    Thanks for sharing this video with us.
    Can you tell us more about the touch-up gun you're using:
    - is it an HVLP gun?
    - what needle/nozzle combination are you running?
    - what wall pressure and gun pressure are you using?
    Finally, just wondering why you're calling this a 2-color sunburst, as there's only one color being laid over the base coat.
    Again, thanks for sharing your skills with us.

    • @TexasToastGuitars
      @TexasToastGuitars  Před 5 lety +3

      Hi Marty, all our guns and HVLP these days. I think the psi to the gun is 40 lbs but, remember, these are conversion guns so it will vary from spray gun to spray gun and you really should find the combination that works for y'all. If you perfectly replicate all of our set up here in Colorado and take it to a different place it might not work. We are always adjusting things too and so should you based on the conditions, paints etc.
      The base color is one color and the burst is another. Oddly enough as you burst the two there are lots of other colors that appear.
      Thanks for watching brotherman

    That Deltron is some nice stuff. Had some of the cheaper stuff mixed up for my bumper and they didn't have the correct color. Found that out after painting the bumper.
    So I went back and they tried a few other paint chips but couldn't match it with the cheaper stuff. So they ended up giving me Deltron for free to make up for the other stuff not being the right color. I was pretty surprised because there was a decent price difference.

    • @pneumatic00
      @pneumatic00 Před 5 lety

      @@ethanbattermann7123 Certainly it can be whatever you like, but it's not a style of paint job that Fender ever offered. So, while you or I might like the look of it, we could not call it "authentic" in the sense of mimicing a vintage style. Indeed, we would know instantly that it WASN'T a vintage style. Likewise, in Google images if you look up "fender sienna burst" you'll see a cherry sunburst color style that sometimes looks nice and sometimes does not; but Fender never offered it until at least the 80's. That's all I'm saying about it, no judgement implied.

      Hi Bad Gamer47, I'm sure it could be done and even done pretty well. The tricky bit is going to be using a paint delivery system that isn't really adjustable. Sure they make different caps/tips or spray nozzles for the cans but it isn't as easy as simply adjusting the gun.
      Good luck on your project, let me know how it turns out. My one word of advice is to aim the paint at the body rather than away from it (it's going to take a little practice) that way you won't get that hard line which isn't really a burst but a ring of darker paint.

    Hey can I shoot poly instead of clear coat if I use the same dye you used?

      I don't see why not Kevin. I'm not sure what you mean when you say "poly" , like what brand you are using?
      The clear coat we use is a urethane, I'm assuming poly is short for polyurethane. You should always test the coatings that you use... no mater what they are.
      Let me know how it goes

      I ran into a problem, I am making the drawings for a Fender Showmaster that I had. Fender sent me an email with the specs, color etc, it’s says that’s a 25.5 scale. I have two HSH bodies, one resembles a Jackson soloist and the other is a strat body. I am using both bodies for reference purpose, now here is the thing, when I measure from the nut to the bridge it measures 26.5 on both guitars!. Now when I tried to move up the pick up cavities to make it 25.5, There is no room to fit all 3 of them in a 6” space to keep the 25.5 scale length... are the bodies wrong or is it me?

      Hi Kevin,
      The Fender Showmaster had a 24 fret neck... I wonder if the bodies you are using are the problem?
      Could it be that the standard neck pocket for a 21 fret neck (or 22 fret neck with that little fretboard overhang) e the problem? I don't think you should have any problem fitting in 2 humbuckers into a 25.5" scale guitar with 24 frets.
      Maybe start with the scale on a big sheet of paper, layout the frets and then draw the body using one of the frets as an index. Looks like the lower horn joins the neck at the 21st fret.
      Good luck man
