She co-starred in the Chris Rock comedy film Head of State and Tyler Perry's Madea's Family Reunion.

Ms. Lynn Whitfield is an enormously incredible actress. More than an Oscar deserving actress. I don’t know her personally but she has shown herself to have integrity and dignity on stage and off because she hasn’t won the Oscar. From what I’ve seen over the years many who did win THAT award had to degrade themselves on or off stage on one level or another; or was given it as a token not to entirely lose the Black audience. But not all, thank God. She has held her self truly well. There are very few black actors I can say I respect and am proud of character wise; but for me she’s up there with Sidney Poitier, Diahann Carroll, Cicely Tyson … Viola Davis and Angela Bassett. God bless and keep her and draw her closer to Himself in spirit and in truth👏🏽🌹🌹🙏🏽 May God’s honor continue to possess her heart.🙏🏽
Ms. Lynn is an amazing actress.. She deserves an Oscar because of the way she embodies her characters. Anything she's in i know is going to be a "must see" movie. 🌺🌻🌼🌹
