makes me happily nostalgic.
Happy Birthday Brother 8-26-73
Not too late to enjoy other interactions
Feelin’ this.
I lost my beloved wife in 2019.
When I “wake to the sound of thunder”,
I know it’s her.
Thanks, Bob.
God bless her,Dude.
I'm sorry for your loss, I hope the wonderful memories will help to keep you going forward, I'm sure you have loved ones that need you to keep on keepin on!
I'm so sorry for your loss...
Been 8 years since I lost my wife to cancer. Not going to say it gets easy, but it gets easier. There is a possibility for life beyond. Try to enjoy as much as you can, brother, because she would want it that way.

53 years old here in Minnesota. Thank you sir for making my life, my wife of 27 years better. This hits the heart right where it should.
They don't make songs like this anymore. Songs like this just move the soul.❤
Most definitely
That's because they stopped making trash, like this song.
They make garbage
Of course they do. Music hasn't gotten worse, you're just not hearing it.
Listen to Tennessee Whiskey by Chris Stapleton
Reasons to love this song:
1. Bob Seger
2. You're alive
3. Awesome music
4. Joey Tribbiani!

My favorite Seger song but this is the first time I’ve seen the video!
@@krystlemurphy8514 Same here. It doesn't go along with everything my mind conjured up every time I listened throughout the years though.
Bob Seger is arguably one of the best songwriters of my generation. This song defined my very existence in the 70s. So much so that I almost had Night Moves pinstriped on the back of my 65 GTO.
I agree story teller
A friend had 69 GTO he broke his leg in a fight. I was clocked at pegged by the Staties in Maryland. No ticket because I was in uniform and he was screaming from a compound yelling curses no one ever heard. Those night moves.
@@charleediaven6278 Best Song ever of many!
When I was a teenager in the late 70s, a guy in the neighborhood had a mint white 65 GTO,. Wonder where it is now.
Music is the closest thing we have to a time machine. It takes you back to a simpler and happier (for most) time in our lives.
Thank you Bob Seger for this masterpiece!
This comment deserves so many more likes, because it's the complete truth
Truer words were never spoken!
Very true!! I can remember riding around listening to this in my buddy’s ragged ass white Ford Escort blaring through an amp with Jensen 6x9s! Circa 1988
fecking brilliant
How this song is not more popular. It’s lyrics are the definition of every persons life under the age of 19. I can listen to this song every day and never get sick of it
In the last verse he's humming a song from 1962 as he hears the thunder and autumn's closing in. Bob Seger would have been seventeen in the summer of 62. Sounds about right.
Year I was born.
@@lisalu910 I`m the same age as Mr. Seager and can`t get enough of his music. Have lived so many of what he has sung about and felt. He IS amazing.
One of the best songs ever written, composed, performed and sung.
I was a little too tall, could've used a few pounds
Tight pants points, hardly renowned
She was a black-haired beauty with big dark eyes
And points of her own, sittin' way up high
Way up firm and high
Out past the cornfields where the woods got heavy
Out in the back seat of my '60 Chevy
Workin' on mysteries without any clues
Workin' on our night moves
Tryin' to make some front page drive-in news
Workin' on our night moves
In the summertime
Umm, in the sweet summertime
We weren't in love, oh no, far from it
We weren't searchin' for some pie in the sky summit
We were just young and restless and bored
Livin' by the sword
And we'd steal away every chance we could
To the backroom, to the alley or the trusty woods
I used her, she used me but neither one cared
We were gettin' our share
Workin' on our night moves
Tryin' to lose the awkward teenage blues
Workin' on our night moves
Mmm, and it was summertime
Mmm, sweet, summertime, summertime
Oh, wonderin'
Felt the lightning, yeah
And I waited on the thunder
Waited on the thunder
I woke last night to the sound of thunder
How far off I sat and wondered?
Started hummin' a song from 1962
Ain't it funny how the night moves?
When you just don't seem to have as much to lose
Strange how the night moves
With autumn closin' in
Mmm, night moves, mmm
(Night moves) night moves
(Night moves) yeah
(Night moves) I remember
(Night moves) ah, I sure remember the night moves
(Night moves) ain't it funny how you remember?
(Night moves) funny how you remember
(Night moves) I remember, I remember, I remember, I remember
(Night moves) oh, oh, oh
we were workin', workin' and practicin'
(Night moves) workin' and practicin'
(Night moves) oh, on the night moves, night moves
(Night moves) oh
(Night moves) I remember, yeah, yeah, yeah, I remember
(Night moves) ooh
(Night moves) I remember, Lord I remember, Lord I remember
(Night moves) ha, ha, ooh-hoo
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah
Uh huh, uh huh
I remember, I remember
One of the greatest for sure! It never gets old.

Beautiful comment...Yes it does...You have no idea...😊
For me, it works the other way around. Lines of a song (I loved and had forgotten about) pop up in my head, and they fit, so I look them up. I personally think that is a healthier approach than just turning on a device and letting it dictate you.
My little 6 year boy Tears up to this song. He tell me. It his grandpa favorite song. The admiration he has for his grandfather..

Me and my little girl went out to lunch earlier and I went a different way home and passed an old road that lead to where me and my high-school sweetheart used to "park" and this song popped in my head. When you're young, you think this song is about getting it on with girls. As you get older, suddenly that last verse hits you between the eyes: It's about sitting up in bed and realizing summer has faded "...with autumn closin' in". Can't hear it without choking up now.
I woke to the silence of an empty house & I started whistlin' a tune from ''68...winter closing in fast now...I remember my summertime...sweet summertime...summertime...I remember. Thank you Bob for the memories & the music that brings them back.
It goes so fast, faster than anyone thinks
Actually I loved this song when I discovered it as a teenager in Ireland in 1990. By 92 I was with my girlfriend in a deserted country lane working on our own night moves. I'm married to an American lass now and live in the US...but when I think back..oh what fun...it' all gone now...like Ireland...a youthful dream. Still..I remember, I remember.
Oh Jupiter I hope you are ok. I turn 60 this year and it was like omg whats left for me to do. But I now know I have to live and do what I want, sing want I want , listen & read what and when I want. Go where I want (obviously covid restricts some of that) Dress how I want (ageing hippy here)
You absolutely took the words from my mouth. This is my all time favorite song, and even after hearing it a million times, I laid in my bed last night and relived my youth for hours with this song playing over and over.
Can't remember how many times this song had made me tear up. One of those songs you have to listen to with your eyes closed, makes me feel so incredible sad and happy at the same time. This has to be in the top 5 songs ever made in history

I was a teenager in the late 70's when this song came out. I completely get what Bob's talking about, and I remember many a make out session with many a girl in the back of my rusted out '73 Javelin. I get a little misty remembering my wayward youth. We WERE just young and restless and bored. Like they say, youth is wasted on the young. You can't get those times back. All you can do is remember.
Autumn is indeed closin' in. Damn.
The memories is what makes it all worth it. You can only live it once, but you can remember forever !

I’ll never forget this song. My husband passed away and this song was playing on the tv. He loved Bob Seger.
Bob Seger is the most under appreciated artist in the entire world. One of my granddaughters is named Paige after, what else, Turn the Page. We love Bob here in Maine.
Paige Turner was the Traffic girl on Channel 2. Do you remember that?
Larry B. Sorry no, not familiar. My son has 3 daughters. He was feeling a wee bit outnumbered 😂 so he figured naming her Paige after that song would allow him to tell her when she had a small crisis to just ‘Turn the Page’ and start over. He won’t do that, those girls have him so wrapped around their hearts they will never have to worry about a thing. His name is Larry also, we’re in So. ME.
Thanks for the invite for me ????

I just had a memory from my teens, about a boy I met through my summer job. I was 17, he was 22….before you all lose your minds, this was the 70’s and everyone dated like this, we all liked the older guys because they had jobs and cars and could take us out on a proper date. He worked in construction and he was blonde and lean and tan from days spent in the sun swinging a hammer. He had an old pick up truck and he came to get me and I was wearing a summer dress….we drove down to the beach where we met some friends, then we sat and watched the sunset in the back of the truck with our friends, drinking cold beers and stealing the occasional kiss. I don’t remember his name, we only dated for that summer, but I remember him and his truck and faded Levi’s like it was yesterday….and the sweet summertime.
awsome. But I bet you remember his name. Nice pure American story
Wonder where that fella is now

Appreciate how they captured the sentiment of the song/times here.
Everytime I hear this, I just sit back, smile, & slowly feel a Tear roll down my face 😢

I remember being hung up on a girl at 16 listening to this song I'm also 46 and holy crap 30years!!!!!!!!
yep im there to time flies
I had an '80 Trans Am and it was a complete piece of shit. But sitting in it and listening to Seger looking over the city at night smoking joints and drinking Pabst blue ribbon beer was some of the most chill and wonderful hours of my life. There was no worry back then. Bob Seger was part of our soundtrack of life for some folks.
Some years ago I was driving home late at night and this song was playing on the radio. I was on 270 east going around Columbus Ohio and a semi was merging onto the road. The semi was purple and written across it were the words "Night Moves", what a coincidence. That was a very special moment for me.
Nice! Here's sharing another one of those ultra rare experiences in life: sitting smoking with a few friends one evening in Redondo Beach, California. Suddenly there was a knocking on the front door. As we sat up, dazed in a fog and our eyes turned toward the door, Pink Floyd's "Is there anyone out there" was playing on the radio. Another friend stopping by to hang in the gathering of youthful peers on one of those hedonistic evenings in the south land. We were in our summer years, and autumn was far beyond our horizon. We didn't see it coming.
I was on that highway 270 that same night. I was driving my semi. I was in Columbus Ohio. I think I saw you. Unfortunately, it wasn't me. Mommy had just tucked me into bed. Lol
My grandpa drove a purple semi years ago before he was killed. We were in hillsboro ohio though
I been listening to this song a lot lately and I can’t help but think how he is explaining essentially the summer of his life and by the time he lays down and here’s the thunder boom autumn is creeping in. Man does it feel like that right now lol
strange how the night moves with autumn closing in
What a timeless classic! I love this song!
Bob Seger touched everyone with his music. His songs are so relatable, about the experiences of life, about love, about growing up. Rock n’ Roll never forgets, Rock n’ Roll forever ❤.
👍😊👍 Hell YEAH!
P.S. I am a Jagoff from the NORTH SIDE. Luv the BLACK & GOLD (Even IF my Buccos, Stillers 'n Pens ain't the best right now, I'm always with 'em!)
For real, for all shit we Pittsburghers poke at Detroit, Cleveland and places like that, We often forget that we ARE all "Cut from the same cloth". Bob Seger's (Detroit) music is more relatable to a Pittsburgher than ANYTHING from a New York or EVEN a Philadelphia singer/band. No one here WANTS to admit it, But Pittsburgh is more "Ohio" than "Pennsylvania" And as a Jagoff born on 46th Street in the actual City of Pittsburgh, I'm Okay with that.
Ramblin Gamblin Man!
One of the very best! An American musical hero!
It was just after the Bob Seger show in Denver in '18 that I asked my Wife Cheryl to marry me ... it was a wonderful inspiration and I used some of my 'night moves' - we just had our first anniversary!!! Thank You again Bob Seger!!!!
Congratulations!
I heard this sing when I was 29 and still, I fully appreciated the sentiment and the lost naivete of youth. At age 76, it rings even stronger, One of Seger's greatest.
I had a candy apple red ‘67 Chevelle as a kid, I use to crank this song up while cruising Speedway in ‘82, I was only 16, other than the ‘50s, i believe The ‘80s may have been as good….
All time favorite song, recorded when Bob was in his prime. Amazing vocals and lyrics. The finished Night moves song was sent to Capital records, Seger was called out to CA where the Capital execs said " This is career making song" Shortly released after Live Bullet, Bob said "after the Night Moves album the Silver Bullet Band went from station wagons to jets" Glad to see so many people discovering this amazing artist.
Been a fan for years.
I don' t believe any one song can be the greatest ever. But Night Moves is tied with all the other Number 1 greatest rock songs of all time.
Ain't it funny how the night moves, when you just don't seem to have as much to loose, strange how the night moves. That touches my soul. Memories of being young. Thank you Bob for the awesome tunes
Everything about this song is great, the guitar, lyrics, backing vocals.
Bring backs domany memories ❤❤
I grew up as a teen in the 80s. This song definitely strikes me as the way it was. I so miss that era!
I was 17 in 1979 at about the time this song came out. And I dated a very cute 16 year old sweet girl, that I had meet in the line to get in the roller skating rink. She was getting fresh with me in line. My sweet little Heather. I can remember picking her up in my "73" Firebird and asking where she wanted to go. She said the drive-in with a cute little giggle. She stared at me and giggle the whole way there. I was so naive back then and still a virgin and so was she, but she wasn't quite as naive as me. We dated all summer long, but for some reason we had a little spat on our last date. I don't even remember what it was about. We felt the lightning, but waited on the thunder. I've never been married or had children. She got married to another man and had a family. About 6 months ago I got a friend request from her. I hadn't talked to her in over 40 years. We are now friends on Facebook. I sent her a link of this video to her and that this song has always reminded me of her, through Facebook messenger. She messaged back with hearts exploding into many hearts emoji. I think she liked it. This song will remind me of her, for the rest of my life. I don't think she's married anymore. And Wow! She's a gorgeous woman. A knock out. Story to be continued.😊
Lmao go get that thang brotha

Matt LeBlanc from F.R.I.E.N.D.S is in this ❤ He was so young here 😊
This song and video strikes deep. I remember watching this video as a teenager in the summer of '95, and feeling heart-achingly nostalgic for a time nearly 30 years prior: an era I was never even life for. Fast forward nearly 30 years later and I find myself heart-achingly nostalgic for a time nearly 30 years ago when I was nostalgic for a time nearly 30 years prior to that. Ain't life funny. The lesson: cherish and enjoy every day and never live in the past. I have yet to learn that lesson.
There’s so much beauty in this track-especially the tenderness of the stillness when he sings “...with Autumn closing in” ...
Baby is one of the best episode of Supernatural ever...
Seriously, it's one of the best songs I've ever heard
This is like an injection of good HS memories...coming of age I'll not forget and Seeger captures it perfectly.
@Bobseger-wh3oo None other than you.
@Bobseger-wh3oo So who are you pretending to be next week "bob?" Shouldn't you be busy rehearsing? Ya know, workin and practicing.
One of the best voices ever. ❤️🎶
The storyteller of our lives.
ryjchurchill
Him & John Cougar Mellencamp
I think we can add Springsteen.
Been listening to Seger sine 72. I’m now 79. God Bless all of our artists for these GREAT Songs!
One of the best lyricist and composer around. America's best!!!
How did Seger do this? So very well captured, the days of our youth. "With autumn closing in ... " Today, it's more like, "with winter closing in ... " The only feeling missing in this song is that nagging sense of being drafted, ending in Vietnam.
ps, although I did get that feeling, I thought on my own. Maybe he did it afterall? Less is more.
Hello, thanks for your positive compliment about my songs, It’s nice seeing all this beautiful comments. How are you doing?
Doing about the same..still against the wind.
@@wynnyoder5605 I hope you’re getting through it very well. I would like to know where you’re chatting from! Have you ever been to any of my concerts?
@@BobSeger0 Texas. Never had the pleasure of attending one of your concerts, but my son, a sound and lighting engineer has worked some of our shows. He is a big fan as well. Good taste runs in the family.
The first time I ever heard this song was when I was a teenager. I was in a diner with my grandparents in Tucson and I hear the sound of amazing talent and great music. I still wake up in the middle of the night and wonder, but no more thunder. If you're here to listen to this song then remember that rock and roll never forgets. Keep living, keep dreaming, and don't forget to sit and wonder sometimes because the days and the nights will happen regardless.
Perfectly said Friend
Hi
Well said...Joe beat me to it, but definitely well said.
Some of Bob's best Lyrics there, You put together.
Beautifully said.
Felt the lightning, waited on the thunder
He knows how to capture a feeling with a song. Good artist.
We’ll going through same phrase of life and music like this sure make life more easier!!!
Never get tired of this song. I was fortunate enough to see him in concert twice. The first time, my wife was pregnant with our son, and during the show it was the first time I felt him kick. Since he was old enough to make choices in music, he's loved Seger. Saw Bob again during his Farewell tour just a couple of years back; will never forget it - 'cause "Rock n Roll NEVER Forgets."
This video was made in 1994, nearly 20 years after the song was released. It stars Matt LeBlanc and Daphne Zuniga. When Night Moves was first first released Saturday Night Live made a music video for the song that stared Garrett Morris. That video was much more subtle and artistic. This one is a little heavy handed.
Still the same excellent tune in 2024 😉👍
LOVE EVERY SONG HE MADE/SANG. I HAVE BEEN TO ALL OF HIS CONCERTS EXCEPT HIS LAST. I PARTIED TILL 3AM. IN THE COMFORT OF MY HOME. I WATCHED A DOCUMENTARY OF HIS LIFE. I JUST A TEE SHIRT FROM HIS FINAL CONCERT MY SON GOT ME A CANVIS A PORTRATE OF HIM FOR MY 50TH BIRTHDAY❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
It's insane how a song and a video make you yearn for a time and place. This is the kind of thing many modern artists lack. The ability to write/perform a song that actually paints a picture in the mind of the listener. I dont care WHAT genre of music it is if I can't visualize it, the song isn't going to hook me. Just my thoughts.

This kind 0f music stopped before the 90's cause there was no more genuine ORIGINATORS
You raised a generation of trust love and compassion for your music with all of our feelings being put in a time capsule.
Thank you Jesus for blessing us with Bob Seger and reminding us of better times as we wait for a renewal of our minds. Thank you Bob for your love you shared in your heart and music.
I just said to my friend that I was definitely born in the wrong generation. I love the music from the 60-80's b/c ur right if u can't visualize it; the song TRULY means nothing. He's 1 of my favorite, along w/ Meatloaf & his opera rock. RIP MEATLOAF!!!!
One of the greatest Rock n Roll bands of all time-
“Don’t Night Moves me” 😂 as much as I love this song, I can’t help but think of my all-time favorite TV show in the process!!!
Just let it waaaaash over you
yeah, just take it in@@LordFoopa

This guy is the best.
My grandpa passed away 5 years ago, and I recently got his old records and analog music stuff. Needless to say, I rediscovered this gem, and I can't stop listening to it.
He's my absolute favorite. There's something about his voice. I'd listen to him read the phonebook. I had all the tapes, then the CDs. I can listen to them on repeat and not get bored. How many can say that?
I Agree,l listen to his Greatest Hits over and over and Never get tired of hearing to them.

One of the most nostalgic songs ever written
I've heard this song hundreds of times and just now have noticed the vibrato in Seger's voice.
If I lived to be a 100 yrs old his music could never catch up to me it just never! ever! Gets old! And it never will
Simply timeless just like freedom it comes deep from within never to be forgotten... 💗🎸🎶
