For some reason Echo's portrait is actually used when giving endorsements, but not anywhere else
Not just that, when you go into settings and are doing unique controls for each characters it is also used

I'm surprised about Buckwheat's changes for her portrait. I'd get both the side bangs AND the crown.
For the record, Torb and Rein VA's still say her name slightly off. Pay attention to how they pronounce the second syllable vowel compared to how she does. The VA for Bronchitis is the most reliable source as she's the only one fluent in Swedish.

tbh, I really like all the Overwatch 1 2D portraits. The new ones don't hit the same. Shame they had to scrap them
I do miss some of those old artworks, like Dva or 76, but I prefer the vast majority of OW2's artwork personally. It's so clean and vibrant and much more accurate to their actual 3D models.
OW1 art was usually sharp and angular and stylized compared to how they actually look in-game, for better and for worse.

Man, this channel. I can't. This has to be one of the best channels I actively follow. Such a fun and interesting content, and always with great editing and script. I believe is Nesskain’s work. He’s the one who was worked in the illustrated origin stories and lots and lots of artwork for OW. Also designed Vander for Riot’s Arcane. He recently stopped working for Blizzard

I think the main reason she doesnt have a 2d portrait is because out of all characters she is the only one who didnt get a new look for OW2 (for some reason), so they didnt draw a OW2 portait for her. They could use OW1 portrait instead, but it looks so outdated so they decided to put a 3d portrait instead. Who knows, may be this is foreshadowing a huge lore plot around her which drastically changes her look (COPIUM)
What does COPIUM mean?
They mentioned it back in 2019, after the OW2 announcement, that Echo isn't gonna get a new look, because she was originally planned as an OW2 hero

There is another, un-fixed (as far as I know) 2d hero portrait, being that of Moira. In her portrait she has a dark metal arch over her right eye, mirroring the one over her left eye that has the white mask over it; however her OW2 skin doesn't actually have the arch over her right eye, it only exists in her portrait and her old OW1 skin.
the weirdest thing is that when you ping an echo in a match, the icon that appears is her 2d one. same with endorsments as it uses her 2d one as well
