- Work continues on the 2003 Mercedes E320 Wagon rebuild. In this video, I'll show you how to fix door panels that won't stay on the doors. I'll also show you how to replace the door module to fix windows that won't go down and seats that don't move. I"ll also show you how to align the front door on a car. Then we'll begin addressing the front body damage from the accident!

I have removed few doorcards in my day and almost always something broke. I just don't have the patience with old plastics to do it properly. It's really nice to watch you do it and overcome difficulties.

So nice to see you repair stuff and smile, just removed the strut for my cl500 to change the bellow not a hard job but you can't remove the top strut plate so it was a waste of time, I like this car very much but I'm in my sixty and last week I rebuilt the ABC block came out perfect, now had loud pop in door soft close stopped working. I'm going to wait till it gets cooler out side to fix that. Keep up the good work Mike .

I have this engine in my SLK (manual!). The fuel economy is great and it runs like an IWC in all ranges. The V6 was such an imprvement over the old inline six.

Hey Mike - regarding your comment about fuel economy at the 2 minute mark. Hit the button on the left hand side of the steering wheel and it will show fuel economy numbers since last reset and last time you started the car. I have the same car with 4matic and get 18 city and 24/25 highway.
So im not the only person who feels like lkq grapes you on every little thing.

Glad you saved the old E320 Wagon…it’s seemingly a great running car. When you are done bolting the new body panels on perhaps get the car wrapped?
LKQ normally charges a core fee for body parts. Bough a hood from them, and changed it in the parking lot. Took the unwanted hood right back to them.
Looks like you may have finally found a keeper wagon/daily driver.
I love how scrap yards are money wise. I have to get a wiper blade motor for the passenger side on my car and it of course is just a dealer only part which the dealer doesn’t have but even if they have it it would cost us $220 but I think I found one that is $75 but it came out of a 2016 ford focus but I have a 2012 ford focus so my mechanic is going to see if it will work for my car. I am hoping and praying it will. Thankfully I am on vacation with my husband so we have his truck but I am going back to work this weekend so I would love to get my car back.
I agree with you concerning LKQ! Not only are their prices now ridicious, BUT you have to BUY any kind of warranty! What a contrast to the "original" LKQ from a few years ago!
The warranty is optional, you can tell them to remove it… then you buy it as is. However I noticed everything now has a “core” including plastic parts lol
@sccarguy8242 As I said, you have to keep the warranty AND PAY for it OR remove it, and have NO warranty! RIDICIOUS! They once had a FREE warranty for 30 days. IF you wanted an extended warranty, one could buy it! That is when LKQ was fair!
@@richardgreene3460 yeah I agree… I usually don’t get warranty on body and trim parts unless it’s something I’m not sure I need, this way I could return it. I have a yard that’s further away, but way cheaper however everything is Asis. I got an ac compressor there for $30 worked perfectly! You just have to be more carful, try and stick with cars that are wrecked (you know why it’s in the yard, etc) .

The pull a part places near me have good prices and nice people. I did go to a yard about 60 miles from me that has some prices like you experienced. Each plug for some power window switches I was as going to buy were $15 each! It had 4 plugs, so $60 for just plugs with short wires attached! This yard does not advertise prices, so I did as you did and said no thank you at the checkout. The car is really coming together, so happy for you!

Does the replacement front driver door have a slightly different tint on the glass? It's difficult to tell from the video. You might want to consider swapping the glass to match.

LKQ is crazy mike. The price is ridiculous on some parts. I paid like $40 for a trunk release handle. It had the key with it so I wanted it. My local yard has better prices. LKQ is a bigger company so I guess they’re more greedy.

This car is going to be sweet after you are done with it. Look like nothing happened to it.
Should give the door to the paint shop off the car so that they can paint the door jams. Also, they tend to rust on the bottom, so best remove the rubber seal and check for rust. Too bad you couldn't find a door in the same color. Makes it much easier. I had my E55 painted with the doors off.

Does the transmission not have overdrive ? I noticed on the dash when you were on the freeway
that you were doing 65mph and the tach showed 2500 rpm's. My Yukon has 3.73 gears with the
overdrive transmission and it is under 2000 rpm's at 65 mph. If I remember correctly it is around 1800 rpm's.
It's looking better. It should be a nice car when you get it finished.

Cool, will you put the window trim rubber from the dented door to the new door? It appears to be another tone or discoloured like crazy. If you want to grow your subs I still humbly suggest to edit a few of your builds in a all-in-one cut with profit and expenses.
