  • This version of my legendary Ping Pong LED Wall is 2x1,5m in size and consists of 1200 RGB LEDs. The build is done from aluminium using a DIY hole punch. This version is driven by an ESP32 and supports even camera streaming from an ESP32Cam or media streaming from the PC. More on that topic follows in a future update.

    • @bitluni
      @bitluni  Před 4 lety +132

      At this point I apologize to anyone upset or offended by the effect reminiscent of the rising sun flag. I was notified about the possibility that that would be associated with regimes in Asian countries. It wasn't my intention and it shouldn't even be associated with any military flag. I'm a pacifist and would alter it if I was aware of this before. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rising_Sun_Flag

    Amazing work as usual. I absolutely love the final result. 🤩
    Might I suggest you switch from the ESP32 to a (ARM based) teensy since you can use this library called OctoWS2811 which can drive 8 strips on parallel. It can potential manage more than 200FPS in your 1200 LED frame. You will lose WiFi capabilities but that is easily added by putting a raspberry pi, which can get bitmaps over WiFi/Eth/local-storage and send bitmaps over USB to the teensy (at USB full-speed rate ~12Mbps). That library can even do multi-processor synchronization...
    I am actually finishing up the same thing right now but I mine is much smaller and hexagonal (at 331 LEDs). 😋
