Congrats Tommy! 4 yrs ago I bought my F80 Comp a month before you went to WI and ironically sold my F80 this past Dec and also purchased a Porsche...natural progression.

@@TommyLGarage I got a 718 T same spec (racing yellow) as your 911 I also had to drive 760 miles to pick it up (Va)…no snow though here in FL 😁
I can appreciate this video. In July I flew up to NJ with my son to pick up a new to me PTS Ferrari Fly Yellow 997.1 Carrera S. Drove it about 1900 miles back home to TX over 3 days, hitting Tail of the Dragon on the way. Great way to familiarize yourself with a new car. Recommend it to anyone if it’s in the time/financial budget. Awesome experience.

Am following a little further behind. Had a Lexus F350 when Tom lifted his M3 from Wisconsin in '17. Got an M340xi in '19, and got the G80 M3 this year....Porsche never did cross my mind till very recently. My next purchase will be Porsche...really eyeing the 2024 Porsche Panamera, it looks perfect for my growing family. My G80, that am going to Garage its a stick.

Congratulations and welcome to the 911 world! I live on the northeast coast such as you and am surprised you didn't opt for a awd 911. I never drive my car in bad weather but it's good to know if I'm out when the weather gets bad the car is more stable. Just my 2 cents. Congratulations once again. You will enjoy it. There is no substitute. I made the move from an f80 to a 911 a year ago and look forward to your common content once again.

Your F80 DCT software is doing all of the driving for you, might as well be driving a Prius.

Make sure you lower your tire pressure to the "comfort pressures". That's the pressure that Porsche actually does all the testing on for performance driving. The normal pressure is way too high for both comfort and grip.
I’m having trouble resetting the TPMS. Take a while
@@TommyLGarage mine took a little to reset too. I think I clicked different size wheels and then clicked the actual wheel size again. Also when you go into settings, make sure you check the "comfort pressure" box too. I set my pressures on my Carrera T at 29 front and 31 rear, feels much better. Best of luck m8!

Hey Tommy, I have a 981s with a 2019 718 steering wheel (base). I see your 911 has the sport steering wheel, does it feel different from the one you had on your 981s? Is it smaller? I really miss how small the OEM wheels were and was hoping maybe the sport wheel is smaller
Yes the T diameter wheel is smaller. Feels much better

What is your opinion on a base 911.1 with a PDK?
I would get it with a manual. A 3.4L is amazing with a manual. It’s not powerful enough for pdk - won’t be as fun.
