- In today’s video, we attend a local car meet/dyno day. There were a lot of cool cars like corvettes, hellcats, and even supercars. The highlight of the day was hellcat jailbreak on the dyno. It didn't go so well and disappointed us with horrible dyno numbers. A CT5-V Blackwing also showed up and hit the dyno. The Blackwing made some very impressive numbers. Overall it was a very entertaining video. Enjoy!

These engines are ALL bench tested before they are put in the cars. With all things equal (air temp, IAT, humidity, DA, engine temp, oil level, etc.) every Redeye motor that gets put into a car is within a 3 or 4% HP rating of one another. Yes, there is sometimes a little variance between them, but it is completely negligible. Now with that said, these motors will generally make more power once everything is broken-in and settled after a few thousand miles at most. Any small variance in HP figures between two 100% stock Hellcats with equal mileage in the same environment can come down to the smallest thing like how much oil is in the motor or which car has better quality fuel or a cleaner air filter.
Then you add in, which dyno you used, Mustang, Hub, 4 wheel roller, Dynojet; and were THOSE dyno calibrated and testing done correctly. Or if you want to get game playing and tricky the ones that dyno the supercars or high output GTRs that "inflate" the numbers for their customers. Too many variables. But I get it, everyone is "upset" at Dodge for the last calls, so jump on that moving train of "trend"
Don't also forget, manufacturers like BMW, under-rate their HP figures. German horses are different or something lol most modern Dodge vehicles have the 8spd, you'll get a different result running it in 4th rather than 6th whichever is closest to 1:1, torque multiplication by gear and all that jazz too. dyno days are rushing you in and out getting as many on, so a basic mistake can easily be made.

When it comes to dyno runs the first run is usually the best especially if the tune is right, the more runs you do the more the engine heat soaks along with the intercooler system, you can see how important inlet Temps are with how low the first runs with the first car were.

Factory says 91 octane but you gotta run 93. And turn on the chiller. And factor in any variables such as temperature, relative humidity, and overall density altitude. Then remember to add 15% to your RWHP number to get crank HP. That thing might be closer to 807 than you think. My Redeye is quite temperature-sensitive; there's enough difference in power between a 90 degree day and a 60 degree day it's almost like driving a different car. 90 degrees, it'll hook. Not as much power and the tires stick to the warm pavement. 60 degrees, it'll blow the tires off through third gear.
That Durango looks like someone vomited all inside it. Hidious.
Too bad none of them numbers equate to the actually ground, where it really counts. Dyno racers at it best.
Funny saying a jailbreak! Jailbreak is the trim, that you can add whatever accesorues you want! ITS NOT A MORE HP, OR BETTER HELLCAT! Its just a regular hellcat with 710hp. Or if redeye, then 797, or the SS 808hph
Just bought my hellcat redeye and it’s hesitating to start. I only have less than 90 miles on it
This is a known issue. Mine has been doing it as well, only got 300 miles on it. It's only when the car is warm, cold starts are fine. I've read in forums that it will go away after a few thousand miles.
My jailbreak did that. Have the dealership replace the injectors. Chrysler knows it’s an issue
@@Frosty_0826 that’s what they want to do they were telling me that I have to drive the car and burn the old fuel out the system in order to do that but I told them you guys can pump the fuel out and fix the problem. They agreed. How long did it take to get your jailbreak fixed

@@jten6h614 yep I owned 2 uncle owned 1 and my cousins friend has a built one. Interior was garbage my seats started to tear around 40k miles dash stopped working completely around 20k miles. My 2nd one lost power dur to an electrical issue and found out that blew out the fuses. I've had nothing but issues they're good to build bc of the 6.0 other than that they're junk

@@NXT_LVL you do know you get different #’s with different dynos right? The correction factor can be different. Air temp, DA, humidity all change #’s.
@@MotorTube not 15% max. It’s 15% on an very efficient drivetrain that’s front engine rwd. Fuck rear engine cars are 12-13%. Dodge sucks and is more around 18%.

797 to the crank. These numbers are to the wheels. When a manufacturer makes hp claims generally its to the crank.

@@FulanoJM it's the power the engine can make without the drive train. Wheel horse power is the power the car makes at the wheels. Crank horse power or brake horse power is the power the car makes like I said before it reaches the drive train.

advertised hp is the engine alone not in the car yet. Once in the car there’s usually around 15 % loss.
