We can only hope and pray that this happens! Although, I don’t think Punk would even be cleared by that point since he’s injured and apparently it’s expected he’ll be out of action for at least 8 months and considering how much he and Triple H have historically not gotten along, I’m kind of worried he still wouldn’t want to return to WWE even after Vince finally retiring, plus we still don’t know what his status with AEW is. If they do buy out his contract he will probably have a non compete clause which would prevent him from going to another wrestling company for a few months or so most likely as typically wrestlers non compete clauses are around 90 days long. I really want him to return if for nothing else, than for the moment it would create. The Royal Rumble match would undoubtedly be the best opportunity for him to return to WWE in an actual match unannounced. The only other possible four occurrences I could see it happening hypothetically would be either the RAW after WrestleMania, the RAW after SummerSlam, WrestleMania itself, or SummerSlam itself.
Honestly who else got goosebumps seeing cm punks hometown entrance in 2011 money in the bank he was like this is my hometown give me all u got I love u Chicago it was so intense seeing that hometown crowd getting behind him that was so goosebump inducing like I can rewatch it over and over and still feel that same reaction as to when I saw it first time and not many videos make u feel like that but I wish there was more but whatever it is what it is
Imagine at the end of Survivor Series you got the crowd chanting CM Punk like crazy and this song plays! You can say I predicted the future if he comes back but he’d prob use a Cult of Personality if he does.
Punk needs to come back as a bastard heel with this theme, we need to see Punk-Omega in 2023, especially considering AEW have the TV deal renewal next year, Punk & FTR vs The Elite will do NUMBERS. We gotta hope they all do what's best for the company and work together.
