Because for most ppl, they don't become homeless for no reason. Most of the time, ppl have family to take them in until they get on their feet. Otherwise they go to the streets. Most of the time they're ppl that don't want to get clean, don't want to work, and are trying to make others feel sad for them. You have to think about how many chances someone gets until they lose their jobs, their homes, their whole family. At some point, you can't help someone who doesn't want help. You're sacrificing your sanity, and your life, to help someone who sucks the life out of you. I've spent my whole life trying to help my mom(meth head/alcoholic) my dad (alcoholic who can't pay his bills) and my stepdad (likes everything) and many MANY friends who are so bad on drugs...you can't help them. Then when they're homeless they wanna blame you for their downfalls. So, of course, you feel bad for them. I don't. I'm sorry to say it, but no one becomes homeless for no reason. I'm not rich. I don't have a middle class or rich lifestyle, but as soon as my druggie friends find out I'm doing ok on my own? They mooch. I'm done with ppl feeling sorry for the homeless. 99% of the $$$ you give them will go to drugs or alcohol. The other 1% realize they made a mistake and straighten themselves out. After 1-3 years of living like that they either become used to it or they realize they're fucked up and get it together.

Me and my girlfriend were almost kidnapped a few weeks ago, we went to a park late at night, some dude randomly appeared in the open field behind us when we looked back, all of a sudden we stood up and ran, he started running after us, my girlfriend later told me the man had a gas mask, and a guy some months ago with a gas mask robbed a store at knife point... we never go to that place that late at night.

That way I don't have to worry about them spending it on drugs or anything else like that. And also I don't directly give it to them because I don't know them enough. This resonates with me because I was almost kidnapped. I used to walk home from school, and I lived in a nice area that soon turned ghetto when the people were letting shady people rent apartments. When I was walking home from school, I felt like I was being followed. And so, just in case, instead of looking behind me, I grabbed my key from my pocket and held it for protection like my mom drilled into my head to do in case.
It happened when I was almost to my apartment, someone grabbed me from behind and picked me up. He covered my mouth so I wouldn’t scream as he tried to drag me away. When I went to bite him, I ended up getting his pinkie into my mouth and I bit down so hard that I actually broke skin. When he let me go, I bolted into my apartment and called the police.
I found out later that the guy who tried to take me was my NIEGHBOR! He had been sneaking into our apartment from our balcony since we left it open during the night since my mom didn’t wanna use the air conditioning. He would watch me sleep and he would even take my underwear and clothes. They were able to find out it was him because there was blood on the sidewalk from when I bit him. He was arrested and charged with breaking an entering, attempted kidnapping, stalking and even child pornography. He had pictures of me naked from installing cameras in my room and bathroom at some point when my family was out!
Needless to say, my mom locks everything now. And she used the air conditioning until we moved and we live in a very save community now. And there’s no way to get in since everything is always locked, only to be unlocked when we are home.
