    Seven years later I found your video. I've poured candles for years. Always bought my moulds. Your video is EXCELLENT on making the mould. The viewers also should know these moulds will make multiple of candles before they wear. The past few years beeswax has skyrocketed in price. Finding bulk beeswax is more difficult now than it ever was. If someone is trying to make beeswax candles try to find the blocks and not those silly little wax bb's that are sold.
    I'm now getting ready to see your making beeswax candles pt. 2.

    Love the video series. I took what you showed and "improved" upon your way. I put it in quote's because I'm sure it's all opinion. I was able to make three molds. That are self standing. Thanks for the inspection. Spelling.

    Wrap some paper around a candle for size. Tape up. Push out candle. Tape up end of paper tube. Insert string, fill with wax. Done.

    I was wondering if you could make this any more difficult? or expensive. 1. UCO candle is not 2" it is 1.25" so why not use 1.25" PVC pipe to start with. With a proper fitting plug or cap, a hole drilled for wick to pass. Voila, done, costs pennies compared to poly.

    The 1.25 riser pvc or metal pipes that screw to the bottom of sink drain outlet work great. A 12" lenght can be cut into 4 molds.

    Great vid, being in the 70/80 age group I'll design a (3) hole (2) piece mold as I'd use for ceramics and 3D print it, releasing should be zero hassle. Methods change in 5+ years.

  • @PapajosTraders
    @PapajosTraders Před 2 lety +2

    Would it not have been much easier and faster to just find a piece of pipe with a diameter close to the UCO candle, and use that as yer mold???

    You do not need to buy mold release.................Just spray some WD40 on it. Or use some 3 in 1 oil................it all works

    Vaseline as a demolding agent? A light greasing should do the trick. OR use whats in your kit. Chapstick or Burleigh Balm should work as well.

    where is a good cheap place for wax. I was pricing out wax based on each candle weighing 6 oz. and it did not seem worth doing unless you got this really cheap otherwise seems ur paying just as much for making your own candles as it is to buy name brand ucos. I would really like to make these regardless but making it so it's cost effective would be that much more awesome.any help will be greatly appreciated thank you

    Look at Juijitsu 2000's channel, he has a much easier method to making these UCO type candles. His new video reuses the same mold each and every time. No need to break or cut pipes.
    👍👍😎

    • @mattcarolina
      @mattcarolina Před 4 lety +1

      His candles only last 4-6 hours they are smaller than original.. This is a much better method I believe

    • @beebob1279

      I saw that video. It was good. This is much better because of the eventual ease of removing the candle from the mould. I've poured candles for years. I'm going to watch his pt.2 video and see how he did.

    • @beebob1279
      @beebob1279 Před 2 lety +1

      @@mattcarolina Plus that guy isn't using beeswax which is why they don't last as long. I agree with you. This is superior quality than the other guy. But hey, it works for him and what he wants. Me? I like things done the best way they can be done.

    Just buy a pvc pipe that’s the right size around cap it and pour your wax. This is WAY too many steps!!
