Lived in a painter’s loft on the Bowery between colleges. Painter had a music guy for boyfriend. One night he burst in wild eyed and said we all had to come across the street to see this band. This was the band, and this was the show! Thank you for posting!

Doesnt get any better than this. All the creativity, songwriting, and performance as a band at 100%. They just released cmon pilgrim. Charles what a freaking creative force on display with the writing, vocal performance and guitar. One of a kind. .Layer in Joey’s guitar riffs and Kim’s vocals and Davids pep on the drums. Love the band.
Agreed on everything but the lyrics, the lyrics havent got to much meaning , even Kim said she didnt understand what Frank (Charles) was talking about in the songs

I was first turned onto the Pixies about a month before this show. It took almost 25 years before I finally saw them live. All the right ingredients/personnel to make this band one of the best and influential bands around. So great to hear one of these early sets before they couldn't play small places anymore.
I'm still up listening to Pixies on CZcams when I should be asleep. I saw them in Wellington at Opera House in New Zealand last week playing both C Pilgrim and S Rosa back to back and it was epic....Be cool to meet Pixies fans here and connect with Pixies peeps. I love Pixies, Smashing Pumpkins's (vintage), Placebo (pre 2007), Deftones, Interpol, Radiohead, The Killers, The Strokes, etc...

Just saw Pixies at Wellington, New Zealand's Opera House which only houses around 1300 ppl making it so special being way smaller than last time I saw them here. They played C Pilgrim and S Rosa from start to finish which is great bcoz I know nearly all of the songs, word for word. Everyone was seated in the beginning of the concert but standing soon thereafter with many just running up to the front of stage with only down side in Opera House is no air con and a boiler room when even mildly dancing but I came prepared with a hanky to wipe the sweat off of my forehead. The lockdowns etc., destroyed any motivation to listen to music but then The got to see The Killers, GnR and Pixies all in the space of 3 and a half weeks here in NZ and they were all remarkable performances.
I had no idea they were still doing that! I saw them do the same thing back in 2018 I believe. Very cool experience for fans like me who much prefer the pre-reunion music. Just wish they'd do something similar for Bossanova and Trompe Le Monde.
@@PixiesAndFrankBlackArchive Yeah, Pixes are still doing the Pilgrm/Rosa tour, songs back to back. I gave up in listening to music after lockdowns, forced jabs, etc...However, in the past 3.5 weeks I've seen The Killers, GnR and Pixies. And Pixies were in a smaller venue - Wellington's Opera House which was so more personal. A few days b4 Pixies gig at Opera House, I learned word for word of most songs on Pilgrm and Rosa which was grand.
I've seen them 4 times, that was the most animated I've seen Charles, think he enjoyed playing in the Opera House
Who knew these guys would change how rock music is done.
