yeah, i remember my young days in the scene.
I remember being 18yrs going to an old movie theater to mosh and watch bands like this. Best time of my life man for real. I'm 51yrs old now and if there were a place close to me I'd be there. Minus the moshing of course. Too old....i like to watch others have a great time and of course listen to the band's. These guys work their asses off and play their fucking hearts out for ppl like me and u all. Support them and never stop. Loved watching this show
Feel your age brother,49! Had to drive 50 miles to Cleveland when I was 16-17 to see a show. Now I am taking my son to shows. Get a tear in my eye when I watch him go "give an get some" in the pit an come back all beat to hell, exhausted with a smile on his face. You're right, all these bands work their asses off. Not cuz of fame but love. The scene has changed and remained the same though. More acceptance between punks, skins and metal heads and more moms and dads at shows and the music still KICKS FUCKING ASS!!!!!!!

My first show ever was Bad Religion in Wilmington, N.C. at 14 yrs old in 1991. My 16 yr old brother left me the entire show to go in the pit and I just stood there, trying not to die, and being in complete awe. I was hooked. I’m 44 yrs old now and I still listen to hardcore music. I go to Walmart and listen to angry and emotional hard shit in the produce department 😂It doesn’t get old. I’m mostly sad that my 21 and 17 yr olds may never experience this type of show.

I love that HC is a mix of straight-edge bands and bands that sell grinders. In the end it's the music that brings everyone together.

Ill never forget that as soon as I got to the festival, I was just in time for Inclination. I was so fucking pumped to see them because this was my first experience in TIHC. As soon as I went to the front, I got punched in the nose and ended up hurting for a month. I was worth it lol

Same here! It's a great fucking song, and it's one of those songs that picks you up. I don't foresee myself drawing X's on my hands (are there people who claim edge past 35?), but I do often think of what my life would have been like if I never drank and stuff.

Armando Arrojo never done any hardcore drugs and I always keep my alcohol and THC consumption to a moderate level, it doesn’t affect my life in a negative way and I enjoy it every now and then. I definitely respect straight edge but it just isn’t for me. All love though.

@@LAHowell same here. I love and respect straight edge very much although I am not edge myself. This thread is nice. Love one another and like you said, so long as you aren't hurting others, cool. I also do not partake in hard drugs... I smoke weed and have drinks now and then with dinner or whatever. I feel like I relate more so to someone who is edge than someone who isn't... when I smoke, I usually like to do it alone and at home relaxing and drinking is very casual and usually just with a meal. Not sure why I'm saying all this, just liked the discussion here and wanted to chime in.

When he was 18 he took a greyhound bus to TIHC. He know very few people and moshed lot. He moshes when he feels anxious. His knee is fucked up which makes him anxious as well. He loves HC as it is the most important thing in his life.

Older scene people told him when he was skatin' at 18: You cannot be Straight Edge until you're 21. So it does not count you claim SXE before. He said: Did you skate back then, they said yes, he said do a kickflip. They couldn't. So he said don't tell me what I can do and from which point on I am accepted as SXE.
