    Welcome to my channel. On my channel you will see a lot of reviews and shopping hauls. I am also starting a series on decluttering my dolls so that I can enjoy other dolls more. This video is a look at some of my My Twinn dolls that are leaving my home.
    I am an adult doll collector. Growing up and having a family has not changed my love for dolls! My videos are meant for other adults who enjoy dolls, too.

    I have known about My Twinn dolls but have never had one. I didn't know they had baby dolls until you said you got one for you daughter. I just searched on ebay and now I want one!

      Thank you so much for your comment. I am glad that you were able to learn about the babies by watching this video. MT originally called them babies and then called them toddlers. I think because they came out with a smaller doll that looked younger. The original babies can wear baby clothes which is fun.

    I wanted a My twinn doll so so bad when I was younger. Actually still do 😂.

      Awe. I wanted one to look like me when I was a little girl, but I never did get a custom one. I was always hoping my mom or husband would surprise me with one. In my mind, it was the obvious gift for any doll collector. I did have a baby made to look like daughter.

    I love MyTwinns too. I've let go of quite a few...but I still have 15 left. I understand the eyes...I feel the same!

      It really is sad about the eyes. I don't like that some of them get greasy limbs too! I have about 50 of them left.

    Thank you for sharing! I don’t collect my twinn but I love seeing collections of them. I am hoping they all go to loving homes! Getting rid of dolls is difficult and I haven’t gotten rid of any but I can’t imagine! Will you keep us updated on the progress of the process of your collection?

      Thank you for your support. It is difficult to let dolls go. I have done this in the past with Barbies and Cabbage Patch Kids. What I found that I regretted the most was not getting photos of what I let go. I do hope that the dolls went to those that will love them. I am thinking about doing a series on decluttering dolls.

    Thanks for sharing. Pretty dolls and I would think they were fun to sew for and dress. I understand, though, we sometimes just find our dolls stop bringing us joy but they might bring happiness to others. I’m rehoming most of my Disney Doll collection now.

    • @sew4dolls

      Thanks for watching and commenting. I did have a lot of fun collecting these dolls when they were still being sold. I have downsized other doll collections and will have to continue doing more. I am out of space! Which Disney dolls are you rehoming? I did that with many of my Mattel ones from the 90s.

      @@sew4dollsI just rehomed most of my Little Mermaid/Ariel dolls. Some I sold and some I gave to my daughter-in-law. I kept one modern Ariel from the playline. I have one LE parks Ariel that I’ll rehome.

      Awe. That is too bad. I always hoped that my family would surprise me with one to look like me as a little girl. In my mind, it was the perfect gift for a doll collector. I should have just had one made back in the early 90s when they had all of the choices.

      I thought of the MT dolls when I saw the WW start to change colors. I really don't like eyes that can do that. It is happening to some of my Ruby Red dolls too.

      Thank you! I really hate dealing with shipping. These ones I felt had flaws that bothered me so it made it easy to donate. Donating is the easiest way to get rid of things. I might try selling some others later.

      I hope they all got great homes because you have some real beauties here. Although I totally understand the concept of downsizing! Yikes! I have to do the same, but then I get an idea for a OOAK doll and need a misc doll to work on!
      I’ve only made one My Twinn into a customized doll - my ‘Lurch’ for my Addams family. 🤗💞✨

      @@ShosyLeigh I hope that they did go to others that will appreciate them. It is hard to let dolls go, but I am at the point that I can't enjoy them because there are too many. They aren't displayed properly. I rewigged many of mine and did give some freckles.

    I never heard about these dolls, so it was interesting to see them. Some of the face molds are really nice; it's a shame about the eyes. I wouldn't get rid of the entire line, but you said you still have quite a few.
    Have you ever gotten rid of all the dolls of a line? I have, but generally they are only ones I have just a few of and wasn't that enamored with to begin with. Hairdorables Hairmazing is one that that comes to mind.

    • @sew4dolls
      @sew4dolls  Před 3 měsíci

      There is a lot to learn about the My Twinn dolls which is fun to. There were so many face molds available. There isn't that much on the internet about them. There used to be more but those pages are no longer around. I still have about 50 of them.
      I have gotten rid my Ashton Drake porcelain dolls. I don't think that I have any more of them. I had to look at the brands you mentioned. I have never had any of those. They are cute.

    I do know about these dolls and always wanted one. I think they are beautiful. I didn’t have a lot of dolls growing up but I appreciated all that I did have. I must ask you,I figured it couldn’t hurt and the least you could say is no… but would you consider at least donating or selling one to me? I would pay for shipping and/ or the price of the doll. I am in love with the AA doll with the pink shirt and pink shoes… my second favorite is the other AA girl. And the third is the medium skinned doll with the eyelash falling off. I believe they are all very lovely and would love to add to my collection and I do not own any My Twinn dolls. If you are willing I don’t expect them to be dressed as I understand that outfits can be costly and know that you do have other dolls that can wear them. If you can’t or won’t attempt this it is fine. I just thought I would ask. 😊

    I have a couple MyTwinn dolls from my daughters. Their hair is pretty gnarly and doesn't stay on. I'd like to keep them. Any suggestions of how to brush through and put the wigs back on? (Glue?) 5/31/24

    • @sew4dolls
      @sew4dolls  Před 20 dny

      I would use a wire brush and spritz the hair with water. Then gently brush the hair from the bottom and work your way up . There was a time that people liked to dunk the dolls hair in downy, but I think some people have had issues with that method later so I don't recommend that. You could always rewig the dolls. I have done that many times. I like to use Aleen's tacky glue. Some people like to use stronger glue but many times you have to use a mask and do that outdoors. I don't want those toxins. Good luck.

      There are groups on Facebook that resell them. They can also be found on eBay. Sadly, you can't do one made to look like anyone anymore. I always wanted one of those and was surprised that no one in my family ever had one done for me.
