I don’t understand why they never brought this up again. Despite the incredible power of combining the eye and the sword, this is the first and last time they do it.
Chris Schoenthaler if you mean "they" as the team I believe you're right. But if you mean "they" as in the show, I recall one of the last episodes, where Hannibal Roy Bean combined the Sapphire Dragon, the Shadow of Fear and the Moby Morpher to create a jellyfish monster.
don't forget the fountain of hui + eagle scope that could have shown omi how to destroy evil for all time.

Well, they do it sometimes in that sometimes the animators accidentally use the wrong animation reference and draw the version of the sword with the Eye attached

I love how much development Rai got this Episode. The idea of constantly adding more rules before the Showdown begins is a good way to keep your opponent off balance and give you a more advantageous position! Upping the Ante to a Sheng He Bu Dare to make up for his earlier loss and give him more options for the Showdown, and then the Wu Swapping to keep everyone guessing!! Rai was definitely 1 of my favorite characters. #TyphoonBoomWind
It really foreshadows how much of a chessmaster he is, especially his chess fight against the t rex. Hr completely manipulated the wager conditions, not even letting Tubbimura choose which Wu to wager while making sure he’s got an advantage with which ever Wu he gets.

I forgot how broken combining Wu could be. The Eye and the Sword turned Rai into a storm demigod.

The fact that it looks like the sword's hilt is meant to hold the Eye of Dashi makes the combo more plausible. I thought of this after watching this episode on a rerun.

This is when the show really started to run wild with the rules and expand on the showdowns, and I love it. Tho, there's also a case to be made that the writers were "just making shit up" since a lot of this stuff doesn't come up much after this
No. They only began to make stuff up when xiaolin showdown trio and tsunami came along.
Then again...knowing Dashi being a grandmaster troll, kinda fits with him messing with what is considered a rule

Not only that, but it showed what Master Fung saw with him: while Raymundo could be irreverent at times, it was the same instance with Dashi: despite being seemingly undisciplined, they were then refined to be mighty warriors that were as powerful as they were clever.
Too bad Tubbimura was fought evenly by the Xiaolin Warriors. From this one episode alone, I thought that he and Raimundo would've made excellent archrivals. They had perfect rival chemistry between them.

Omi gets automatically roasted bcoz of the such big ego, and by the way he always put everybody else down in team especially raimundo showing off his supremacy over other teammates but anyway it was a fun show loved all the characters equally.

you got it wrong. Kimiko refers the first "he" as Raimundo, as she answered what Clay was asking is Rai know what he's doing or not, and the second "he" as Omi.
in conclusion, what Kimiko said is "Even Omi doesn't know what (Raimundo)'s doing. And (Omi)'s an expert!"

xXGrEyZXx no the sword of the storm can turn you into wind it's why rai lost it when he used it the first time. The sword can make storms but when used lacks any real physical presence and can't be used like a normal sword so when he combined the two he was able to use the swords powers on himself as well
It actually combines into Reversing Mirror, based on what I've seen at 4:35.
It's actually exclusive to Rai.
Each of the characters are able to use an ability unique to them when using a shen gong wu with powers that match their own Dragon element.
Like how omi is able to create ice with that water orb.

They did use this format a few more times actually. But this one stood out the most and honestly... was just one of the coolest showdowns in the entire show.

The Sword of the Storm and Blade of the Nebula perhaps, although technically the Sword of Lucida *is* the Sword of the Storm (which, like all other Shen Gong Wu, had to be given a new name and design in Xiaolin Chronicles because of copyright issues).
And it was never mentioned again. No seriously, they never went into combining wu or this type of show down after this episode. It bugged the crap out of me and a kid.

They should have combined more Wu or at least show the Eye and Sword combine again.
The Sword would work with other small energy emitting Wu like the Star Hanabi. And the Fist could get fire or lighting punches.
Thing is, unless the Wu were destroyed, they'd just keep getting used in such a way over and over.
At least in Jackie Chan Adventures, for example, the Talismans were made from dark magic, so in principle, they did not like using them. Except Jade.
